Abstract

Flipped Classroom is a learning innovation that is in line with developments in time and technology. This research aims to see the effect of the flipped classroom learning model on students' biology learning outcomes, especially the concept of mutation. This research is an experimental research with the Quasy Experiment Design type of research which aims to determine the effect of the flipped classroom learning model on student learning outcomes in the mutation chapter at SMAN 9 Makassar. The independent variable of this research is the application of the flipped classroom learning model and the conventional learning model, while the dependent variable is the students' learning outcomes on mutation chapter. The population of this research is all students in class The research data was obtained by giving a test of learning outcomes on mutation material in the form of a pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique was carried out using covariate analysis (Anakova). Based on the analysis results, P = <0.001 is smaller than α = 0.05. It can be concluded that the application of the flipped classroom learning model has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of class XII MIA SMAN 9 Makassar students on mutation chapter. Kata Kunci: flipped classroom, hasil belajar, konvensional, model pembelajaran, mutasi.

Abstract

Dalam konteks pendidikan, praktikum telah terbukti menjadi metode pembelajaran yang efektif dalam memfasilitasi pemahaman menyeluruh pada siswa. Praktikum tidak hanya memungkinkan penerapan teori dalam konteks praktis (kognitif), tetapi juga mengembangkan kemandirian dalam perencanaan kegiatan (afektif) dan meningkatkan keterampilan penggunaan alat atau instrumen khusus (psikomotorik). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak pelaksanaan praktikum terhadap hasil belajar di tingkat SMA di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia. Dengan menerapkan metode meta-analisis pada 6 artikel dari jurnal- jurnal Indonesia sebagai subjek penelitian, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktikum memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa di berbagai tingkatan kelas, materi pelajaran, daerah penelitian, dan maupun rentang waktu yang berbeda. Analisis data mendukung bahwa praktikum efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa karena secara komprehensif menyentuh semua ranah pengetahuan yang relevan. Paktikum merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam merangsang pemahaman menyeluruh pada siswa, memberikan implikasi penting dalam konteks pendidikan di Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how the STAD type cooperative learning model, in conjunction with animated video content, affected the biology learning interest of SMAN 4 Maros students on plant tissue subject. This study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The pretest-postest control group design was used for the research. The study of this research is XI MIPA 5 as the experimental group and XI MIPA 7 as the control group. A learning interest questionnaire consisting of 20 statements is the research instrument. Statistical inferential and descriptive analysis is the method of data analysis employed. The result of descriptive analysis shows that the final average interest learning score in the experimental group is 84,37 and it is higher than the control group which was 78,97. The result of inferential analysis with the anacova test shows that there was an influence of the STAD Type Cooperative Learning Model with the help of animated video media on Biology Learning Interest of Students at SMAN 4 Maros On Plant Tissue Subject.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning is one of the options of the instructional one that can be implemented in the K13 Curriculum (Kurikulum 2013) or the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka). This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning on the learning outcomes of Class X students in biology subject. The type of research was a quantitative study with a posttest only control group design. The research population was all students of  three classes X IPA at SMA Negeri 7 Sa'dan Toraja Utara in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Through the random sampling technique, two classes were obtained that would serve as control and experimental classes, namely class X IPA 2 and X IPA 1 with a total of 54 students. Data collection was carried out through a learning achievement test instrument in the form of multiple choice of 30 numbers. The learning outcomes data were then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results showed that the average learning outcomes for the experimental class were in the average category while the control class was in the poor category. T test was used to confirm the hypothesis. The result shows the sig. (2 tailed) of 0.009 which means less than 0.05. Based on the results it can be concluded that Problem Based Learning is able to have a positive influence on the learning outcomes of class X students in biology subject.

Abstract

The curriculum of the pre-service Teacher Professional Education program requires prospective teachers to implement Classroom Action Research during the Field Experience Program. The implementation of Classroom Action Research is expected to improve the quality of teaching and learning practices in schools by developing teachers' reflective attitude towards student learning. This Community Partnership Program aims to improve the understanding of Biology teacher candidates who are members of the Pre-service Teacher Professional Education program, Makassar State University, regarding the principles and methodology of Classroom Action Research. This program was carried out face-to-face and online (Zoom meeting) in March 2023 with 35 participants. Service activities are divided into three stages, namely program planning, implementation, and evaluation of achievement targets. The survey results at the beginning of the activity showed that most prospective Biology teachers still had limited experience with the implementation of Classroom Action Research. However, during the activity, participants were actively involved in discussing the topic of problems and solutions to learning problems at school, determining the learning cycle, and assessing student learning outcomes. At the end of the activity, prospective teachers were also able to make a Classroom Action Research plan.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman jenis anggrek belum banyak dikenal oleh masyarakat kecuali para pecinta dan kolektor tanaman anggrek. Jumlah ini semakin hari akan semakin berkurang jika tidak dilakukan tindakan pelestarian anggrek alam atau anggrek spesies. Tingginya tingkat keberagaman jenis anggrek ini dapat digunakan sebagai media belajar bagi siswa, sehingga menjadi langkah yang penting dan krusial untuk mengenalkan keanekaragaman jenis anggrek, melalaui metode kultur in vitro. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan para guru dapat berperan menggalakkan upaya dalam melestarikan dan membudidayakan tanaman anggrek untuk skala sekolah (laboratorium sederhana) maupun untuk skala rumah tangga dengan menggunakan media tanam alternatif. Tujuan kegiatan ini sebagai edukasi hijau yang akan memberikan kesadaran sejak dini bagi pendidik untuk menjaga kelestarian dan keseimbangan lingkungan hidup. Pemahaman dari PKM ini akan dapat diintegrasikan dalam Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar (KBM) dan disosialisasikan secara luas kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan workshop ini dilaksanakan dengan model pemberdayaan kelompok sasaran dengan pendekatan Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) dan Community Empowerment (CE). Setelah pelatihan diharapkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan, wawasan dan skill dasar  mitra tentang teknik budidaya tanaman anggrek secara in vitro. Mitra memberikan respon yang positif berdasarkan hasil kuisioner dan menilai kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dan dapat diterapkan dalam KBM.

Abstract

The microscope is a key tool in biology laboratories and supports various learning activities. The Community Service Activity (PKM) was conducted to enhance the knowledge, insight, and skills of biology teachers in using and maintaining microscopes. The event took place on October 29, 2023, at the Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Makassar State University, and involved 13 high school biology teachers from South Sulawesi province. The training consisted of three stages: material delivery, practical training, and evaluation of the participants' performance. The observations during the PKM revealed that the training materials and activities effectively improved the skills of the biology teachers in using and maintaining microscopes. The biology teachers responded positively to the training activities, and the PKM activities ran smoothly, achieving the expected goals.
