Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: The increasingly intense competition in the modern banking industry demands strategic human resource (HR) management to maintain competitive advantage. The success of financial institutions, particularly Bank Jatim as one of the largest regional development banks in Indonesia, is determined not only by asset and profit growth but also by the quality of employee performance, as they serve as the frontline in delivering services. Internal challenges such as the effectiveness of reward programs, the relevance of training, and variations in employee work motivation have the potential to affect the company’s target achievement, despite positive trends in financial indicators. This study aims to analyze the effect of rewards and training on employee performance at Bank Jatim, Lumajang Branch, with work motivation as an intervening variable. The study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, involving 127 employees as respondents. Data were collected using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that rewards and training have a significant positive effect on employee performance, while work motivation does not significantly affect performance nor mediate the influence of the two variables. Rewards have the strongest effect through interpersonal recognition, while training is more impactful through instructor quality, though the relevance of training materials still needs improvement. Work motivation tends to be high in terms of self-actualization but low in terms of job security, thus limiting its contribution to performance.

This community service program aims to provide business owners in Malang City with practical knowledge and skills on how to manage assets efficiently and in a structured manner. This training program aims to provide practical knowledge and skills to business actors in Malang City in managing assets efficiently and structurally. More specifically, this training can form simple and practical calculation methods that can be applied sustainably in MSMEs in Malang City. This program uses a service learning method consisting of the stages of socialization, education, training, and evaluation. In the education stage, participants were given an understanding of asset management theory supported by relevant literature so that they could apply the concepts in business. The training focused on the practical use of Excel formats for recording inventory, supplies & equipment, and fixed asset management. Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by Generation Z high spending tendencies and consumerist lifestyle, which makes it difficult to minimize expenses and save. Therefore, managing wealth and financial resources requires adequate skills and knowledge. Investing is a method of financial and wealth management that individual can implement. Lack of financial literacy and high-risk perception are often the main barriers affecting their interest in investing. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and risk perception on investment interest in these two instruments. A quantitative research approach was employed, using Purposive Sampling to select respondents aged 17-26 years from Malang Raya, resulting in 65 participants. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques. The results indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on investment interest in both the capital market and gold. This means that the higher an individual's financial literacy, the greater the likelihood of their interest in investing. However, risk perception has a significant negative impact on investment interest in gold, while its effect on the capital market is not significant. This suggests that although financial literacy encourages investment interest, concerns about risk can hinder investment decisions, especially regarding gold. Further comparative tests reveal that Generation Z shows a greater interest in investing in gold compared to the capital market. This phenomenon may be related to the perception of gold investment as safer or easier to understand. Keywords: Financial literacy; investment interest; risk perception; generation z.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed financial behavior, particularly among Generation Z, who are increasingly exposed to investment opportunities through digital platforms. However, their readiness to invest is often constrained by limited financial literacy, leading to impulsive or poorly informed investment decisions. This study addresses the problem of how risk appetite and digital financial skills influence Generation Z’s investment intention, with financial literacy acting as a mediating variable. The objective of this research is to analyze both the direct and indirect effects of psychological and digital factors on investment intention within the framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior. A quantitative approach with a causal-comparative design was employed, using purposive sampling to collect primary data from 160 Generation Z respondents in Malang City through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0, which enabled the evaluation of measurement reliability, validity, and structural relationships. The results show that risk appetite, digital financial skills, and financial literacy each have a positive and significant effect on investment intention. Furthermore, financial literacy was found to significantly mediate the influence of both risk appetite and digital financial skills on investment intention. These findings highlight the critical role of financial literacy in transforming psychological willingness and digital competencies into informed investment behavior. The study contributes to the literature on financial behavior and provides practical insights for enhancing financial education strategies, particularly in strengthening sharia-based investment participation.

Abstract

This study explores the development strategy of Do-Dolan Kampung as a sustainable culinary tourism destination based on local wisdom and analyzes the role of social media in promoting tourism without compromising cultural values. The goal is to enhance the welfare of the community in Ditotrunan Village, Lumajang. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method was used. Data were collected through interviews, participatory observation, document analysis, and focus group discussions. SWOT analysis was applied to assess management and promotional strategies via social media. The findings show that Do-Dolan Kampung successfully promotes local wisdom-based culinary tourism through strong community participation and creative use of social media. Social media has proven effective in increasing tourist attraction while preserving cultural values. However, challenges persist in terms of infrastructure, digital literacy, and the risk of cultural commercialization. This research contributes theoretically by integrating local wisdom and digital strategies within the framework of community-based tourism. Its originality lies in focusing on a small, self-managed urban tourism destination that emphasizes cultural identity as its main appeal. The Do-Dolan Kampung model serves as a good example for other villages or districts aiming to develop tourism based on local wisdom and support for MSMEs. Practically, this study offers strategic insights for tourism managers and local governments to develop sustainable, culturally sensitive tourism. However, the research is limited to a single site and uses a qualitative approach, which restricts the generalizability of the findings. Limitations in time and access to digital data also posed challenges in evaluating the full impact of social media promotions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of online promotion, service quality, and price on the sustainability of culinary MSMEs in Dodolan Kampung, Lumajang. This study also aims to identify the most dominant factor influencing business sustainability among the three variables. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through a structured questionnaire. The research sample consists of 80 respondents who are MSME consumers participating in Dodolan Kampung, with a non-probability sampling technique. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the effect of online promotion, service quality, and price on MSME sustainability. The results show that service quality and price have a positive and significant effect on the sustainability of culinary MSMEs in Dodolan Kampung. However, online promotion does not show a significant effect. Of the three variables tested, service quality is the most dominant factor in supporting business sustainability. This study contributes theoretically by presenting empirical evidence on the sustainability of culinary MSMEs from a marketing perspective, particularly in the context of local community-based initiatives such as Dodolan Kampung. The findings of this study challenge common assumptions about the effectiveness of digital promotion, showing that service quality and price play a more important role than online promotion in small-scale businesses in non-urban areas. This study implies that MSME players need to optimize digital promotion, improve service quality, and implement value-based pricing strategies to maintain business sustainability. For policymakers, these findings can serve as a basis for designing digital marketing and customer service training programs and providing policy support that promotes the sustainable competitiveness of MSMEs. This study has limitations in terms of geographical scope, as it only covers culinary MSMEs in Banguntapan District, so the results cannot be generalized to other regions or different MSME sectors. In addition, the quantitative approach used does not explore in depth qualitative factors such as motivation, business culture, and customer relationship dynamics that may also influence MSME sustainability
