Abstract

Mangrove forests are specific vegetation structures and grow along coastlines in the tropics, river mouths, and are affected by tides. Its existence supports many ecosystems such as nutrient cycling and fisheries production. This condition is supported by high visual potential and natural resources that make mangrove forests a tourist destination. In the Sukadana Mangrove forest, visitors have different preferences regarding interesting spots. This is evidenced by the accumulation of the number of visitors at a certain point. According to preliminary data obtained, there has been a decrease in the number of visitors since the opening of the tourist sites in 2017, approximately 50% per year. The contributing factor is the lack of development, so the visual impression tends to be monotonous. The problem in this study is the need for evaluation efforts in the form of an assessment of the visual quality of the Sukadana Mangrove Forest landscape. The purpose of this study is the presence of visual quality values can facilitate efforts to preserve certain areas in order to achieve sustainable ecotourism. The analytical method used Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE), is a quantitative method for assessing the aesthetics of the landscape based on visitors’ perceptions by comparing one point to another. The results obtained are that visitors prefer landscapes with natural ambience and boardwalk facilities for taking selfies, while dirty, dry and damaged facilities will be avoided. The conclusion of this study is that the Sukadana mangrove forest has a certain area of interest to visitors, as evidenced by the values in the SBE analysis.

Abstract

Open space is a space that is used for joint activities in the open air, while the kinds are green open spacesand built-in open spaces (public and private). A space will have meaning if there is human activity in it andnot only as an abandoned space. In this study, an open space design was carried out, with changes in theland use function of agricultural land. Park area designed for 3,100 m2. After discussing with local residents, sports facilities are needed in Balearjosari Village. The reason for choosing the location is that the surroundingconditions are still natural and in the countryside so that it attracts visitors to the area. Another facility neededis a recreation area in the form of a children’s playground. This study aims to create the concept of Balearjosaripark as recreation and sport with a landscape architecture approach. The research method used the designmethod as a development of the theory of Gold (1988) and Hakim (2012), namely by the stages of surveyand interview, analysis and synthesis, ideas and continued with the design concept. The results in this studyare in the form of various concepts consisting of basic concepts, form concepts, space concepts, circulationconcepts, activity and facilities concepts, vegetation concepts, and material concepts. Its novelty value issolving problems according to the needs of the park in that location, making it different from other areas. Theconclusion is that the solutions offered by landscape architects can provide an overview to the community inthe form of recreational and educational park design concepts, according to community needs. Abstract

A city park is an open space in an urban area that functions as a balance between nature and greenery andhuman activities, such as recreation or a place to rest from daily activities. This condition requires a gardendesign that provides comfort, so it needs vegetation and other facilities supporting street furniture. Openspace in public facilities is called public open space and includes green open space (RTH). The function ofRTH is to improve the quality of life of urban communities, encourage the creation of public space activitiesfor the community, add aesthetic value to urban areas, create a comfortable atmosphere for pedestrians, and so on. The focus of the study in this research is on the City Recreation Park (tarekot), which is located inthe center of Malang city, not far from Tugu square. The condition of the park, in general, has not undergonemuch development, so there has been no increase in the number of visitors. The problem is the pattern ofless functional space for visitors (especially children), the lack of a level of security because this park islocated beside a river, there is no division of games based on age. A garden will be safe and comfortable forthe broader community if facilities are provided for children to play in the playground. This research limits theprovision of facilities for children. The research method used is a design method with a thinking approachfrom Gold (1980), Hakim (2012), and Setyabudi (2016). The results of this study are the results of a proposedredesign with the concept of a children’s playground. Keywords: City Park, Green Open Space, Suitable for Children, Redesign

Abstract

Pamekasan Avalokitesvara Vihara is a place of worship for Buddhists and also a tourist spot for all believers, both Buddhists and non-Buddhists. Located in Candi Village, Polagan District, Pamekasan City. This monastery is often used as a place of worship and tourism, studying the history of Buddhist culture, or even just for recreation. It started with the discovery of four statues in the Talang Siring beach area around three hundred years ago. Around the 1800s, the original monastery building was burned down, efforts to rebuild it were carried out in 1951. Currently, the monastery building is still being renovated in stages to get closer to the initial building form, apart from that there is also the addition of a new building function, namely a monk’s shrine. The problem faced by researchers is how to identify the use of space and the spatial dynamics of the spaces at the Pamekasan Avalokitesvara Vihara, in addition to the lack of vegetation arrangement and facility maintenance. This is due to the need to carry out architectural identification and analysis, so that the spatial side of the growth and development of space can be known. The analysis method was carried out using Participatory Mapping and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) instruments. The final result of this research is that the character of the historical landscape and the concept of space can be identified which are divided into 3 core zones, buffer zones and utilization zones.
