Abstract

Genotoxic effect is related to the mutation of the gene in the DNA. Caesalpinia sappan L. is one of Caesalpiniaceae family found in Indonesia containing brazilin and brazilein. It has been reported to have antioxidant activity and could potentially be used in the prevention of DNA damage. The aim of this study is to know the activity of Caesalpinia sappan L. ethanolic extract (CEE) as antigenotoxic agent. Caesalpinia sappan L. heartwood was macerated with 70% ethanol. The antigenotoxic activity was observed by micronucleus assay in vivo modeled by cyclophosphamide-induced female Swiss mice. CEE treatment was done with the dosage of 250, 500, and 1000 mg/kgBW. Mice peripheral blood was taken in the end of the study and observed for the number of mononuclear polychromatic erythrosite (MNPCE) by Giemsa staining. Molecular docking was done to evaluate the affinity of brazilin, brazilein, and cyclophosphamide to CYP 3A4 enzyme. Based on the study, CEE has antigenotoxic activity showed by the number of MNPCE which is reduced significantly compared to cyclophosphamide control group. The mechanism of antigenotoxic activity is probably because of the inhibition of cyclophosphamide binding to CYP 3A4 enzyme by brazilin and brazilein, as the affinity to CYP 3A4 of brazilin and brazilein were higher than cyclophosphamide.            Keyword: Antigenotoxic, MNPCE Assay, Caesalpinia sappan L.

Abstract

Background: Technological advancements in healthcare have driven BPJS Kesehatan Indonesia to develop the Mobile JKN application to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and quality of services. Despite its potential benefits, the implementation of this application faces various challenges, such as application errors, differing levels of digital literacy, and data security issues, necessitating an evaluation of its adoption and acceptance. Aims: To analyse the public acceptance of Mobile JKN based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) variable while also exploring user experiences towards the application. Methods: A descriptive-analytical approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected through a questionnaire developed based on the TAM model, involving 406 respondents across Indonesia. Data analysis was performed using a regression linear test with SPSS after all basic assumptions were met. Results:  Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, and Attitude Toward Use individually and simultaneously impact Actual System Use (Sig. 0.000; R-Square 0.827). Respondents generally answered “Agree” to all TAM indicators, with mean scores of 4.20 for Perceived Usefulness, 4.16 for Perceived Ease of Use, 4.25 for Attitude Toward Use, and 4.33 for Actual System Use. Most users accessed the app through self-access (48%), frequently used features were membership information (28%), and encountered issues such as application errors (25%). Conclusion: The app was deemed relevant, accurate, easy to use, and beneficial. To enhance public acceptance, BPJS Kesehatan should focus on developing a user-friendly Mobile JKN app by incorporating key TAM factors, optimizing popular features, improving technical stability, and regularly addressing user feedback to ensure effective health administration and service delivery. Abstract

Background: Health applications are a crucial technological advancement in healthcare, enhancing service quality and access to essential information. Despite this, challenges in implementation and user adaptation remain. Evaluating these applications is vital, and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) provides a dependable framework for assessing user acceptance and meeting its intended goals. Objectives: This review aims to explore the use of the TAM method for evaluating health applications adoption in Asia, focusing on ease of use, usefulness, user attitudes, and factors affecting technology acceptance. Methods: The method used is Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Articles were gathered using PubMed and ScienceDirect employing Boolean search terms. The search focuses on technology acceptance and health applications, combined with the names of Asian countries. Eligible studies must describe the technology acceptance model of a health application in Asia. Quality assessment is performed using JBI and data are systematically extracted and analyzed. Results: A total of 11 original articles meet the inclusion criteria from 2428 articles. TAM plays a pivotal role in understanding the adoption of healthcare technology in Asia. TAM original constructs are widely used, with some integrating additional factors. Continued integration and modification of TAM will enhance its utility in addressing evolving healthcare challenges, ultimately improving healthcare outcomes across diverse user settings. TAM's adaptability and integration with theories like PMT and SUS improve its relevance across various healthcare settings and user contexts. Conclusion: Future research should mitigate biases, employ longitudinal and comparative analyses, and integrate TAM with complementary theories to advance healthcare technology adoption.

Abstract

Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are increasingly recognized as vital tools for enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of healthcare delivery. Despite regulatory mandates in Indonesia, the adoption of EMRs remains uneven, particularly in rural healthcare settings. This study applied the Unified Theory of Acceptance and apply of Technology (UTAUT) to investigate the behavioral intention of healthcare professionals working in private hospitals to use electronic medical records. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was implemented involving 90 participants selected through purposive sampling in an Indonesian hospital. The study's data were gathered between October 2024 and January 2025 using a validated 18-item UTAUT-based questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted with SPSS and SmartPLS software. Results indicated that all four UTAUT construct – Performance Expectancy (β = 0.200, p = 0.016), Effort Expectancy (β = 0.353, p < 0.001), Social Influence (β = 0.291, p < 0.001), and Facilitating Conditions (β = 0.262, p = 0.008 – had statistically significant positive effects on Behavioral Intention. The model demonstrated moderate explanatory power (R² = 0.655) and strong predictive relevance (Q² = 0.512). These results validate the UTAUT model's suitability in this context and provide practical insights for strengthening EMR implementation strategies. Future research should consider longitudinal approaches and multi-site comparisons to enhance generalizability and policy relevance.
