Leadership's pivotal role in enhancing employee engagement, which subsequently influences work discipline, was emphasized. Employee engagement also acts as a mediator between leadership and work discipline. Employing a quantitative approach, data analysis was done using Smart PLS, aiming to provide insights for productivity and service quality enhancement in the automotive sector. The research aimed to evaluate Leadership's Impact on Work Discipline and the role of Employee Engagement. All permanent employees at both companies were included in the study, utilizing non-probability sampling with saturated sampling and a total of 73 respondents. Findings revealed leadership's indirect influence on work discipline but a significant positive impact on employee engagement. Moreover, employee engagement positively affected work discipline, suggesting its mediating role between leadership and work discipline. Enhancing leadership may thus improve employee engagement, thereby bolstering work discipline.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the mediating role of green reputation in the relationship between the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and corporate financial performance. Research data processing using SEM-PLS Analysis. Data sourced from financial reports and sustainability reports published by the company, and ESG score data released by the IDX in collaboration with Morningstar Sustainalytics. The research findings found that although the implementation of SDGs does not have a direct impact on financial performance, there is a significant influence of the implementation of SDGs on green reputation, and green reputation has a significant influence on the company's financial performance, so that green reputation becomes a mediator between the implementation of SDGs on the company's financial performance. The theoretical implications of this study support signaling theory, where green reputation acts as a positive signal to stakeholders regarding a company's commitment to sustainability. In terms of policy, these results encourage companies to not only adopt SDGs, but also proactively build and strengthen their green reputation to maximize the positive impact on the company's financial performance. The novelty of this research lies in the use of the green reputation variable as a mediator with measurements using the ESG-Sutainalytics score.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance on corporate financial performance and investigates the moderating role of Sharia compliance in this relationship. The research focuses on non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) that have ESG scores provided by Morningstar Sustainalytics. This study employs panel regression analysis on a sample of 58 non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2021 to 2024. The results indicate that ESG performance has a statistically significant negative effect on corporate financial performance. These findings suggest that companies with higher ESG scores, as measured by the Sustainalytics risk-based framework, are associated with greater perceptions of ESG-related risks, and therefore lower financial performance. Furthermore, Sharia compliance does not moderate the relationship between ESG and financial performance. These results imply that although ESG practices and Sharia principles share ethical and sustainability-oriented foundations, they do not operate synergistically in enhancing firm financial performance within the Indonesian capital market context. The findings contribute to the ESG and Islamic finance literature by highlighting the importance of ESG measurement approaches and market context. The study also offers insights for investors, regulators, and corporate managers regarding the interpretation of ESG scores and the role of Sharia compliance in investment decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing the formation of gastronomic value and how these factors can create a competitive advantage for traditional restaurants. In the culinary context, gastronomic value encompasses the quality of ingredients, menu innovation, restaurant atmosphere, sensory experience, and sense of place, which serve to differentiate restaurants in an increasingly competitive culinary market. This study uses a descriptive approach and case studies with three traditional restaurants as subjects: Warung Kopi Klotok in Yogyakarta, RM Pawon Sego Lego in Mojokerto, and Warung Rempah in Batu. Data was obtained through semi-structured interviews with owners, managers, and customers, and analysed using QSR-NVivo software. The results indicate that factors such as the use of high-quality local ingredients, an atmosphere that reflects local culture, and sensory experiences play a crucial role in building gastronomic value. Furthermore, restaurants that create a strong sense of place, combining authentic cuisine and a supportive atmosphere, can strengthen their competitiveness in the culinary market.
