Abstract

Employee performance is an important indicator of organizational effectiveness, particularly in public sector institutions that rely on human resources to support administrative services and digital governance. Work motivation and organizational communication are considered key factors that can influence employee performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of work motivation and work communication on employee performance at the Department of Communication and Informatics of East Kalimantan Province. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 94 employees selected using simple random sampling from a population of 123 employees. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results show that work motivation has a significant effect on employee performance (Sig. = 0.035). Work communication also has a significant effect on employee performance (Sig. = 0.038). Furthermore, work motivation and work communication simultaneously have a significant influence on employee performance. These findings indicate that strengthening employee motivation and improving communication within the organization play an important role in enhancing employee performance in government institutions. Abstract

Koperasi Produsen Gondo Arum Asri merupakan salah satu produsen gula kelapa aren di Kabupaten Wonosobo, JawaTengah, yang berhasil menembus pasar ekspor melaluikemitraan industri. Namun, permasalahannya terletak pada tingginya ketergantungan penjualan secara curah kepada eksportir dengan margin keuntungan yang minim sehingga rentan terhadap fluktuasi pasar. Sementara itu, Gondo Arum Asri memiliki bahan baku gula aren yang belum optimal dikembangkan dan hanya dijual dalam bentuk curah dengan nilai jual yang rendah. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini akan menerapkan strategi diversifikasi portofolio produk untuk menciptakan sumber pendapatan baru. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan fokus area sebagai berikut: (1) Studi kelayakan pasar produk turunan gula aren; (2) Pelatihan teknologi proses dan formula minuman instan gula aren jahe merah, (3) Dukungan desain kemasan ritel dan branding; dan (4) Analisis nilai tambah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa Gondo Arum Asri mampu memanfaatkan teknologi baru untuk memproduksi minuman instan gula aren jahe merah dalam kemasan ritel yang siap jual. Analisis nilai tambah menunjukkan bahwa dengan mengolah 1 kg gula aren(sebelumnya diperdagangkan dalam jumlah besar seharga Rp32.000 menjadi produk minuman instan (4 kantong@250g), Gondo Arum Asri mampu meraih total pendapatan sebesar Rp100.000. Strategi diversifikasi ini terbukti mampu memberikan nilai tambah yang signifikan bagi gula aren dan membuka peluang pasar B2C baru bagi Gondo Arum Asri, sekaligus mengurangi ketergantungan perusahaan pada perdagangan ekspor gula kelapa B2B.

Abstract

Investment as a variable affecting the overall economy, especially in terms of creating job opportunities where expansion of employment opportunities is one of the main problems in development, either in the past or at present. Small and medium industries to survive in times of crisis amid the many industries that have gone bankrupt. Role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Indonesian economy is basically a big long ago. However, since the economic crisis hit Indonesia, the role of SMEs increased sharply. In addition, the Small and Medium Industries is able to help expand employment and employment opportunities. This study aimed to determine the effect of investments in the industrial sector of small and medium industry sector on employment, and to find investments that are dominant in employment in the city of Samarinda in 2004 until 2008.This research is explanotary (explanation) with a quantitative approach. The data used are secondary data from the value of investments in the sector of Small and Medium Industry, the number of workers absorbed in the sector of Small and Medium Industries is presented in the form of time series. Data were obtained from the Department of Industry and Trade of Samarinda, Samarinda City Department of Labor, and the Central Bureau of Statistics Samarinda. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression tool that is then reformulated into a simple linear regression estimation model.The analysis shows that investment in the industrial sector of small and medium industrial sector has a significant impact on employment in Samarinda. And after the calculation of partial investment in the secondary industry has a greater impact on employment than small investment in the industrial sector in the city of Samarinda. Keywords: Investment, Small Industries, Medium Industry, EmploymentJEL Classification: J01, L10, L26
