Abstract

The taxation sector increasingly demands skilled professionals to support national revenue and economic growth. However, students’ interest in pursuing a tax career remains low due to perceptions of complexity and limited professional exposure. This study aims to examine the influence of Tax Self-Efficacy and Professional Competences on Tax Career Interest, with Job Opportunities as a moderating variable. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, surveying 126 students participating in the Tax Volunteer Program at the Directorate General of Taxes East Java III Regional Office. Data were collected via online questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that Professional Competences have a positive and significant effect on Tax Career Interest, whereas Tax Self-Efficacy alone does not. Job Opportunities significantly strengthen the relationship between Tax Self-Efficacy and Tax Career Interest but do not moderate the effect of Professional Competences. These findings highlight the dominant role of personal competences in shaping career interest and the importance of integrating experiential learning through tax volunteer programs to enhance students’ motivation and career readiness. The study provides practical implications for educational institutions and tax authorities in designing programs that combine professional training with real-world experience to foster human resource development in the taxation sector.

Abstract

Effective financial management is crucial for students, especially those studying abroad, as they face complex economic environments. Based on this condition this study examines the influence of financial literacy, financial planning, and impulsive buying behavior, both partially and simultaneously, on personal financial management among Timor-Leste international students in Malang, Indonesia. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, surveying 97 students selected through purposive sampling from seven universities. Data were collected via online questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that financial literacy has a positive but non-significant effect on personal financial management, while financial planning and impulsive buying behavior have positive and significant effects on personal financial management, with regression coefficients of 0.243 and 0.294, respectively. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly influence personal financial management, indicating that combined knowledge, planning, and controlled spending behaviors determine the quality of financial management. These findings highlight the importance of financial planning and behavioral management in fostering effective personal financial management and provide practical implications for educational institutions in enhancing students’ financial decision-making skills. Keywords: Financial literacy, financial planning, impulsive buying, personal financial management.

Abstract

The growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) increasingly requires the utilisation of information technology capable of providing accurate and relevant data to support strategic decision-making. In this context, the implementation of an Accounting Information System (AIS) must be evaluated to ascertain its contribution to managerial performance. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of AIS implementation in supporting strategic decisions at the MSME Toko Besi Bima Raya Group by employing the DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model as an analytical framework. A qualitative approach with a case study design was adopted. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the owner, store managers, cashiers, and operational staff, complemented by direct observation and examination of financial records. The data were analysed thematically based on six construct of the model: system quality, information quality, service quality, use, user satisfaction, and net benefits. The findings indicate that the system effectively supports daily operations through its ease of use and alignment with business requirements. The information generated is regarded as accurate, timely, and comprehensive in facilitating inventory management, cash flow monitoring, and sales evaluation. However, the service dimension requires further improvement, particularly regarding technical assistance and advanced feature development. The high frequency of system utilisation contributes to user satisfaction and results in improved stock control efficiency and enhanced quality of strategic decisions. It is concluded that AIS effectiveness depends on the integration of system quality, information quality, service support, and user experience, thereby necessitating continuous evaluation to sustain MSME performance.
