Abstract

Kampas rem merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat vital dalam sebuah kendaraan yang berfungsi memperlambat bahkan menghetikan kecepatan pada saat terjadi ancaman kecelakaan akibat laju kendaraan yang tidak terkontrol oleh pengendara. Kampas rem yang beredar di pasaran umumnya terbuat dari bahan asbestos yang memiliki kekurangan diantaranya tidak ramah lingkungan. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan bimbingan teknis pembuatan kampas cakram sepeda motor adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa Jurusan Otomotif SMK 2 Kendari dan Mahasiswa D3 Teknik Mesin Program Pendidikan Vokasi, tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan bahan serat dan tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan alternatif kampas rem cakram. Pengabdian ini juga mendorong kreativitas serta minat berusaha siswa dan mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan bahan alam tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan kampas rem pada kendaraan khususnya kampas rem sepeda motor yang secara berkala harus diganti dengan yang baru. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah bengkel Shaqueela Barakati Kelurahan Anduonohu. Melalui program pengabdian ini diharapkan terwujudnya wirausaha baru yang inovatif, kreatif dan berdaya saing dalam meningkatkan kompetensi secara mandiri. Kegiatan ini berlangsung sangat efektif dan efisien ditandai dengan antusiasme siswa dan mahasiswa dalam mempersiapakan bahan hingga melaksanakan pembuatan produk kampas rem

Abstract

Handling of used aluminum has been carried out by collectors, namely the compression process. The pressing process is less economical because it still produces cavities and the selling price is low. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training on Aluminum smelting with casting techniques for two groups of independent collectors, Mandiri Berkah and Maju Jaya. The activity took place in the Mandiri Berkah collector area which was attended by Mandiri Berkah and Maju Jaya employees and the community around Poasia. The method of implementing the activity is a theoretical explanation of Aluminum and its processing method with casting techniques. Used aluminum cans are melted in a charcoal-fired crucible furnace. The used aluminum cans are put in the kowi which is placed in a hot furnace. After the cans are melted, they are poured into rectangular molds. The results of the service activities that resulted were the opening of knowledge insights related to used aluminum. Participants were able to recycle Aluminum by casting technique into ingot products.Keywords: Training, foundry, aluminum, collectors

Abstract

Elektroplating adalah proses pelapisan logam dengan logam lain dengan cara elektrolisa, seperti pelapisan seng, galvanis, perak, emas, kuningan, tembaga, nikel dan krom. Aluminium adalah salah satu material yang banyak diaplikasikan pada industri karena sifatnya yang ringan dan tahan korosi. Namun untuk mempertahankan integritas strukturalnya ketika terkena atmosfer, korosi dangkal dapat terjadi sehingga dapat merusak permukaan dan menurunkan sifat kekerasannya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh arus listrik terhadap perubahan ketebalan, penambahan berat dan kekerasan lapisan pada aplikasi pelapisan Nikel-Aluminium dengan proses elektroplating. Proses pelapisan Aluminium-Nikel dilakukan pada rangkaian skematik bak elektroplating yang berisikan cairan elektrolit. Adapun variasi arus listrik yang diberikan adalah 10 Amper, 14 Amper, dan 18 Amper dengan waktu proses pelapisan adalah 20 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tebal lapisan bertambah dan kekerasan meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya kuat arus yang diberikan pada proses elektroplating. Nilai kekerasan tertinggi 234 kg/mm2 pada arus listrik 18 Amper dan kekerasan terendah 146 kg/mm2 pada arus listrik 10 Amper.

Abstract

Natural composites are one of the smart materials that have the opportunity to replace the use of synthetic composites. and metal materials. Layered structural composites provide nearly uniform properties on all sides. The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanical properties of tensile, compressive and impact on the behavior of bamboo fiber polymer composites with a layered structure. This research method is experimental where the specimens are made in 2 quasine isotropic configuration configurations namely [+60/0/-60] and [+45/0/-45] with layer thicknesses of 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, respectively. and 2.0mm. The highest tensile strength is 8.173 N/mm2 in the [+60/0/-60] arrangement and the lowest is 6.196 N/mm2 in the [+45/0/-45] arrangement. The highest impact strength is 34.259 kJ/mm2 in the [+45/0/-45] array configuration and the lowest tensile strength is 10.775 kJ/mm2 in the [+60/0/-60] array configuration. The highest compressive strength is 15.856 N/mm2 in the configuration [+60/0/-60] arrangement and the lowest compressive strength is N/mm2 in the configuration [+45/0/-45]. The [+60/0/-60] array configuration has better mechanical properties than the [+45/0/-45] configuration. Where the tensile strength, compressive strength and impact strength increase with increasing layer thickness. Keywords: composite, layered structure, tensile, compressive and impact

Abstract

Along with the increasing demand for clam meat, this causes the waste of clam shells to accumulate and not be utilized which can pollute the environment and its surroundings. The purpose of this research is to design and manufacture a shell crusher machine. The working principle of this shell crusher machine is that the crushing process is carried out by inserting the shells into the inlet which is crushed by the blade, then utilizing a gasoline motor as the main drive, where the rotation of the machine is continued by a series of main shafts consisting of blades, shafts, bearings, v-belts and pulleys, as the main components of the design of a shell crusher machine so that it can be processed to be used as animal feed and organic fertilizer which is good for plant health. From the results of the design and manufacture of this shell crusher tool it can crush every 1 kg of shellfish in 1 minute 53 seconds.

Abstract

The concept of Designing the Tools of Pipe Rolling Machines With Automatic and Manual Work Systems reflects on the design by means of several stages, including projeck definition, project preparation, product technical specifications, product concept planning, product design, to documents for manufacturing products. The next process is analyzing the needs of attention to consideration of planning requirements. Results from the Custom-Designed Tool of Pipe Rolling Machine used to accomplish automatic and manual harverting results: (1) making tool/machine with an efficient worksystem in automatic or manual: (2) The design of the tool or machine with this automatic and manual working system.

Abstract

The abundance of bamboo prompted both partners Sri Jeki and Bambu Apus to set up a bamboo craft business in Kendari city. As the business goes on, the demand for various bamboo works continues to increase. Both craftsmen experienced difficulties in meeting production targets. So far, craftsmen only use machetes to split, sharpen, and thin bamboo in their production activities. The solution offered in this service activity is to introduce and provide appropriate technology training for bamboo defenders to accelerate and increase the production of bamboo crafts. The method of this activity is to train craftsmen in using appropriate technology for bamboo defenders to accelerate and increase the production capacity of bamboo crafts. The results obtained from this service activity are that the craftsmen can use the right technology for bamboo splitting tools safely and quickly so that their productivity increases.

Abstract

The manufacture of clutch components from the factory has an estimate or limit of the use of clutch components that must be replaced if any damage occurs. The purpose of this observation is to find out how to maintain and repair the manual clutch system, and find out the problems that often occur when the manual clutch system is operated. To identify or find out the damage to the components of the manual clutch system, the type of qualitative data is used, namely data that is explanations and descriptions that are described. This type of Quantitative data is data that is a number obtained from informants such as age and date of birth. The results of observations show that the components that often experience damage to the manual clutch system on Hino FM 260 FM cars, Isuzu NKR 71 HD cars, and Hino Dutro 130 HD cars are upper clutch master rubber, booster rubber (wind clutch), lower clutch master rubber and clutch lining. What makes the clutch slip is the worn-out clutch lining and the high clutch pedal. The causes of clutch lining wear out quickly are excessive clutch use, transporting loads that exceed capacity and uneven or difficult road terrain. The observation report contributes advice to users of PT DSS operational vehicles in maintaining and repairing their vehicle units.

Abstract

A composite is a material structure composed of two or more combinations of constituents combined macroscopically, where the two combinations do not dissolve each other. The first phase is called reinforcement, while the second phase is called matrix. This study aims to analysis the tensile and bending strength values of coconut fiber reinforced composites with a sequence of layers of quasi-isotropic fiber laminates. Experimental studies were carried out on polyester resin composites reinforced with coconut fiber in the fiber layer sequences of [0°/0°/0°], [+45°/0°/-45°] and [+60°/0°/-60°]. Tensile test specimen standards refer to ASTM D-3039 and bending test standards refer to ASTM D-7264. The results of the blistering test obtained a maximum stress of 18.3298 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [0°/0°/0°] and a minimum stress of 10.8966 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [+60°/0°/ -60°]. Meanwhile, the bending test results showed that the maximum bending stress was 76.065 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [0°/0°/0°] and the minimum stress was 30.256 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [+45°/0°/-45 °].

Abstract

The condenser is a heat exchange device with the function of condensing the steam coming out of the low-pressure turbine into water. As the condenser is one of the main components of a PLTU, the effectiveness of the condenser greatly influences the efficiency of the PLTU. One of the variables that determines condenser performance is changes in vacuum pressure. This change in vacuum pressure often occurs as long as the PLTU is operating. This study aims to determine the effect of changes in condenser vacuum pressure on condenser performance at PLTU Ni Tanasa Unit 1. Data collection was carried out at peak load conditions via the Central Control Room (CCR). The analysis results show that a decrease in vacuum pressure affects condenser performance. The variables that influence condenser performance are the heat transfer coefficient and maximum heat transfer. The maximum heat transfer coefficient is U = 383.32 W/m2.oC and maximum condenser effectiveness is e = 0.941, occurs at a vacuum pressure of 89.8 kPa, the maximum heat transfer rate is Q ̇=2584.5 kJ/s, occurs at condenser pressure 90.4 kPa.
