Abstract

Background: Virtual exchange programs offer several benefits, including enhancing students’ knowledge, promoting technological literacy, and fostering cross-cultural exchange between countries. However, student participation in virtual exchanges remains relatively low. Objective: This study aimed to compare the motivation to participate in virtual exchange programs between nursing students with and without prior experience in online courses. Methods: A comparative study design with purposive sampling was used. Nursing students who had previously participated in online courses (n = 53) and those who had not (n = 47) completed a 29-item motivation questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test to assess differences in motivation between the two groups. Results: Students with prior online course experience demonstrated higher motivation to participate in virtual exchanges (84.8%) compared to those without such experience (70.4%). The Mann–Whitney U test revealed a significant difference in motivation between the two groups (p = 0.003).Conclusion: Online course participation appears to be a motivating factor for nursing students to engage in virtual exchange programs. Encouraging involvement in online learning may serve as an effective strategy to prepare nursing students for future participation in international collaborations and the global healthcare market.

Abstract

Introduction: Patient loyalty represents a critical challenge for hospitals and other healthcare organizations. A low level of patient loyalty may negatively affect an institution’s competitiveness and reflect poorly on the quality of healthcare services and workforce performance. In increasingly diverse healthcare settings, incorporating values that align with patients’ beliefs and expectations may play a role in fostering satisfaction and loyalty. This study aims to analyze the relationship between implementing Islamic values in inpatient care and patient loyalty. Method: This study applied a correlational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected from a sample of 100 inpatients, selected through consecutive sampling over a two-week period. The study investigated the relationship between the implementation of Islamic values and patient loyalty. Two instruments were used to measure the study variables: the Islamic Service Questionnaire and the Patient Loyalty Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank-order correlation test to determine the strength and direction of the association between the two variables. Results: A total of 66% of patients perceived the implementation of Islamic values by nurses to fall within the moderate category. Similarly, 70% of patients demonstrated a moderate level of loyalty. Statistical analysis using the Spearman rank-order correlation test showed a significant relationship between the implementation of Islamic values and patient loyalty (p = 0.009; rₛ = 0.260), indicating a positive, albeit weak, correlation between the two variables. Conclusion: This study demonstrates a significant positive relationship between the implementation of Islamic values in nursing care and patient loyalty in inpatient settings. By addressing spiritual needs, modifying the care environment to reflect Islamic principles, and providing adequate worship facilities, healthcare institutions may enhance the overall patient experience and increase retention. Future research is recommended to explore the long-term impact of faith-based care models on patient outcomes in broader and more diverse hospital settings.

An important factor or triggers the habit of academic procrastination, one of which is time management. This research aims to analyze the relationship of time management with academic procrastination habits in nursing students. Method: This study uses analytic correlation design. The sample was taken with a simple random sampling technique that is as many as 110 respondents. Data collected from respondents using questionnaire sheets, then tested using spearman rho test. Results: The results showed that 77 students (70%) had adequate time management. Student prokrastization is in the moderate range, which is 72 students (65.5%). Spearman Rho test obtained a value of P = 0.000, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between time management and the academic procrastination habits of nursing students. Conclusions: A good timing management such as preparing to make a list of everything that will be done which is arranged according to their level of importance, arrange activities to be carried out so that they are self-disciplined, determine task priorities according to their vital level of importance, arrange what is being done today and tomorrow will have an impact on the low habit of academic procrastination. Abstract

Nurses work conflict due to lack of balance between work and personal life in health services. Nurses, as the largest health workforce, should have a high work-life balance so they can provide quality service to patients. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between work conflict and nurses' work life balance. This research design uses a cross-sectional approach. The population was 107 nurses and selected using cluster random sampling so that there were 81 nurses. Research data was taken using a questionnaire instrument. Research shows that almost all (97.5%) nurses experience high work conflict, and almost all (67.9%) experience low work-life balance. Based on the results of the analysis using the Spearman Rho test, the value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) and value = -0.618, meaning that H1 is accepted so that there is a relationship between work conflict and work life balance among nurses. Organizational support and the role of superiors play an important role in reducing work conflict and increasing work life balance with minimal conflict occurring in the workplace.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common issue among students, negatively impacting motivation, increasing stress levels, and leading to suboptimal academic performance. Self-regulated learning is regarded as an effective strategy to address this problem, as it encourages students to manage their learning process independently, including planning, implementation, and self-evaluation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-regulated learning and academic procrastination among nursing students. It employed an analytical correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 124 students selected through stratified random sampling. The independent variable was self-regulated learning, while the dependent variable was academic procrastination. Data collection was conducted using the Academic Procrastination Scale (APS) questionnaire and a self-regulated learning scale questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman rank test. The findings indicate that the majority of students exhibited a moderate level of self-regulated learning (96 students, 77.4%) and academic procrastination (96 students, 77.4%). Statistical analysis yielded a value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient (r) = -0.397, indicating a negative relationship between self-regulated learning and academic procrastination among nursing students. These results suggest that students should develop a greater awareness of their academic responsibilities and set clear learning goals. Future research is recommended to explore the role of conscientiousness in academic procrastination.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) present a major challenge for nurses in managing various administrative and technical demands, often leading to difficulties in documentation. These challenges can be addressed by improving work motivation and the quality of healthcare services. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between work motivation and the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) among nurses. An analytic correlational study with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The sample consisted of 117 nurses selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Spearman rho test via SPSS software. The results showed that the majority of nurses had high work motivation (72 nurses, 61.5%), and most classified their EMR use as moderate (63 nurses, 53.8%). Statistical analysis indicated a significant positive correlation between work motivation and EMR usage (p = 0.000; rs = 0.065), suggesting a strong positive association between these variables among nurses in the inpatient ward of Dr. Soegiri Regional Public Hospital, Lamongan. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that most nurses demonstrated high work motivation while EMR usage remained moderate. This research may serve as a valuable reference in developing strategies to enhance nursing service quality through optimal and sustainable use of technology.
