Abstract

This study aims to analyze and reconstruct the local potential of natural resources in the Iboih ecotourism areas as a source of biology learning. The final target of this study is to be used as references for educators and developers of biology learning in utilize local potential as a context for biology learning. The method used by this study is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This study was conducted in the Iboih ecotourism areas of Sabang Island, consists of two stages, namely the first exploration of local potential in the ecotourism area, and the second describing local potential as a source of learning based on contextual. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis techniques by using observation sheet that researcher developed. The results of observations and analysis showed that the material that can be used as a source of learning from the Iboih ecotourism areas is related to ecology, with material content about ecosystems, biodiversity, and ecological interactions. Therefore, the study of local potential in the Iboih ecotourism areas is known potential to be used as a source of contextual biology learning, that closely related to eveyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the distribution of species on three different transects to evaluate the diversity of aquatic ecosystems and its implications for the economic potential of coastal communities. Sampling methods were carried out on three transects by recording the abundance of 48 species from the mollusk, crustacean, and fish groups. Data analysis included the calculation of the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H), evenness index (J), and dominance index (C). The results showed that Transect B had the highest total abundance (2,617 individuals) with the highest diversity index (H=2.617) and the best evenness (J=1.094). Dominant species differed on each transect, with Setipinna taty dominating Transect A (500 individuals), Petek (Secutor rocunius) dominant in Transect B (500 individuals) and Transect C (450 individuals). Species distribution showed significant habitat heterogeneity with some species showing specific habitat preferences. From an economic perspective, the presence of high-value commercial species such as kalampa anchovies, green mussels, mangrove crabs, and tiger prawns demonstrates significant potential for the development of capture fisheries, aquaculture, seafood processing, and marine ecotourism. High species diversity opens up opportunities for business diversification that can reduce economic risks and increase incomes in coastal communities. This study recommends sustainable management that integrates conservation with economic development through zoning of water use, establishing sustainable fishing quotas, and developing community capacity in seafood processing.

Abstract

This study aims to identify efforts to develop dance talent through extracurricular activities at SD Negeri 10 Banda Aceh. The background of this study is based on various obstacles such as the absence of special practice days and schedules, limited supervising teachers, inadequate facilities, and minimal school budget to support dance activities. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in the study consisted of the principal, one art teacher, and five students who have talent in dance. The study was conducted in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the study indicate that the development of dance talent in this school has not been optimal. However, the principal has made efforts to provide a forum for art activities, while teachers play a role in providing motivation and opening up space for student exploration. Students show high enthusiasm, are able to express themselves, and begin to be confident in appearing in public. Therefore, further support is needed in the form of policies, facilities, and competent mentors so that extracurricular dance activities can run optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Misconception or misconception refers to a concept that is not in accordance with the scientific understanding or understanding accepted by experts in the field. Misconceptions often occur in math lessons. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of misconceptions to students' numeracy ability in answering math problem solving problems in SD Negeri 57 Banda Aceh. The population and sample of this study were all grade IV students of SD Negeri 57 Banda Aceh consisting of one class with a total of 27 students. This study used a quantitative approach with the type of research used was pretest posttest correlation research. Data collection technique by giving multiple-choice test questions consisting of 5 questions with alternative answers a, b, c, and d related to the material of mathematical problem solving. The results showed that the correlation value obtained was 0.628 with a significant 0.000. It can be said to be significant (0.000) < of 0.05. The calculated t value (-8.718) < the table t value (0.000). The conclusion of the results of the study is that there is a correlation of misconceptions on the ability of numeracy in answering mathematical problem solving grade IV students of SD Negeri 57 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan ibu rumah tangga dalam mengolah pangan lokal melalui edukasi dan pelatihan pembuatan nugget berbahan dasar tahu dan sayuran. Program ini bertujuan memberikan alternatif olahan sehat, bergizi, serta bernilai ekonomis sebagai solusi atas ketergantungan masyarakat pada makanan siap saji yang kurang sehat. Pelatihan berlangsung di Mesjid Al Muhajirin Kota Makassar dengan peserta sebanyak 20 orang anggota Majelis Taklim Al Muhajirat. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, tahap pelatihan, dan tahap evaluasi dengan instrumen pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, dengan nilai rata-rata pre-test 88 meningkat menjadi 98 pada post-test atau terjadi peningkatan sebesar 11,36%. Peserta juga menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi serta menilai bahwa keterampilan ini bermanfaat tidak hanya untuk konsumsi keluarga, tetapi juga berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai peluang usaha rumahan. Kontribusi kegiatan ini terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang pendidikan terletak pada penguatan literasi pangan masyarakat, pengembangan keterampilan praktis, serta penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis pengalaman langsung. Dengan demikian, pelatihan pembuatan nugget tahu dan sayur dapat menjadi sarana edukasi aplikatif yang relevan bagi pendidikan nonformal sekaligus mendukung upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui inovasi pangan lokal.

Abstract

Kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap dasar-dasar pengembangan web menjadi tantangan dalam meningkatkan literasi digital di lingkungan sekolah. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, Program Sawala Mengajar diimplementasikan sebagai solusi untuk memperkenalkan konsep dasar pemrograman web kepada siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP), khususnya di salah satu SMP Kota Kendari. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan praktis siswa dalam pembuatan website sederhana. Metode pengabdian menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui hands-on learning, diskusi interaktif, serta pendampingan langsung. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan secara bertahap, meliputi pengenalan HTML, CSS, dan dasar-dasar JavaScript yang kemudian diterapkan dalam praktik pembuatan halaman web sederhana. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep dasar pemrograman web, meningkatnya motivasi belajar teknologi digital, serta kemampuan menghasilkan proyek web sederhana. Kesimpulannya, Program Sawala Mengajar terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi digital siswa sekaligus memberikan keterampilan praktis yang relevan dengan kebutuhan abad 21.

Abstract

Kekayan hutan di desa Lesten sangat beragam dan berlimpah, namun, pemanfaatannya sebagai sumber pangan alternatif belum dioptimalkan oleh masyarakat setempat. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, ketrampilan, dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan serta pengolahan tumbuhan hutan sebagai sumber pangan alternatif. Kegiatan diawali dengan survey kebutuhan masyarakat, kemudian dilaksanakan melalui tahapan yang meliputi, eksplorasi dan identifikasi tumbuhan hutan, pelatihan dan edukasi, praktik pengolahan, serta monitoring dan eval__uasi. Sebanyak 30 peserta mengikuti program ini. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan hanya 30 persen peserta mampu menyebutkan lebih dari lima jenis tumbuhan hutan yang berpotensi sebagai pangan, sedangkan pada posttest meningkat menjadi 85 persen. Keterampilan pengolahan juga mengalami peningkatan dari 25 persen menjadi 70 persen peserta yang mampu mempraktikkannya dengan benar. Selain itu, masyarakat berhasil membangun kebun percontohan berisi 12 jenis tumbuhan pangan lokal sebagai bentuk keberlanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan edukasi ini berdampak nyata dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, ketahanan pangan, serta kesadaran konservasi masyarakat. Dampak ilmiahnya adalah terdokumentasinya 20 jenis tumbuhan hutan berpotensi pangan yang dapat dijadikan dasar penelitian etnobotani dan pengembangan diversifikasi pangan berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

This research focuses on exploring the various benefits of integrating local potential into biology learning to enhance conceptual understanding, student engagement, improve thinking skills, change behavior, and environmental awareness. The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of how the potential of local biodiversity in coral reef ecosystems can be effectively integrated into biology learning. The method used was an exploratory descriptive study. The research was conducted on Rubiah Island. Data collection techniques included direct observation and literature review. The data obtained were then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that local potential coral reefs can be utilized as learning resources through their utilization. They do not require special design and can be directly applied and used in the learning process. Integrating local potential into biology learning offers promising opportunities for innovative and engaging learning experiences. The material related to this utilization is biodiversity, including species diversity, the benefits and value of biodiversity, the classification of living things, animals, ecology, and environmental change. The conclusion of this study indicates that the utilization of local potential can enrich the reference sources for biology learning while providing a positive impact on environmental sustainability.
