Abstract

Dayah or pesantren as a traditional Islamic educational institution that has given birth to many Acehnese scholars. The existence and number of dayah in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam is increasing. However, the fact is not balanced with innovations in learning methods, especially interpretation learning. This study aims to provide a detailed picture related to tafsir learning in Dayah Aceh. This research uses qualitative methods with a library research approach. Based on the results of the study, it was found, among others, that the learning of interpretation of most of Dayah Aceh uses the qodim (non-classical) system so that the role of students is limited. The existence of this phenomenon requires the reconstruction of interpretive learning in Dayah Aceh through the use of discovery or inquiry-discovery learning strategies; mastery of learning strategies; Unit Learning Strategies and Reception Learning Strategies

Abstract

The discussion on jihad and suicide bombings in Indonesia shows a new pattern of jihadists and suicide bombers recruiting young women. Jihad is defined by the ulama as a genuine human effort to worship Allah SWT, but there are some people who misinterpret this meaning. This research is field research using a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at three universities in Aceh, namely Teuku Umar University (UTU) in Meulaboh, Malikus Saleh University Lhokseumawe, and IAIN Gajah Puteh in Takengon. Because this research highlights the knowledge of jihad in young women, the research object is female students at the three universities. Meanwhile, data collection techniques include interviews, documentation and social media observations regarding the phenomenon of knowledge of jihad and suicide bombings. The results of this research show that millennial women are less familiar with the word jihad, however, millennial women have their own reasoning about jihad. In response to the Sibolga bomb, the news was not followed closely, but millennial women did not agree with the teachings of the Islamic religion being conveyed in a violent manner.

Abstract

The people of Aceh are most displeased with new things emerging from religion, especially in the name of Islam itself, such as Islam Nusantara. They will first vocally respond to Isnus without looking for details from the source. Especially young Acehnese activists. They are vocal about responding to their own version of Isnus, and mostly update their status on social media about developing issues. This research aims to map the response of young Acehnese activists to the issue of Indonesian Islam; finding the pattern of Indonesian Islam from the perspective of young Acehnese activists; explain the social dynamics of Acehnese society that emerged from the issue of Indonesian Islam; thus giving birth to characteristics or polarization of society with different criteria for the same issue. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this research were carried out through participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. Interviews and observations were conducted with young Acehnese activists. The young Acehnese activists who were informants in this research were cadres of the Muhammadiyah organization, Nahdlatul Ulama, MIUMI, BKPRMI, HMI, PII, Rabithah Taliban Aceh (RTA). and explained to the public comprehensively so that they do not misunderstand Islam. If this is not done, then it would be better if there was no cultivation of Indonesian Islam. This view emerged from BKPRMI, KAMMI, HMI cadres.

Abstract

The implementation of Islamic law in Aceh is not only aimed at maintaining social order but also at shaping empathetic character among the community. However, specific aspects related to the development of empathy have not received sufficient attention in previous research, which mostly focused on rule enforcement and sanctions. This study aims to explore the role of Islamic law in fostering an empathetic character in Aceh society. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The results show that the implementation of Islamic law in Aceh is effective not only in maintaining order but also in significantly shaping the empathetic character of the community. Social activities such as zakat and mutual assistance serve as effective means to foster care and solidarity among the people. This study concludes that Islamic law in Aceh has a strong social dimension and can create a more harmonious community that is empathetic and sensitive to the needs of others. The contribution of this study is to provide a deeper understanding of the social dimension of Islamic law, particularly in fostering empathetic character, which has not been widely addressed in previous studies.

Abstract

Konflik sosial bernuansa SARA pada 13 Oktober 2015 yang terlibat antara umat Islam dan Kristen di Singkil mengakitkan rumah ibadah umat Kristen dibakar massa, satu orang umat Islam meninggal dan juga luka-luka. Aceh Singkil pasca peristiwa tersebut menjadi perhatian publik baik di Nasional maupun Internasional. Kapolda Aceh Irjen. Pol Husein Hamidi dan Mayjen. Agus Kriswanto Pangdam Iskandar Muda langsung terjun ke Aceh Singkil dan menetap di sana selama beberapa hari untuk menenangkan keadaan agar konflik tidak semakin meluas. Kajian ini sangat penting peneliti kaji lebih jauh untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang ada di Singkil, bagaimana bentuknya, dan peranannya. Demikian pula dengan harmonisasi dan moderasi beragama, bagaimana sebetulnya moderasi beragama di Singkil dan bagaimana peran kearifan lokal dalam membangun harmonisasi dan moderasi beragama di Singkil.  Analisa tulisan ini terfokus pada kearifan lokal, harmonisasi dan moderasi beragama antar umat beragama yang ada di Singkil, dan peran kearifan lokal dalam membangun harmonisasi dan moderasi beragama di Singkil.

Abstract

Masyarakat Kristen di Singkil mayoritas berasal dari suku Pakpak. Ada yang mengatakan, bahwa suku Singkil yang ada di Singkil-Subulussalam juga bagian dari suku Pakpak yang pada masa lalu hijrah ke Singkil dan dikenal dengan nama Pakpak Boang (Lister Berutu, dan Nurbani Padang, 2017). Salah satu argumennya karena adanya kesamaan bahasa dan marga. Tapi mayoritas orang Singkil berpendapat bahwa Suku Singkil adalah Singkil dan berbeda dengan Pakpak. Adapun kemiripan bahasa dan marga karena suku Singkil dan Pakpak merupakan satu rumpun yang sama-sama migrasi ke Indonesia dari teluk Martaban (Muadz Vohry, 2013). Terlepas dari perbedaan pendapat itu, ada hal penting yang harus diungkap dan diperbesar, yakni kemiripan marga dan bahasa. Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, orang-orang Singkil yang bukan penutur bahasa Pakpak dapat berkomunikasi dengan baik menggunakan bahasa Pakpak. Selain itu, orang adanya marga yang sama dapat dikaitkan pada kesamaan nenek moyang melalui pembahasan silsilah (Terombo). Ketika peristiwa 2001 terjadi, Pemerintah Daerah segera melakukan upaya pencegahan sehingga keributan tidak sempat terjadi. Bupati Aceh Singkil saat itu, alm. Makmur Syahputra melakukan komunikasi dengan tokoh-tokoh masyarakat kedua belah pihak. Banyak yang percaya, salah satu faktor pendukung keberhasilan Makmur Syahputra mencegah konflik 2001 adalah karena pendekatan marga dan bahasa yang dilakukan dimana beliau sendiri merupakan Suku Pakpak bermarga Bancin. Bila kita gali lebih jauh, sangat mungkin ada hal-hal lain yang bisa diangkat ke permukaan dan dijadikan perekat persatuan dan kerukunan, sehingga dapat memperkecil perbedaan dan mengedepankan persamaan. Hanya saja belum dikaji secara serius.

Abstract

Public speaking ability has become an essential skill in the digital transformation era, particularly in Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the strategies for developing public speaking skills and their impact on students' self-confidence at MAN 1 Banda Aceh and MAN 4 Aceh Besar. The research employs a qualitative descriptive-comparative approach through direct observation, in-depth interviews with school principals, vice principals for student affairs, public speaking trainers, and students, as well as institutional documentation. The findings indicate that both madrasahs implement systematic strategies encompassing initial assessment, goal setting, curriculum development, activity implementation, evaluation and feedback, reinforcement, supporting facilities, visual media utilization, emotional support, and peer collaboration. Four methods are applied: manuscript, memorization (memoriter), impromptu (spontaneity), and extemporaneous (outline elaboration). The implementation of public speaking training significantly impacts students' self-confidence, demonstrated through four aspects: confidence in one's own abilities, capability to make independent decisions, positive self-perception, and courage to express opinions to others. This study concludes that well-structured public speaking development strategies effectively enhance students' self-confidence and communication skills, preparing them to face competitive challenges in the future. The comparative findings reveal that both institutions share similar approaches while maintaining their respective institutional contexts, indicating that program success is determined more by implementation quality and consistency rather than specific organizational models. Abstrak Kemampuan public speaking telah menjadi keterampilan esensial di era transformasi digital, khususnya di lembaga pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis strategi pengembangan kemampuan public speaking dan dampaknya terhadap kepercayaan diri peserta didik di MAN 1 Banda Aceh dan MAN 4 Aceh Besar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-komparatif melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala madrasah, wakil kepala bidang kesiswaan, guru pelatih public speaking, dan peserta didik, serta dokumentasi institusional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua madrasah menerapkan strategi sistematis yang mencakup penilaian awal, penetapan tujuan, pengembangan kurikulum, pelaksanaan kegiatan, evaluasi dan umpan balik, penguatan, fasilitas pendukung, penggunaan media visual, dukungan emosional, dan kolaborasi sesama. Empat metode diterapkan: manuskrip, hafalan (memoriter), spontanitas (impromptu), dan menjabarkan kerangka (ekstemporer). Implementasi pelatihan public speaking berdampak signifikan terhadap kepercayaan diri peserta didik, yang ditunjukkan melalui empat aspek: yakin pada kemampuan sendiri, mampu mengambil keputusan sendiri, mempunyai rasa positif pada diri, dan berani menyatakan pendapat kepada orang lain. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi pengembangan public speaking yang terstruktur dengan baik efektif meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik, mempersiapkan mereka menghadapi tantangan kompetitif di masa depan. Temuan komparatif mengungkapkan bahwa kedua institusi memiliki kesamaan pendekatan dengan konteks institusional masing-masing, mengindikasikan bahwa keberhasilan program lebih ditentukan oleh kualitas implementasi dan konsistensi pelaksanaan daripada model organisasional spesifik.

Abstract

Guru bukannya menjadi pendidik tetapi berperan penting dalam membingbing dan pengawasan kepada peserta didik, guru pendidikan agama Islam sangatlah berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas keagamaan peserta didik nya, dalam hal ini seorang guru mimiliki strategi tersendiri dalam mengomtimalkan pelaksanaa shalat zuhur berjama’ah di sekolah MAN 3 Aceh Besar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam mengoptimalkan pelaksanaan shalat zuhur berjama’ah serta untuk mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pelaksanaannya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru pendidikan Agama Islam dan beberapa peserta didik MAN 3 Banda Aceh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam mengoptimalkan pelaksanaan shalat zuhur berjama’ah meliputi beberapa langkah, yaitu: (1) melakukan absensi kehadiran siswa, (2) memberikan motivasi secara rutin, (3) membiasakan siswa untuk melaksanakan shalat berjama’ah tepat waktu, (4) memberikan hukuman yang bersifat edukatif, (5) memberikan pembinaan dan nasihat secara berkelanjutan, serta (6) adanya guru piket yang mengontrol pelaksanaan shalat. Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan program ini antara lain adanya sarana prasarana yang memadai, kekompakan guru, dan sistem piket yang berjalan baik. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya meliputi kurangnya kesadaran sebagian siswa serta tidak adanya pengawasan ketika guru piket berhalangan hadir.

Abstract

Values based learning emphasizes the cultivation of students’ character, moral reasoning, and spirituality alongside cognitive achievement. In Islamic education, Sufism or tasawuf can be approached as a pedagogical lens that foregrounds self-purification or tazkiyat al-nafs, moral formation, and the meaning of knowledge as a pathway to ethical and spiritual maturity. This article examines the philosophical foundations of Sufism in Islamic education, the relevance of core Sufi values to values based learning, and their pedagogical implications for teachers and classroom practices. Using a qualitative library research design with descriptive analytical and thematic content analysis, this study synthesizes classical and contemporary literature on Sufism, Islamic pedagogy, and character education. The review indicates that key Sufi values such as sincerity or ikhlas, patience or sabar, humility or tawadhu’, ascetic self-restraint or zuhud, and muraqabah as self-awareness under divine supervision are conceptually aligned with values based learning and can be internalized through teacher role modeling, habituation, reflective learning or muhasabah, and contextual integration across subjects. Effective implementation, however, depends on teacher readiness and systematic instructional design to ensure that values education moves beyond purely normative transmission.

Abstract

Bullying in schools is a social problem that has serious impacts on the mental well-being and physical condition of students who experience it. This study aims to examine the various forms of bullying and the efforts made by Islamic Religious Education teachers to suppress this behavior at MIN 15 Aceh Besar. A qualitative approach was used in this study, collecting data through observation and interviews. The research findings show that bullying most often occurs in verbal forms such as teasing that offends family identity and derogatory remarks and physical acts such as pushing and taking belongings from peers without consent. In response, Islamic Religious Education teachers implement preventative measures through engaging learning activities, reinforcing religious values, and creating a friendly and inclusive school climate. However, the implementation of these strategies still faces several obstacles, including emotional pressure on students from the family environment, weak communication between the school and parents, and excessive parental involvement in student conflicts. Therefore, close synergy between educators, families, and all school elements is crucial in creating a safe learning environment free from bullying.ABSTRAKPerundungan di sekolah merupakan persoalan sosial yang menimbulkan dampak serius terhadap kesejahteraan mental dan kondisi fisik peserta didik yang mengalaminya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji ragam bentuk bullying serta upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam menekan perilaku tersebut di MIN 15 Aceh Besar. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan pengumpulan data melalui kegiatan observasi dan wawancara. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa perundungan paling sering muncul dalam bentuk verbal—seperti olok-olok yang menyinggung identitas keluarga dan ujaran merendahkan—serta tindakan fisik berupa dorongan dan pengambilan barang milik teman tanpa persetujuan. Dalam merespons kondisi tersebut, guru Pendidikan Agama Islam menerapkan langkah-langkah pencegahan melalui aktivitas pembelajaran yang bersifat menarik, penguatan nilai-nilai keagamaan, dan pembentukan iklim sekolah yang ramah serta inklusif. Namun, pelaksanaan strategi ini masih menghadapi sejumlah hambatan, antara lain tekanan emosional siswa yang berasal dari lingkungan keluarga, lemahnya komunikasi antara pihak sekolah dan orang tua, serta keterlibatan orang tua yang berlebihan dalam konflik siswa. Oleh sebab itu, sinergi yang erat antara pendidik, keluarga, dan seluruh unsur sekolah menjadi faktor krusial dalam mewujudkan lingkungan belajar yang aman dan terbebas dari praktik bullying.
