Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology and the growing demand for improving the quality of healthcare resources have become significant concerns. The iSalman application was developed to support students in enhancing their learning capabilities. This study aimed to examine the effect of the iSalman application on students' knowledge, clinical experience, and competency test outcomes. A quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design (one-group pre-test and post-test) was conducted from January to October 2023. A total of 257 students from the midwifery and nursing study programs were selected using purposive total sampling. The results showed a statistically significant positive correlation between the use of the iSalman mobile application and clinical experience (r = 0.672, p < 0.001). Furthermore, 99.2% of the students were found to be competent based on the competency test results. The iSalman application is effective in improving students' capabilities and has the potential to increase users’ confidence during competency evaluations. Future research should involve a broader range of participants and explore additional application features.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the attitudes, perceptions of abilities, barriers, and expectations of IAIN Indonesia lecturers in the use of ICT in online English learning. The research method uses "explanatory sequential". The research sample was selected randomly and purposively. Questionnaires and interviews are used to collect the data. The quantitative data were analyzed by the SPSS program, while the interview findings were analyzed qualitatively. 80% of lecturers had positive views toward ICT use during class planning, according to the results (M = 4.2, SD = 0.7). They were thought to have a modest level of ICT proficiency, especially when it came to implementing lessons (M = 3.92, SD = 0.86). According to reports, there were few obstacles, mostly because of inadequate training and a lack of teaching facilities (M = 2.3, SD = 1.1). Expectations were high, particularly with regard to ongoing training and access to ICT infrastructure (M = 4.45, SD = 0.8). The results of this study in general, provide an overview of the attitudes and abilities that must be possessed by lecturers to minimize challenges in the hope of realizing the optimal use of ICT in online English learning.

Abstract

The goals of this study were to learn about students' perspectives on literature and blogs for teaching Islamic values to the millennial generation. This research was mixed-methods research. The subject of this study was the millennial generation at the Islamic State Institute Curup, especially students of the English Tadris Study Program. The instruments were questionnaires and interviews. This study included 30 students as participants. The findings of the poll reveal that most students have a favourable view of the use of the mind-mapping approach by utilising weblogs to improve Islamic writing. The implementation of the mind-mapping technique by using a weblog to improve Islamic writing makes students more active and interested in learning Islamic topics. Students also understand more about some Islamic topics that they read or upload to their web blogs. Students are interested in learning more about Islam by using this media. They read more topics about Islam and give their opinions about those in their Islamic literature web blog. It may be stated that a blog can be used as a form of social media and is effective and positive for teaching Islamic values to students.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang dapat mengganggu pertumbuhan anak karena menyebabkan tinggi badan anak tidak sesuai dengan umurnya atau lebih pendek. Permasalahan yang dapat ditimbulkan dari kondisi stuntingadalah kemampuan kognitif yang lemah dan terhambatnya pertumbuhan psikomotorik, kesulitan dalam menguasai ilmu dan berprestasi dalam olahraga, rentan terkena penyakit degeneratif, dan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang rendah. Peran kader sangat strategis untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Keuntungan kader kesehatan di masyarakat lebih memudahkan menyampaikan informasi kesehatan karena kedekatan secara psikologis maupun waktu. Penting adanya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan mendayagunakan kader dalam pencegahan stunting melalui edukasi dan keterampilan deteksi dini. Pencegahan stunting jauh lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pengobatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan di Desa Batu Ampar, Taba Mulan dan Kelurahan Durian Depun dengan mengunakan pendekatan teoritis berupa pemaparan materi, diskusi, simulasi dan tanya jawab. Pendekatan praktik berupa penguasaan teknik deteksi dini stunting, stimulasi tumbuh kembang,  penemuan kasus dan pendampingan bagi kader kesehatan selanjutnya dilakukan advokasi dan sosialisasi. Kegiatan ini berhasil memperkuat peran Kader Dedi Ceting melakukan deteksi dini dan pencegahan stunting di Kecamatan Merigi. Meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada Pelatihan dan pendampingan yang diberikan, menjadi motivasi bagi kader untuk berkomitmen dalam melakukan edukasi, pemantauan pertumbuhan anak, dan intervensi gizi di tingkat keluarga. Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan, Kader, Cegah Stunting  ABSTRACTStunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects children's growth, leading to a height that is below the expected standard for their age. The consequences of stunting include impaired cognitive abilities, hindered psychomotor development, challenges in acquiring knowledge, poor performance in sports, increased susceptibility to degenerative diseases, and a reduction in the quality of human resources. The role of health cadres was crucial in addressing these issues. The presence of health cadres in the community facilitated the dissemination of health information, owing to their close psychological and temporal proximity to the residents. Community service activities that utilized health cadres in the prevention of stunting through education and early detection skills were of significant importance. Preventing stunting had proven to be much more effective than treating it. The community service was conducted in Batu Ampar Village, Taba Mulan, and Durian Depun Sub-districts, using a theoretical approach that included material presentations, discussions, simulations, and Q&A sessions. The practical approach involved mastering early detection techniques for stunting, stimulating growth and development, identifying cases, and providing guidance to health cadres, followed by advocacy and socialization. The community service successfully strengthened the role of health cadre Dedi Ceting in the early detection and prevention of stunting in Merigi Sub-district. The training and mentoring provided enhanced the understanding, skills, and commitment of the cadres in conducting education, monitoring children's growth, and implementing nutritional interventions at the family level. Keywords: Empowerment, Cadres, Preventing Stunting
