Abstract

In response to the pedagogical challenges of traditional physics education and the evolving demands of Education 4.0, this study introduces the AI-CBL model, a hybrid instructional approach integrating Case-Based Learning with an AI-powered chatbot. The research aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the AI-CBL model in enhancing critical thinking among undergraduate physics students. Employing Research and Development (R&D) within a pretest-posttest control group design framework, the AI-CBL model was implemented through an interactive e-learning platform across two sessions on the topic of electromagnetic induction. Seventy students were divided into two groups: a control group (CBL only) and an experimental group (AI-CBL). Data collection instruments included pre- and post-tests, expert validation sheets, observation protocols, and questionnaires. Expert validation results showed high feasibility (average score of 4.25). The AI-CBL group demonstrated significantly higher critical thinking gains (N-Gain = 0.9838, categorized as High) compared to the control group (N-Gain = 0.5212, categorized as Medium), with a t-test indicating a significant difference (p < 0.001). These results highlight the pedagogical effectiveness of the AI-CBL model in promoting deeper conceptual understanding and critical thinking. Additionally, students reported high levels of engagement, ease of use, and satisfaction with the AI chatbot’s interactive features. The study confirms that the AI-CBL model provides a viable, adaptive, and impactful approach to modern physics education, promoting deeper conceptual understanding and fostering 21st-century skills.

Abstract

Abstract The resilience of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in South Korea has become an important issue, particularly in the context of social and cultural adaptation. Many workers face challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences in the workplace, limited access to information about labor rights, and a lack of social networks, which often lead to stress, discrimination, and vulnerability to exploitation. This community service program aimed to strengthen the social and cultural resilience of Indonesian migrant workers through a community-based approach. The activities included cultural adaptation training, legal literacy workshops on labor rights and obligations, the development of conflict management skills, and the establishment of solidarity-based migrant worker communities. The program was carried out in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Seoul, the IMNIDA community, and supported by six Indonesian universities under the ALPTKNI consortium. The methods applied encompassed socialization, mentoring, and ongoing community engagement. The outcomes of the program indicated an increased awareness of labor rights, improved cultural adaptation skills, and stronger social solidarity among participants. Furthermore, the establishment of long-term partnerships with local organizations ensured the sustainability of the program. This initiative not only contributed to the protection and empowerment of Indonesian migrant workers in South Korea but also served as a replicable model for similar interventions in other destination countries. The program also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), highlighting the strategic role of higher education institutions in global community empowerment and cultural diplomacy. Abstrak Ketahanan pekerja migran Indonesia (PMI) di Korea Selatan telah menjadi isu penting, terutama dalam konteks adaptasi sosial dan budaya. Banyak pekerja menghadapi tantangan seperti hambatan bahasa, perbedaan budaya di tempat kerja, keterbatasan akses terhadap informasi tentang hak-hak ketenagakerjaan, dan kurangnya jaringan sosial, yang sering kali menyebabkan stres, diskriminasi, dan kerentanan terhadap eksploitasi. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat ketahanan sosial dan budaya pekerja migran Indonesia melalui pendekatan berbasis komunitas. Kegiatan yang dilakukan mencakup pelatihan adaptasi budaya, lokakarya literasi hukum tentang hak dan kewajiban tenaga kerja, pengembangan keterampilan manajemen konflik, dan pembentukan komunitas pekerja migran berbasis solidaritas. Program ini dilaksanakan bekerja sama dengan Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Seoul, komunitas IMNIDA, dan didukung oleh enam universitas Indonesia di bawah konsorsium ALPTKNI. Metode yang diterapkan mencakup sosialisasi, pendampingan, dan keterlibatan komunitas yang berkelanjutan. Hasil dari program menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran terhadap hak-hak tenaga kerja, peningkatan keterampilan adaptasi budaya, dan penguatan solidaritas sosial di antara para peserta. Selain itu, pembentukan kemitraan jangka panjang dengan organisasi lokal memastikan keberlanjutan program. Inisiatif ini tidak hanya berkontribusi terhadap perlindungan dan pemberdayaan pekerja migran Indonesia di Korea Selatan, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai model yang dapat direplikasi untuk intervensi serupa di negara tujuan lainnya. Program ini juga sejalan dengan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya SDG 3 (Kehidupan Sehat dan Sejahtera) dan SDG 17 (Kemitraan untuk Mencapai Tujuan), yang menyoroti peran strategis lembaga pendidikan tinggi dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat global dan diplomasi budaya. Abstract

The use of smartphones in physics experiments is an innovative solution to overcome the limitations of laboratory facilities that are still an obstacle in science learning, especially physics in schools. The presence of smartphones with accelerometer features, cameras, and supporting applications opens up opportunities for use as practical, interactive, and easily accessible experimental tools. This article will report on a community service activity entitled Utilization of Smartphones in Physics Experiments for High School Students at PKP JIS High School, East Jakarta. This activity aims to provide training to students and teachers in using smartphones as experimental media while improving the understanding of physics concepts through a technology-based approach. The implementation was carried out by students of the Physics Study Program through an integrated Community Service Program (PKM-KKN) with the support of industrial partner CV Jyotis Cemerlang. The relevance of this program is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 on Quality Education, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 10 on Reducing Inequality, so it is expected to be able to encourage inclusive, innovative, and relevant physics learning to meet the needs of the digital era. Abstrak Pemanfaatan smartphone dalam eksperimen fisika merupakan solusi inovatif untuk mengatasi keterbatasan fasilitas laboratorium yang masih menjadi kendala dalam pembelajaran sains, khususnya fisika di sekolah. Kehadiran smartphone dengan fitur akselerometer, kamera, dan aplikasi pendukung membuka peluang untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai alat eksperimen yang praktis, interaktif, dan mudah diakses. Dalam artikel ini akan dilaporkan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan judul Pemanfaatan Smartphone dalam Eksperimen Fisika bagi Siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas yang dilaksanakan di SMA PKP JIS Jakarta Timur. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan kepada siswa dan guru dalam memanfaatkan smartphone sebagai media eksperimen sekaligus meningkatkan pemahaman konsep fisika melalui pendekatan berbasis teknologi. Pelaksanaan dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Fisika melalui Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat terintegrasi Kuliah Kerja Nyata (PKM-KKN) dengan dukungan mitra industri CV Jyotis Cemerlang. Relevansi program ini sejalan dengan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), terutama SDG 4 tentang Pendidikan Berkualitas, SDG 9 tentang Industri, Inovasi, dan Infrastruktur, serta SDG 10 tentang Berkurangnya Kesenjangan, sehingga diharapkan mampu mendorong pembelajaran fisika yang inklusif, inovatif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan era digital.

Abstract

This study reports the synthesis and optical characterization of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods grown on zinc foil substrates via the hydrothermal method. The objective is to investigate the effect of growth duration on the morphology and optical band gap of ZnO. The synthesis was conducted at 95 °C for 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24 hours, using Zn foil as both the substrate and Zn²⁺ source. Characterizations were performed using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS). The results show that all samples exhibit a wurtzite crystal structure with a dominant (002) orientation. The nanorod morphology becomes denser and more uniform at growth durations of 12–24 hours. The band gap increased from 3.11 eV to 3.24 eV, with stable values observed between 12 and 24 hours. Therefore, hydrothermal growth time influences the structural and optical properties of ZnO, with 16–24 hours identified as the optimal duration for optoelectronic applications.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis nanopartikel emas (Au) menggunakan metode one-step synthesis dengan memanfaatkan sinar UV untuk mereduksi ion HAuCl4 dalam larutan HEPES yang berperan sebagai agen reduksi. Proses sintesis nanopartikel emas dilakukan menggunakan cawan petri dengan dua variasi konsentrasi HAuCl4, masing-masing 0.0026 M dan 0.0001 M, sedangkan konsentrasi HEPES 0.1 M. Setelah itu, sampel disinari dengan sinar UV di dalam rak 1, 2, dan 3 UV chamber selama 10 menit. Karakterisasi dilakukan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis untuk mendapatkan spektrum absorbansi serta panjang gelombang (wavelength). Hasil sintesis HAuCl4 dengan konsentrasi 0.0026 M menunjukkan warna ungu kemerahan, menandakan pembentukan nanopartikel emas (AuNP). Sementara pada konsentrasi 0.0001 M, larutan tetap bening transparan tanpa rona kemerahan, menandakan hampir tidak ada pembentukan partikel emas. Hasil spektrum UV-Vis mengkonfirmasi bahwa pada sampel 0.0026 M menunjukkan puncak SPR pada rentang 530-540 nm. Sedangkan pada sampel dengan konsentrasi 0.0001 M tidak menunjukkan adanya puncak.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani-Hutan ke 05 rumah-Kaum Jayakarta (KTH-05) merupakan satu dari enam KTH yang terletak di wilayah RW-03 Kelurahan Jatinegara-Kaum Kecamatan Pulogadung Kota Administrasi Jakarta-Timur. KTH-05 menempati area seluas 350m2, milik Suku Dinas Ketahanan Pangan, Kelautan, dan Perikanan (KPKP) Jakarta Timur dan  PT. Antam Tbk UPB Logam Mulia, untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai lahan yang ditanami tanaman buah dan sayuran dengan tujuan untuk mitigasi bencana dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan-pangan bagi masyarakat di RW-03 Kelurahan Jatinegara Kaum. Area KTH-05 Rumah-Kaum berada di sebelah Barat makam Pangeran Jayakarta belum memiliki fasilitas lisrik-PLN, sehingga berdampak terbatasnya kegiatan masyarakat dalam mengelola dan memanfaatkan tanaman-tanaman yang ditanam di lokasi tersebut. Mengacu ke hasil Musrenbang Kelurahan Jatinegara Kaum Jakarta Timur dengan warga RW-03 disepakati masyarakat RW-03 membutuhkan lampu-penerangan di area KTH-05 Rumah-Kaum Jayakarta dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan produktifitas. Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim pelaksana kegiatan P2M adalah dengan melakukan beberapa langkah, yaitu: (1) melakukan survey untuk mendapatkan data-data teknis yang dibutuhkan untuk mengembangkan sistem penerangan di area KTH-05 Rumah Kaum Jayakarta; (2) menentukan spesifikasi sistem PJU Tenaga-Surya yang akan diinstlasikan mengacu kebutuhan mitra; (3) menentukan spesifikasi tiang PJU sesuai dengan spesifikasi system PJU Tenaga-Surya; (4) pengadaan system PJU dan system tiang PJU mengacu ke spesifikasi yang telah divalidasi; (5) pengujian system PJU dan system tiang PJU sebelum diinstalasikan; (6) pemasangan sistem PJU Tenaga-Surya di area KTH-05 Rumah Kaum Jayakarta; (7) melatih anggota KTH-05 Rumah Kaum untuk mengoperasikan sistem PJU Tenaga Surya; dan (8) serah-terima sistem PJU Tenaga-Surya ke wakil masyarakat KTH-05 Rumah Kaum.  Tim pelaksana kegiatan telah melaksanakan kegiatan P2M di area KTH-05 rumah Kaum Jayakarta pada rentang bulan Juni sd September 2025 dengan 3 (tiga) unit lampu penerangan jalan berbasis sistem PLTS menggunakan 3 (tiga) modul lampu-jalan two-in-one solar-cell merk Solar Light 800Watt dengan spesifikasi: (1) warna cahaya Putih (6000K); (2) baterai LiFePO4 3,2Volt 36AH; (3) IP rating IP65 waterproof; (4) panel-LED dengan total 200 LED tipe SMD 5050; (5) solar-cell Polycrystalline 6Volt 38Watts; dan (6) ON/OFF otomatis dengan remote. Tiga tiang PJU yang digunakan mempunyai spesifikasi: (1) bertipe Oktagonal; (2) berbahan besi-galvanis; (3) tinggi-tiang 5 meter; (4) tebal-plat tiang 2,7mm; (5) diameter-dasar 120 mm, diameter-atas 80mm; (6) diameter shock 2inchi; (7) ukuran baseplate 300×300×12mm;  dan (8) menggunakan ukuran angkur M16×500×100.  Hasil pengukuran intensitas Cahaya (menggunakan Lutron LX-101AS Lux meter) dan perhitungan Lumen yang dihasilkan masing-masing modul lampu dengan luas paparan cahaya sebesar 16m2 (4×4m) adalah: (1) modul lampu #1 sebesar  536 Lumen; (2) modul lampu #2 sebesar 520 Lumen; dan (3) intensitas modul lampu #3 sebesar 527 Lumen. Terdapat dua dampak-positif bagi Masyarakat yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan pemasangan tiga unit lampu-penerangan berbasis PLTS PJU di area KTH-05 rumha Kaum Kelurahan Jatinegara Kaum, yaitu: (1) meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktifitas Masyarakat yang memanfaatkan area KTH-05 rumah Kaum Jayakrta ; (2) meningkatkan Tingkat literasi anggota KTH-05 dalam memahami cara mengoperasikan dan merawat sistem lampu-penerangan berbasis PLTS.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the world of education, including in the development of innovative and interactive learning media. One of the challenges in learning physics at the high school level is students' low understanding of complex fluid concepts, especially in Bernoulli's Law and Torricelli's Theorem. This study aims to develop an e-module based on Augmented Reality (AR) technology equipped with LKPD, and analyze its effectiveness in improving students' critical thinking skills. The research method used is Research and Development (RD) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The developed e-module presents fluid material content visually and interactively through AR simulations, and integrates elements of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the context of physics learning. Implementation was carried out in high schools, with data collection through pre-tests, post-tests, and student and teacher response questionnaires. The results showed that the AR-based e-module equipped with LKPD was suitable for use based on validation by media experts (89%) and material experts (82%), and obtained an increase in critical thinking skills of 0.62 (moderate category) based on the gain test. In conclusion, the development of an AR-integrated e-learning module on the Bernoulli and Torricelli concepts can be an effective innovation to improve students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills in physics learning in the digital era.

Abstract

The Free Private School Pilot Program (RSSG) is an innovative policy by the Depok City Government to expand access to education for low-income families through partnerships with private schools. Initial findings show that the quality of RSSG schools in Depok City varies greatly. Of the 47 participating schools spread across 11 subdistricts, 20 schools are accredited A, 23 are accredited B, two are accredited C, and two are not yet accredited. The total number of students reaches 2,407. The variation in accreditation and infrastructure shows a gap in quality between schools, which is the basis for the implementation of mentoring. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen school quality through RSSG mentoring collaboration. Jakarta State University is the institution entrusted with carrying out community service activities through mentoring teachers and school principals. These community service activities are carried out by lecturers and students of Jakarta State University (UNJ) as part of efforts to strengthen the quality and sustainability of the program. The community service activities focused on two main areas: (1) mentoring teachers in 47 RSSG schools through four cycles of thematic training on strengthening understanding of student characteristics, implementing deep learning, active learning models, and creating simple learning media; and (2) training school principals at Depok City Hall on the theme of “Strengthening School Branding and Culture,” which was attended by 47 school principals. The results of the activities showed an increase in teachers' knowledge and capacity in designing meaningful, contextual, and relevant learning for students' needs, as well as the growth of school principals' awareness in building a positive institutional identity and culture. This program not only improved the technical quality of learning but also strengthened the collaborative ecosystem that supports educational equity in Depok City.   Abstrak Program Rintisan Sekolah Swasta Gratis (RSSG) merupakan inovasi kebijakan Pemerintah Kota Depok dalam memperluas akses pendidikan bagi keluarga berpenghasilan rendah melalui kemitraan dengan sekolah swasta. Hasil kajian awal menunjukkan bahwa mutu sekolah RSSG di Kota Depok sangat beragam. Dari 47 sekolah pelaksana yang tersebar di 11 kecamatan, tercatat 20 sekolah berakreditasi A, 23 berakreditasi B, dua berakreditasi C, dan dua belum terakreditasi. Total peserta didik mencapai 2.407 siswa. Variasi akreditasi dan sarana prasarana menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan mutu antar sekolah, yang menjadi dasar pelaksanaan pendampingan. Untuk itu, maka perlu dilakukan upaya penguatan mutu sekolah melalui kolaborasi pendampingan RSSG. Universitas Negeri Jakarta menjadi institusi yang diberi kepercayaan untuk melakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat melalui kegiatan pendampingan guru dan kepala sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) sebagai bagian dari upaya memperkuat kualitas dan keberlanjutan program. Kegiatan pengabdian meliputi dua fokus utama: (1) pendampingan guru di 47 sekolah RSSG melalui empat siklus pelatihan tematik penguatan pemahaman karakteristik siswa, implementasi deep learning, model pembelajaran aktif, dan pembuatan media pembelajaran sederhana; serta (2) pelatihan kepala sekolah di Balai Kota Depok bertema “Penguatan Branding dan Budaya Sekolah” yang diikuti oleh 47 kepala sekolah, Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan kapasitas guru dalam mendesain pembelajaran bermakna, kontekstual dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran kepala sekolah dalam membangun identitas dan budaya positif lembaga. Program ini tidak hanya memperbaiki mutu teknis pembelajaran, tetapi juga memperkuat ekosistem kolaboratif yang mendukung keadilan pendidikan di Kota Depok.

Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of research trends in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) within the context of physics learning. The aim is to identify dominant research themes, visualize their development over time, and uncover gaps in the integration of STEM and HOTS in physics education. A total of 147 articles published between 2017 and 2024 were retrieved from the Scopus database, with 96 articles selected for analysis. VOSviewer was used to generate three types of visualizations: network visualization to explore keyword relationships, overlay visualization to track thematic trends over time, and density visualization to examine research concentration. The results reveal that: (1) research on STEM, HOTS, and physics learning has grown significantly, especially since 2021; (2) overlay visualization indicates a shifting research focus toward integrating HOTS through STEM approaches in physics contexts; (3) density mapping shows that the integration of HOTS in STEM-based physics instruction remains relatively underexplored; (4) content analysis highlights that STEM is commonly connected with the development of essential thinking skills, the integration of student-centered learning models such as Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning, and the use of digital learning media; and (5) recent studies have also begun to emphasize the importance of considering affective domains, such as students’ scientific attitudes, motivation, and engagement, in the implementation of STEM-based learning. This study provides a structured overview of the STEM-HOTS research landscape, offering both theoretical insights and practical implications for advancing innovative, skill-oriented physics instruction.

Abstract

Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles have been synthesized through a biosynthesis approach, employing Syzygium aromaticum leaf extracts prepared under varying acidic conditions as bioreductants in the reaction with aluminum nitrate nanohydrate. The Al2O3 nanoparticles were annealed at 450 °C for one hour to facilitate the formation. Then, the samples were characterized for their crystal structure, morphology, and optical properties using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX), and UV-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometry, respectively. XRD analysis confirmed that the Al2O3 nanoparticles possess an orthorhombic crystal structure, corresponding to Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD) entry #98-009-4485. The average crystallite sizes were measured to be 37.36 nm, 15.47 nm, and 12.52 nm for nanoparticles synthesized at pH-9, pH-10, and pH-11, respectively. Morphologically, the pH condition affects the morphology of Al2O3 nanoparticles. The reflectance spectrum peak of Al2O3 nanoparticles in the wavelength range of 328–336 nm is observed with the band gap energy of 2.92-3.01 eV. According to these results, it is believed that the Al2O3 nanoparticles have potential applications as photocatalysts.
