Abstract

Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs) are disorders of the soft tissues of the body which include muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and blood vessels due to work demands that exceed the limits of the body's physical ability. Work posture and individual characteristics can be risk factors for CTDs symptoms at maker lumpia leathers. The aim of this study was to analyze the association of work posture and individual characteristics with the symptoms of cumulative trauma disorders among workers of lumpia leathers maker. This type of research is explanatory research with cross sectional approach. Population of this research is workers of lumpia leathers maker totaling 30 peoples. The sample in this study were drawn from total population. The symptoms of CTDs was measured subjectively using Nordic Body Map. Statistical analysis is using Chi Square correlation test. The results showed there are no correlation between work posture with symptoms of CTDs at neck (sig = 0,301), back (sig = 0,584), upper arm (sig = 0,528), lower arm (sig = 493), wrist (sig = 0,842) and leg (sig = 0,552). There is a correlation between age with symptoms of CTDs at neck (sig = 0,037), working period with symptoms of CTDs at back (sig = 0,001), duration of work with symptoms of CTDs at upper arm (sig = 0,00) and duration of work with symptoms of CTDs at leg (sig = 0,002). Business owner should improves work tools to conform to ergonomic standards and workers should doing stretch before starting the job.

Abstract

Approximately 85-96%of work accident caused by malicious behavior or unsafe acts. Malicious behavior is human failure in following the requirements and work procedure, which has been set. The implementation of occupational safety and health has done well, but there are some workers who are not obey the rules and values of occupational safety and health. As seen some workers who do not use PPE during work. There are also works who do not comply the work SOP. This study aims to analysis correlation between knowledge, practice of implementing SOP, practice on using of PPE, and worker commitment with risk of work accidents in PT. X Tangerang. The research design used was analytical survey method with corss sectional approach. Population in this research is workers at PT. X Tangerang workshop with total 44 workers. The Sample in this study was taken from the total population. The research instrument in this study was a questionnaire with closed questions. Statistical analysis used was Rank Spearman Correlation test. The result showed no relationship between knowledge (p = 0,529) with risk of work accidents. While, there are 3 variable research showed there are correlation between practice of implementing SOP (p = 0,035), practice on using of PPE (p = 0,015), and worker commitment (p = 0,015) with risk of work accidents. Companies should pay attention to SOP placement, enforce rewards and punishment to workers, conducting daily morning safety talks, and involve workers in establishing or upgrading corporate health and safety values.

Abstract

Accident on working relationship is something that nobody want, that take place outside the working place and causing disadvantage. PT X is a manufacturing company that produce diesel engine in Semarang. PT X has applied the golden flagged SMK3, but the case of accident especialy on working relations are still at high number. From 2015 to 2017, analysis trend shows an escalation on accident rate from 4 to 6 case of accident. The investigation data shows that the most involved on accident at working relations come from warehouse employees. This is a descriptive qualitative research with an in-depth interview. Main informan are 3 warehouse workers that already had accident at working relation and 2 warehouse workers that never had an accident at working relations before. The triangulation informan are the chief of warehouse, safety leader of warehose and K3 expert from PT X. The outcome from the research shows that the cause of accident to the warehouse workers are substandard acts, substandard conditions, personal factors, job factors, inadequate program and inadequate standard. Substandard acts mentioned above are riding behavior that doesn’t meet the standart, include talking while riding, daydreaming, haste, high speed riding, and careless overtaking. Substandard conditions mentioned above are the condition of the road are accident prone, narrow, wavy, perforated, sharp turn, slippery and muddy. Personal factors mentioned above are stress that comes from working situation and skill of braking the motorcycle. Job factors mentioned above are extra overtime work and the job demand that has to be accomplished when the production rate is high. Inadequate program that mentioned above is the driving practice in safety riding training program that still use a motorcycle simulator and hasnt been practiced on the suitable road conditions as passed by the workers. Inadequate standard that mentioned above is the unavailablelity of driving SOP in PT X.

Abstract

Advances in technology have contributed alot to the positive growth in the industrial economy. Work stress is a condition that arises from the interaction between man and his work and is characterized by human change that forces them to deviate from their normal function.Each work can bring its own burdens to workers both physically, mentally and socially. Factors that cause work stress, include the physical state of uncomfortable working environment (noisy, dusty, smelly, hot and humid temperatures), non-ergonomic work stations, workshifts, long working hours, traffic jams on the way to work, high-risk and dangerous jobs, use of new technology, overloading, and adaptation to new types of work.PT Sandang Asia MajuAbadi is an expansive garment industry company so that the working demands on employees are very high for a good quality products to be marketed. This study aims to analyze the correlation of individual characteristics, physical working environment, mental workload, and work fatigue towards the occurrence of work stress. The study is conducted analytically with cross-sectional approach. The samples involved in this study are 108 laundry workers of the company. Data collected by inquiries filled by respondents, physical working environment and work fatigue measurements. According to the result showed by chi-square tests, the correlating variables are mental workload (p=0,001), working climate (p=0,006), noise level (p=0,043), lighting condition (p=0,031).

Abstract

Occupational stress describes the physical, mental, and emotional reaction of worker who perceive that their work demands exceed their abilities and their resource to do the work. The research aims to analyze the related factors of occupational stress on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Drivers performance in Semarang. The design of research conducted in this research is the explanatory research using cross sectional approach. The data was collated by using GHQ-12 questionnaire technique which arranged baseds on theoretically study. Driver at Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor II in Semarang with the total 37 drivers as a respondent. The result of research showed that there was correlation between personality (ρ=0,006) and individual role in organization (ρ=0,002) through occupational stress, but there was no correlation between age (ρ=0,485), work period (ρ=0,505) and job relationship (ρ=0,851) through occupational stress. The future, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) management should have provide socialization of hazard risk in work and the transparency of decision making in problem solving.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is the attitude of the worker to the work he does. Job satisfaction must be considered by human resource managers because it isrelated to level of health, performance, sustainability of labor (persistence) and productivity. The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between supervision, co-workers, salary, job security, work conditions, promotion and type of work with job satisfaction of employees of Union Savings and Loans X. This research is analytical research using cross-sectional study which is a form of observational research design. The population and sample in this research are 34 employees of Union Savings and Loans X. The instrument that used in this research are Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (to measure job satisfaction), Job Description Indexquestionnaire (to measure supervision, co-workers, salary, promotion and job type) and also job security and working conditions questionnaire. The result showed that there is correlation between supervision (sig = 0,034), salary (sig = 0,000), job security (sig 0,034), work condition (sig = 0,012), promotion (sig = 0,40) with job satisfaction. There is no correlation between co-workers (sig = 1,000) and job type (sig = 0.225) with job satisfaction. As many as 50% of employees are satisfied with their work. To increase employee satisfaction, the company should improve supersvision system, provide a fair payment system, improve the company security system, complete the jobsupport facility and improve the position promotion rule.

Abstract

Fatigue means a condition where there is a decreased on someone’s performance because of some factors, such as age, working period, breakfast habits, nutritional status, and work posture. Opak crackers workers in Ngadikerso Village, Semarang District have complaints on physical fatigue, category like pain on the back and shoulder, feeling thirsty frequently, experiencing tremors on limbs. They also have complaints about decreased performance category such as heaviness on head and leg, feeling sleepy, yawning, and standing unstable sometimes. The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors (age, working period, breakfast habit, nutritional status, and work posture) to work fatigue. The type of this research is using cross sectional studywhich is a form of observational study that is analytic descriptive. Population and the specimen of this research are 64 workers. Assessment instrument of work fatigue in this research is SSRT questionnaire. The result of this research is shows that there is connection between work fatigue level and age (p = 0,006), breakfast habit (p = 0,000), nutritional status (p = 0,013) dan work posture (p = 0,001). Besides that there is no relationship between work fatigue level and working period (p = 0,144). In this research, the workers are recommended to serve bread for breakfast substitutes, maintain diet, health checking, and stretching while working.

Abstract

Background: The era of the COVID-19 pandemic has triggered education for a learning innovation to keep it running safely, effectively and efficiently. Student practical learning needs to be facilitated by the existence of a virtual laboratory. The virtual electronic patient medical record laboratory is an integration of e-learning systems and health information systems. This system is a recommendation for independent practicum activities for health students, especially medical records and health information. The research objective is to design an electronic laboratory medical record system to increase access to independent learning. Subjects and Methods: The research design is an action research conducted at Poltekkes Tasikmalaya with stages of diagnosis, planning, action and evaluation system. The evaluation was carried out to see the level of usability of the system for users, namely students of medical records and health information. 54 respondents who filled out the online usability questionnaire using the total usability scale (SUS) method. Results: the electronic patient record laboratory system was successfully built up to the mockup design stage. This system is acceptable and feasible to be used as a recommendation for a virtual laboratory practice model for students. The usability score obtained 58 which means the marginal low and “ok” of adjective rating to use. Conclusions: the system gets a marginal usability rating of low and ok to use. System design to be more attractive and the interaction between features that need to be developed. It is recommended that this system be developed for mobile-based applications so that it can make it easier and increase motivation for practical learning for students independently. Abstract

Childhood is a time when a person begins to know everything and tends to remember things more easily. The concept of safety and health must be instilled since childhood. The purpose of this study was to describe the perception of potential safety and health hazards in elementary school students. This research is a qualitative research using the Focus Group Discussion method. The informants in this study were 40 students grade 5 from 2 elementary schools in Tembalang sub-district. The results showed that the informants had different perceptions in identifying hazards and the actions to be taken when they were injured. The source of information about the dangers was mostly obtained by informants from teachers and parents. The students have been able to identify potential safety and health hazards well. However, the guidance from parents and teachers is still needed regarding how to control these potential hazards.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kelelahan merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab tingginya kecelakaan kerja. Menurut data ILO tercatat setiap tahun sebanyak dua juta pekerja mengalami kecelakaan akibat faktor kelelahan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan beban kerja fisik terhadap kelelahan di tempat kerja dengan kebisingan tinggi pada pekerja industri informal pengolahan kayu di kecamatan Grabag. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 44 responden dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner karakteristik pekerja, pengukuran intensitas kebisingan menggunakan Noise dosimeter, pengukuran beban kerja fisik dengan metode denyut nadi, dan kelelahan kerja menggunakan KAUPK2. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji chi-square dengan α 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 29 responden (65,9%) mengalami lelah dan 15 responden (34,1%) mengalami kurang lelah. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara usia (p 0,000), masa kerja (p 0,042), dan beban kerja fisik (p 0,02) terhadap kelelahan kerja umum. Sedangkan status gizi tidak memiliki hubungan terhadap kelelahan kerja umum (p 0,656). Sarannya adalah pekerja sebaiknya memanfaatkan waktu istirahat dengan optimal untuk meminimalisir kelelahan kerja yang dialami.
