Abstract

This study reports that clove (Syzygium aromaticum) leaf extract was used as a reducing agent and deionized water was used as a solvent. In the process of making the extract, as much as 20 grams of clove leaf powder was mixed with 100 mL of deionized water and boiled using a hotplate magnetic stirrer for 2 hours at a temperature of 70°C. Then, the extract solution was filtered using 11 cm diameter filter paper and centrifuged at 4000 rpm for 30 minutes to obtain clove leaf extract. The extract was characterized using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer to analyze the absorbance and energy band gap. Based on the absorbance test results, clove leaf extract showed maximum absorption at a concentration of 1000 ppm with a wavelength of 221 nm and at a concentration of 500 ppm with a wavelength of 225 nm. The energy band gap value at a concentration of 1000 ppm is 3.26 eV and at a concentration of 500 ppm 3.38 eV.

Abstract

Nanostructured Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has been successfully synthesized using hydrothermal method. All precursors were mixed and stirred using an ultrasonic cleaner for 10 minutes until the sample was homogeneously mixed. Then, the samples were put into a Teflon-coated stainless steel autoclave and heated at 100ºC for 6 hours. Characterization of the optical properties of ZnO nanoparticles was carried out using UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance spectrophotometer test. Furthermore, the optical properties will be analyzed referring to the reflectance pattern so that the band gap energy of ZnO nanoparticles can be determined using the Tauc Plot technique. The results of Tauc Plot analysis show that the band gap energy of ZnO nanoparticles is at 2.97 eV.

Abstract

Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has been extensively developed in the field of wastewater treatment as a photocatalyst to degrade dye contaminants. The photocatalytic efficiency of ZnO can be enhanced by modifying its nanostructure, particularly by synthesizing ZnO in the form of nanorods. In this study, a simple hydrothermal method was used to synthesize ZnO nanorods and evaluate their effectiveness in degrading textile dye wastewater, using rhodamine B (RhB) and methylene blue (MB) as model pollutants. Zinc sheets with a thickness of 0.1 mm were treated hydrothermally in an autoclave containing 50 ml of deionized water at 95°C for 8, 16, and 24 hours. Subsequently, each sample was analyzed for its morphological and structural characteristics before being immersed in RhB and MB solutions with a concentration of 5 ppm and exposed to UV light at a wavelength of 352 nm and an intensity of 900–1000 mW/cm2. The degradation rates of RhB were found to be 63.4% for ZnO-8, 94% for ZnO-16, and 79.9% for ZnO-24, while for MB, they were 74.3% for ZnO-8, 75% for ZnO-16, and 68% for ZnO-24. These results indicate that ZnO synthesized hydrothermally for 16 hours exhibited superior degradation performance for both rhodamine B and methylene blue compared to the 8-hour and 24-hour treatments.

Abstract

Semiconductor photocatalysts such as ZnO nanorods have been extensively studied for the degradation of water pollutant waste due to their simple, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly process. ZnO nanorods were successfully synthesized using the hydrothermal method on zinc foil substrates with ethanol concentration variations of 10%, 30%, and 50%. The hydrothermal process was conducted for 16 hours at a temperature of 95°C. ZnO nanorods were tested as photocatalysts in a paraquat solution with a concentration of 4 ppm under UV A-B tube luminescent (TL) light for 120 minutes. UV-Vis spectroscopy testing was performed every 30 minutes during the photocatalysis process to determine the photocatalytic efficiency of ZnO nanorods in degrading paraquat waste. The UV-Vis test results showed the best degradation at 30% ethanol variation with 34% at λ 250 nm.

Abstract

The seeds of the sacha inchi plant (Plukenetia volubilis L.) have been extracted using the cold pressing method at a temperature of 45°C and a pressure of 600 bar or 60 MPa. Seeds come from sacha inchi plants grown at an altitude of 200 and 500 masl each with an oil volume of 100 ml. Testing of absorbance properties will be carried out using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer technique. So that the absorbance spectrum pattern are expected to provide information on the characteristics of the substance content possessed by the sacha inchi plant, namely lipids/fatty acids, proteins, tocopherols, phytosterols, phenolic components, fiber, antioxidants, carbohydrates, vitamins, polyphenols, and minerals.

Abstract

Raman and infrared (IR) spectra of  xMn2O3(1-x)P2O5 glasses (x = 5 mol% – 25 mol%) are reported. The spectral shift is related to changes in the coordination of the neodymium ion. The changes observed are consistent with an elongation of P–O- terminal and P–O–P bridging bonds in the PO4 tetrahedra.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze global trends in STEM-based robotic physics education through a bibliometric analysis conducted using data obtained from the Scopus database. STEM and robotics are increasingly gaining attention as effective approaches in physics education, aligning with the 21st-century demand for technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. This research utilizes R bibliometric software to identify publication patterns, researcher collaborations, and key trends in STEM-based robotic physics education from 2008 to 2024. The methods involved searching for articles using the keywords "STEM AND robotic AND physics AND education," resulting in 53 downloaded and analyzed articles. The analysis was conducted in two main steps: data collection from Scopus and metadata analysis to identify research trends and collaboration networks among researchers. The results indicated a substantial growth in the volume of publications and international collaborations, with the United States leading in publication contributions, followed by Ukraine and Colombia. The key findings reveal that recent research trends focus on learning media and STEM. Meanwhile, topics that have received less attention include the impact of STEM on the curriculum and the development of critical thinking skills. Several topics, such as augmented reality and critical thinking, were also identified as challenging potential avenues for future research. This research offers significant guidance for future researchers in developing more effective STEM-based education strategies and suggests closer collaboration between academics and practitioners in various countries. Future research is recommended to explore alternative bibliometric analysis tools and expand the database coverage to enrich perspectives and enhance the scope of findings.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a learning module for Electricity and Magnetism with mobile augmented reality to Enhance Students' Conceptual Understanding. This research is a type of research design. The development model used is the ADDIE model, which consists of five development phases, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this study are learning modules that have been installed with QR-code and ModulAR apps that run on the Assmblr Edu Application. The developed materials received highly favorable ratings from experts, with content experts assigning an average score of 87% and media experts providing an average score of 86%. Teacher and student feedback indicated an average satisfaction rate of 88% and 87%, respectively. Then, the module and ModulAR apps were implemented at SMKN 1 Cikarang Pusat, which involved 36 students. The use of learning modules with mobile augmented reality based on the Inkuiri approach is also effective in enhancing students' Conceptual Understanding. It can be seen from the average n-gain score of 0.59, included in the moderate category. Furthermore, this research provides valuable insights into the potential of AR for enhancing physics education and offers practical recommendations for future research endeavors in this area.
