Abstract

One of the efforts of an organization or company in achieving its goal was by having a good performance. There were several factors that affect the performance of employees, one of which was the job stress. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of job stress on performance of outsourcing employee on feed division in PT. X. This was an explanatory research with cross sectional method. The number of samples in this study were 57 respondents. The data analysis was using logistic regression test to determine whether the job stress affects the employees performance. The results showed that 71,9% of respondents were having high level of job stres, and 70,2% of respondents were having low level of performance. Crosstab bivariat analysis showed that 65,8% respondent with high level of job stress were having low performance. Logistic regression test with p value Wald test (Sig) 0,261 ≥ 0,05 meant that there were no significant effect of job stress on employees performance. Therefore it can be concluded that there were no significant effect of job stress on employees performance. It was recommended for the company to make posters that contain job descriptions, organize recreational activities or outbound, give reward and provide a suggestion box.

Abstract

Work stress is an emotional condition that occurs because of the gap between the level of demand and the ability to cope with stress received due to demands at work. Any work have potential danger of work stress including working as a civil servant in the Regional Disaster Management Agency. The purpose of this research was to analyze factors that related to work stress. The design of this research was explanatory research with cross-sectional approach. Population in this research was 48 civil servants of BPBD Kota Semarang. Questionnaire was used as an instrument in this research. Measurement of work stress was assessed by GHQ-12 questionnaire. Statistical analysis was used chi-square test. The results of the research showed that there was a relation between work period (p=0.015), personality (p=0.008), individual role in organization (p=0.041), and work relations (p=0.034) with work stress, while there was no relation between age (p=0.184), task demands (p=0.109), career development (p=0.073) and organizational structure and climate (p=0.178) with work stress. Researchers suggest giving socialization to employees about the risks of work stress at work, socialization clarity of responsibility, stretching while working, sharing about work issues with colleagues and organizing recreational or outbound activities on days off to reduce employee stress problems.

Abstract

Safety driving is a driving behavior to help driver in avoiding traffic problems. Data from the Directorate General of Land Transportation or “Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Darat” shows, the number of public transport cars in the year 2012 was 10 million units, an increase of 1.2 million units from the previous year. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to safety driving practice of public transport driver of Banyumanik-Johar route in Semarang. This research used quantitative research that employed cross sectional study. This research utilized purposive sample approach. The population in this study was the drivers of public transport of Banyumanik-Johar route. The total number of drivers was 204 people. Thus, a total sample of 40 respondents were selected based on age criteria that was between 18 to 40 years old. Rank Spearman test was used at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that education was not significanly associated with safety driving with p-value = 0,763. Work period was not significanly associated with safety driving with p-value = 0,471. Knowledge was significanly associated with safety driving with p-value = 0,004. The supervisor role was not significanly associated with safety driving with p-value = 1. The friends role was not significanly associated with safety driving with p-value = 0,616. The car condition was not significanly associated with safety driving with p-value = 0,108

Abstract

Safety driving is an effective way to reduce the incidence of accidents due to driver inattention while driving. In Indonesia, the cause of most accidents are caused by human error, which reached 90%. Traffic accidents are one of the safety risks to the driver economi bus which lasts for 24 hours a day.This study aims to identify the factors of related safety driving on driver bus economic class route Semarang – Surabaya in Terboyo terminal Semarang. This type of research is analytic survey with cross sectional study. Subjects in this study is the economic driver of the bus route Semarang - Surabaya in “Terminal Terboyo” as key informants. The sample in this study included all economic bus driver route Surabaya - Semarang totaling 40 with different “PO”.Based on the results of the study, researchers concluded that the level of education is not associated premises driving safety, with α = 0.763, years of dealing with driving safety, with α = 0.003, attitudes related to driving safety, with α = 0.004, training driving safety related with driving safety, with α = 0.002, the rules relating to driving safety, with α = 0.003, vehicle conditions related to driving safety, with α = 0.003, the role of co-workers related to driving safety, with α = 0.004, knowledge related to driving safety, with a α = 0.004.Researchers suggested that the held improvement to vehicle tires that has begun to thin, repair sewers that have developed porous at the bottom, and repair speedometer that is not lit, providing training on the driver's safety driving.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is very important to improve employee and organizational performance. Employees will have a positive feelings toward their work if their job satisfaction are high. One of some factors that influence job satisfaction is companies policy, inclulding job rotation. Job rotation is implemented to avoid job saturation, so that employees feel comfortable in working. The impact of job dissatisfaction are increasing of employees turnover and absenteeism. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of job rotation and level of job satisfaction of auditors at head office of Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan Republik Indonesia (BPK RI) Jakarta. This study used an explanatory research with cross sectional approach. Population of this study were 1.064 and the number of sample in this research were 90 respondents, where proportional random sampling technique was used to determine samples. Data were collected by interview. Brayfield Rothe Index (BRI) questionnaire was used as an intrument to determine variable in job satisfaction. Data were analyzed using Rank Spearmen test with a 0.05 significance level. The results of this study indicate that some 55.6% odf auditors at the headquarters of BPK RI have a high level of job satisfaction and 52.2% of auditors rate that implementation of job rotation at BPK RI are proper. From this study, it can be concluded that there’s correlation of job rotation and level of job satisfaction (p-value=0.003).

Abstract

Disabled is a disorder or disability that caused disruption the body function, this disorder can be happen at limb bones, body muscles, or at the joints, both congenital or got by accident or disease. The using of tools such as prostheses used to support the daily activities of the disabled people so they can live independently and not depend on others. The aim of this research is to analyze the benefit of prosthetic limbs with the physical activity of the diffable people in association of physical disabilities and entrepreneurial. This research used qualitative research by observational approach and descriptive analytic. The informants of this research were the disabled people who using prothesa in association of physical disabilities and entrepreneurial. The number of informants in this research is 8 informants. This research was done by in-depth interview and observation. Validity test was done by triangulation and technique. The result of this research shows that all of the informants have the motivation in the use of prostheses which is to become rise up so they can fulfilled their daily needs. All of the informants had known the function of the use of prostheses with the physical activity and seven of them knew the types of treatment that done to the prostheses. All of the informants can do physical activities such self-care, mobility but about take the stairs they still need a little to middle help, depends on the type of amputation. All of informants said that they can do physical activities just like the normal people but in longer frequency because they need to adjust their balance from the body movement. It’s recommended for the informants to do treatment towards their prostheses such as giving oil at the joints, add more rubber at their footware so it won’t be slippery and do cleaning so the prostheses will keep clean

Abstract

In the development of the logistics rapid growth, removal and transporting goods indispensible the existence of a conveyance forklift, the container crane for example. It’s operated by an operator with a seated position and bent over four hours in static position, and very risky to face the fatigue complaints so as to be attracting many sides. This research was aimed to recognized the relationship between working posture with working fatigue on container crane operator. The research was qualitative research with cross sectional research design. The subject in this research was all container crane operator which totaled 42 people. The data analysis used Chi-square with alternate Fisher’s Exact Test with 95 % of significance level. The measurement of working posture used RULA method while the working fatigue measurement used Alat Ukur Perasaan Kelelahan Kerja questionnaire (KAUPK2). The results showed that there was a relationship between working posture (p = 0,0001) with working fatigue complaint in container crane operator, there was no relationship between the age (p = 0,188) and tenure (p = 0,225) with the working fatigue complaint. It was suggested to the company to rejuvenate the old container crane with the new which was more ergonomic so as to be reduce the number of working fatigue complaint.

Abstract

Back pain is a phenomenon that often encounter in everyday life. One of the causes of back pain are manual handling. Porter in Tawang Station still using manpower without any supporting tools on doing their job. Lift transport job, like what porter did, the burden lies in the muscles especially on the back. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between back muscle strength and back pain of porter in Tawang Station on 2016. This study is a quantitative research with cross sectional design.The instrument used is the Body Map (to collect personal data such as age, years of service, smoking habits, and exercise habits also complaints of pain on body part) and Back Leg Chest Dynamometer (to measure the strength of the back muscles). The study population was the entire porter Tawang Station in total 60 people. Determination of the study sample using purposive sampling technique, which we did not measure if the back pain radiating to the leg because there’s a probability diagnozed of Herniated Nucleus Pulposus (HNP) and the measurement feared would make the condition even worse. From these techniques was obtained 57 respondents.The results showed that there was significant relation between back muscle strength and back pain complain of porter in Tawang Station. Spearman Rank correlation test results, confidence level of 95%, p = 0.001 (p <0.05) and the correlation coefficient r = -0.412. Therefore, it’s necessary to do back muscle strengthen exercise, exercising and strecthing regularly to maintain back flexibility which then would minimize the risk of back pain.

Abstract

Personal protective equipment (PPE) was a tool used by workers to protect themselves from potential hazards and accidents that are likely to occur in the workplace. They are required to use PPE in accordance with the Governor Regulation of the Special Province of Jakarta Capital City Number 6 of 2016 to minimize workplace accidents and occupational diseases. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between age, working period, education, knowledge, attitude, supervision, co-workers and available of PPE with the complience to use PPE in workers in PPSU workers in . The research used analitic observation method with cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was 98 people and 49 sample were taken. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Instrument research used questionnaire and checklist. The results of this study indicate that 79.6% of respondents do not comply using PPE. Based on the chi-square test, the variables related to compliance with PPE use were education level (p = 0.030), knowledge (p = 0.021), attitude (p = 0.003), supervision (p = 0.037) and co-workers (p = 0.037) . While the variables that are not related to compliance with the use of PPE are age (p = 1,000), working period (p = 0.459) and the availability of PPE (p = 0.311). The researcher gave advice to the office to make an SOP on the use of PPE and to disseminate it to PPSU workers so that they understood about the function of PPE.

Abstract

Public health faculty X University is one of the working area that contain high level potential hazard which under working more than 100 workers. According to the characteristic, Public Health X university should implement safety and health management system according to Government Law No. 50 year 2012. However, until now, they have not already implemented safety and health management system. One of the fundamental principal to safety and health management system is commitment. The purpose of this research was to analyse how far the leader commitment towards institution readiness through implementation safety and health management system. The method of this research was qualitative research with in depth interview and observational approach. Interviews were conducted to top leader on public health faculty with triangulation to supportive party on safety and health management system faculty, such as Vice Dean II and Chairman of logistic and  administration. Result showed that leader commitment form could be observed by resources through the availability of safety and health expertise, funding, facility and infrastructure, communication on safety induction or safety signates, and training to occupational safety and health student. No rules to regulate implementation safety and health management system in X University finally made the implementation of safety and health management system were not become the priority. Public Health Faculty X can make initiation to implement safety and health management system around X University with safety communication, safety maintenace, and emergency response preparedness simulation.
