Abstract

Business Crab (Portunus pelagicus) Kawal Village waters are waters located in the Gunung Kijang area, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. High market demand for crab fishery commodities that triggers excessive exploitation so that it can have an impact on the sustainability of crab resources. This study aims to determine the condition of the sex ratio and the pattern of crab growth in the waters of Kawal Village, Bintan Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method. The sampling technique was carried out using a random census, in which the researcher immediately went down to the field to take a sample of 176 crabs. The results showed a good sex ratio for female crabs at 52% and male crabs at 48%, which has calculated the Chi-square test which between females and males has a balanced ratio, which results in: X2 count of 33, 2 while X table is 74,975 which if X2 count < X table: male and female sex ratio is balanced. The growth pattern of both female and male crabs in the waters of Kawal Village, Bintan Regency has a negative allometric character where the growth pattern of carapace width is greater than weight growth.

Abstract

Kawal Waters is one of the waters in Bintan which has good fishery resources, one of that is the blue swimming crab. The Blue Swimming Crab (Portunus pelagicus) is one of the important economic fisheries resources belonging to the Portunidae family. The blue swimming crab is one of the most common organisms used by the community. The purpose of the study was to determine food composition of blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) in Kawal waters of Bintan Island, Riau Island on June 2021. The sampling used random sampling method. There were 34 individuals used for food composition analysis. The  food  composition  in  the  stomach  of blue  swimming  crab  consisted  of three groups of microalgae, crustacea, and detritus. The food composition in the adult size was found microalgae groups with the percentage composition 78%. It was followed by crustacea of 18,06%, and detritus of 5,12%. The highest of indeks of stomatch contens is in morning caught of 1,15 for males and 1,28 for female.

Abstract

Red crab (Thalamita spinimana) is a type of crab that has a light body color, favored by coastal communities for its thick meat and high protein content at a low selling price. This research purpose to determine the maturity level of female red crabs. This research was conducted using a survey method with sampling twice for two months which was carried out from April to May 2021 in Dompak Waters, Tanjungpinang. The results of the research found that TKG I was immature gonads. Female red crabs incubate eggs (Ovigerous) with yellow and orange color, dominated by immature gonads, while brown and dark gray colors are dominated by mature gonads.

Abstract

The morphometric characteristics of the red crab (Thalamita spinimana) have not been widely studied. This research was conducted from March to May 2021 in the waters of Dompak Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands. Each sample obtained directly measured the morphometric part using a caliper or calipers with an accuracy of 0.05 mm and the crab body weight was also weighed using a digital scale with an accuracy of 0.1 g. The samples obtained during the study were 119 crabs, of which 84 female red crabs and 35 male red crabs. The carapace width range for female crabs is 55.40 – 88.32 mm, while in male crabs the carapace width range is 16.35 and 34 individuals 68.96 – 90.94 mm. The weight of female red crabs is in the range of 50.0 – 103.6 g, while the weight of male crabs is in the range of 49.0 – 142.8 g.

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of this study was to determine the community structure of macrozoobenthic orgamism in Senggarang creek, Bintan island, Riau Islands. Samples were taken from four stations by purpossive method. Macrozoobenthic were collected by surber net, there were three replications in each station.  The result showed that  there were found six phylums and 17 genera  of macrozoobenthic. Macrobrachium sp. was the higest density. The higest density was found in third station (middle of river, no antropogenic influenced) about 140 ind m-2. The diversity and similarity indices were medium, with low dominance indice. Based on macrozoobenthic organism, the environmetal condition of Senggarang creek was stabile. Keywords: Bintan, creek, Macrobrachium sp., macrozoobenthic, Senggarang Abstrak. Indeks keanekaragaman tergolong sedang, indeks keseragaman sedang, indeks dominansi rendah. Berdasarkan keberadaan makrozoobenthos, lingkungan perairan sungai di Senggarang relatif stabil.Kata kunci: Bintan, Macrobrachium sp., makrozoobenthos, Senggarang, sungai

Abstract

The objective of this study were to determine the density, the growth rate, and growth of biomass of Vallisneria gigantea. This research was conducted on May-June 2020 in a river in Senggarang, Tanjungpinang City. This research was used random sampling method of 30 points using transect quadrant (50x50 cm). The results showed that V. gigantea had a density value of 148.80 ind/m2. The growth rate of V. gigantea was 0.06 cm/day and biomass growth were 21.71 gr/m2. Light intencity was the principle component of V. gigantea’s leaf growth rate while  pH, velocity, and temperatur were principle component for growth biomass leaf. Keywords: Density; Giant Vallisneria; Growth; Macrophyte; Productivity
