Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the most important and strategic sectors for the economy in Indonesia. One of the indicators/measurements that can be used to assess farmer welfare is the Farmer's Exchange Rate. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of harvested area, productivity and price of sugarcane on the welfare of farmers. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and PUSDATIN. The data analysis method used to determine the effect of harvested area, productivity, and sugarcane prices on the exchange rate of sugarcane farmers is regression analysis using the Ordinary Least Square method. This study found that the productivity variable harmed the welfare of sugarcane farmers for the period 2000-2017. At the same time, the variables of the harvested area and sugarcane prices positively affect the welfare of sugarcane farmers (NTP).

Abstract

Development is a condition desired by every region or region. Development can come from any sector in the area.  The agricultural sector is still the leading sector in the economy and is a sector that is relied upon in the source of income for the provision of jobs compared to other sectors. This makes the agricultural sector a very influential sector in the economy in Indonesia. This article was created with the aim of knowing how the agricultural sector is related to other sectors in Indonesia. The analysis used in this research is input-output analysis, using secondary data from the Indonesian Input-Output Table in 2010. The results of the study indicate that the addition to the agricultural sector has a positive impact in the form of additions to the sector itself and other sectors both in terms of sectoral output, household income, and employment opportunities.

Abstract

In reality, rice is still a staple food that is quite dominant in Indonesian society. But over time, rice production in Indonesia experienced ups and downs in the volume. This is very closely related to the input of rice production that affects it. In general, the purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of production inputs on rice production in Indonesia. Secondary data used consists of 34 provinces during the last five years analyzed to answer the research objectives. The analytical tool used is multiple linear regression analysis with the least squares method or Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The results of the analysis show that inputs consisting of harvested area, seeds, fertilizer, and labor together have a significant influence on rice production in Indonesia. This condition needs attention. Among them are labor, where in some regions (provinces) in Indonesia, there is a shortage of labor in the agricultural sector which is one of the inputs for rice production.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is one of the parameters usedto measure development success. HDI is measured based on the levelof education, health and expenditure. Central Java Province has alower HDI value compared to other provinces in Java and is lowerthan its national level and only superior to East Java. So that thesample used in this research is 35 regencies/cities in Central JavaProvince during 2015-2018. The type of data used is secondary datasourced from BPS Central Java and other sources related toresearch. The dependent variable in this study was the HDI and theindependent variable consisted of poverty level, population, inflation,GRDP and regency/city minimum wages in Central Java Province. This study aims to see how the influence of the independent variableson the dependent variable using panel data analysis techniquesthrough the best model selection test, namely the chow test and thehausman test. Where chosen the best regression results Fixed EffectModel which shows that the poverty level variable has a negative andsignificant effect on HDI, economic growth variables and district /city minimum wages have a positive and significant effect on HDI,while the population and inflation variables do not have a significanteffect on HDI in Central Java Province.

Abstract

This study investigates the interplay between poverty, open unemployment, and the Gender Development Index (IPG) on regional economic growth in Central Java from 2017 to 2023, using GRDP as the dependent variable across 30 regencies and cities. While the Fixed Effect Model reveals a significant negative effect of open unemployment on GRDP, the findings that poverty and IPG do not show statistical significance should be interpreted with caution. The absence of significance may stem from measurement limitations, temporal lags, or regional heterogeneity rather than a definitive lack of influence. Furthermore, the study acknowledges its limitation in not incorporating broader determinants of economic growth, such as capital investment, infrastructure, human capital, and institutional quality, which could contribute to omitted variable bias. The analysis would benefit from being situated within established economic growth theories, such as Solow’s neoclassical model or endogenous growth frameworks, to better justify variable selection and interpret findings within a broader theoretical and developmental context. Recognizing the long-term contributions of gender equality to economic development, future research should explore the temporal dynamics of IPG’s impact to capture delayed effects often noted in development economics.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of monetary policy (interest rates and inflation) and economic factors (foreign direct investment and domestic product growth) on employment opportunities in ASEAN-6 countries. In this research using Quantitative Research Methods, the regression used is panel data regression with a random effect model using Eviews-10 software. This research shows that monetary policy (interest rates and inflation) and economic factors (foreign direct investment and domestic product growth) jointly influence employment opportunities. Individually, monetary policy (interest rates and inflation) does not affect employment opportunities. Meanwhile, the economic factors explained by foreign investment have a positive and significant influence on employment opportunities, while the growth of domestic products has a negative and significant influence on employment opportunities.
