Abstract

Abstract

Pepper is one of the spices that has an important function in the global food industry. Although Indonesia is one of the major pepper producers, it faces considerable challenges from competing countries such as Vietnam and Brazil. This study aims to evaluate the competitiveness of Indonesian pepper in the global market, identify factors that affect export performance, and provide strategic recommendations to improve Indonesia's position in the international market. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach to evaluate the competitiveness of Indonesian pepper. Secondary data used are export statistics and global commodity market reports. The Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Export Product Dynamic (EPD) methods were used to analyze pepper export performance. The results showed that Indonesia experienced a decline in participation in the global value chain of pepper, with a decrease in exports from 29,692 tons in 2019 to 12,945 tons in 2022. Although Indonesia has an advantage in natural resources, it faces challenges from competing countries that have lower production costs and more efficient farming systems. Indonesia's pepper competitiveness is influenced by several factors such as product quality, innovation, and government policy support. Cooperation between the government and farmers is essential to improve the competitiveness of pepper in the international market. This study confirms that although Indonesia has great potential in pepper production, the existing challenges require serious attention. Improving Indonesia's pepper competitiveness requires the application of modern agricultural technology, product diversification, as well as stronger collaboration among all stakeholders.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) is a form of student dedication to society, aiming to provide real contributions to village development. One of these contributions is supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tiram Village, Bangka Selatan Regency. The main problem faced by local MSMEs is the lack of visual identity and branding, which makes it difficult for their products to be recognized and compete in the market. Through the KKN program of Pertiba University, students conducted data collection, interviews, and logo creation tailored to the characteristics of each business owner. The methods applied included field observation, participatory discussion, and need-based logo design. The results show that MSME owners benefited from the creation of business logos, as it enhanced product image, built consumer trust, and opened opportunities for digital marketing. This study confirms that student involvement through the KKN program has a positive impact on MSME development in rural areas, particularly in branding and strengthening the competitiveness of local products.

Abstract

Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is an algorithm used to solve optimization problems, inspired by the behavior of ant colonies in find of food sources. The main issue addressed in this study is how to implement the Ant Colony algorithm to determine the shortest route for goods distribution and to analyze the influence of the parameters α (pheromone intensity) and β (heuristic value) on the effectiveness of route search. This study used a simulation approach involving several delivery vehicles for building materials in Malang Raya. The testing was conducted using 33 delivery locations, which were then divided into five delivery clusters. The shortest routes generated by the algorithm were found to be more effective when compared to routes suggested by Google Maps. The results show that the implementation of the ACO algorithm significantly reduces travel distance, with an average effectiveness of 16.26% across the five vehicles that were tested. Parameter testing indicates that higher β values (β ≥ 5) significantly influence the search for the shortest route, while variation in α does not significantly affect the results. Thus, this study concludes that the ACO algorithm is effective in optimizing delivery routes, especially when employing the appropriate combination of parameters.

Abstract

This research is based on the phenomenon of imbalance between the academic world and the professional world, which tends to prioritize expertise and professionalism, while universities often emphasize academic abilities with various theories. The imbalance becomes the cause of the inability of university graduates to face competition in the workforce. This is what constitutes the implementation of internships. The research uses a qualitative approach with interview techniques. The research results show that on average, MBKM internship students at the Islamic Sharia Office of Banda Aceh City have been able to communicate well, allowing them to be accepted and blend in well. The communication process that occurs is still passive, meaning that students accept any tasks assigned by their superiors. The process of completing the assigned tasks is carried out through structured consultations, so their presence is seen as having contributed to the duties of state apparatus.

Abstract

This study discusses the dynamic analysis of the Susceptible–Exposed–Infected–Hospitalized–Critical–Recovered–Dead (SEIHCRD) model using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. The data used in this study is original data on Infected, Hospitalized and Critical cases in Indonesia from August to October 2021. Dynamic analysis of the model is carried out by determining disease-free and endemic equilibrium points, local stability analysis of disease-free and endemic equilibrium points, and determine the basic reproduction number. The result of this analysis is that the number of new infection cases in Indonesia will decrease over time and the COVID-19 outbreak will end. Then a numerical simulation was carried out using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method in dealing with COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. The simulations and calculations show that the rate of contact of susceptible individuals with infected individuals is 0.06 per day, the rate of movement of individuals in the Exposed class to the Infected class is 0.14 per day, the probability of infected individuals being hospitalized with a value of 0.95, the probability that COVID-19 patients become critical and enter the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a value of 0.485, and the probability of a critical patient dying with a value of 0.25 affects the slope of Infected, Hospitalized and Critical cases in Indonesia. Where Infected cases will be sloping with an absolute error value of 28%, Hospitalized cases with an absolute error value of 20% and Critical cases with an absolute error value of 33%. This research provides information that it is estimated that the daily infection cases of COVID-19 will decrease and be close to zero. So that infected patients who must be hospitalized and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are also decreasing, it is hoped that the COVID-19 pandemic will not happen again
