Abstract

Black cumin (Nigella sativa, L.) is a plant with a lot of advantages. Many research have been conducted on this plant and most of them use nonpolar, such as petroleum ether and chloroform, as a solvent in extraction process. In this research, extraction of black cumin using ethanol was applied.Black cumin extraction started with maceration using ethanol p.a. and partition using chloroform (1:1). The antioxidant activity of ethanol fraction of black cumin was examined by DPPH method. To identify the composition, phytochemical screening, including test for terpenoid, flavonoid, saponin, tannin and alkaloid, was also conducted.The result showed that the scavenging ability on DPPH method was 22.483% with IC50 2743.59. Phytochemical screening on ethanol fraction showed the presence of flavonoid, tannin and alkaloid. The study concluded that polar fraction of black cumin has small antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Sea cucumber Paracaudina australis crackers is one of the sea foods processed which highly produced and consumed at Kenjeran Surabaya. The research aims to measure concentration of mercury and copper in fried and un-fried sea cucumber Paracaudina australis, Crackers collected from three supplier at Kenjeran Surabaya Using Atomic Absorption S Spectroscopy (AAS). The six sample were oxidized using oxidator agents  of HNO3 Pa, H2SO4 Pa, H2O2 Pa (6:2:1) under wet-closed digestion for Hg analysis and wet-opened digestion for Cu analysis. Vapor generation Accessory (VGA-AAS) was applied for measuring Hg concentration while flame AAS for Cu. The research indicated that Hg concentration in sea cucumber crackers were 0,058; 0,0149; 0,108 ppb (un-fried crackers) and 0,078; 0,074; 0,061 ppb (fried crackers) Cu concentration in sea cucumber crackers was measured as 2,037; 3,05; 3,16 ppm (un-fried crackers) and 1,164; 1,589; 1,924 ppm (fried crackers).

Abstract

Gelatin, a proteinaceous additive, is obtained from hydrolysis of collagen in the bone, hide and skin of animals. As natural product, gelatin has been applied in many industries with various functions. This study attempt to characterize gelatin profile of broiler chicken (Gallus domestica) using SDS-PAGE electrophoresis. The chicken bone was pretreated using a strong base, sodium hydroxide, producing type B gelatin. The gelatin was purified through precipitation using the variation of ammonium sulfate concentrations (40-70%) and dialysis using cellophane membrane. The purified gelatin was characterized through SDS-PAGE electrophoresis. Based on electrophoresis visualization, reduction of band intensity by ammonium sulfate 40% showed removal of small peptide fragments. The remained gelatin showed two major bands, α-chains and a β-chain with the respective molecular weight of ~135 and ~245 kDa. The protein content of the unpurified gelatin (E1) was 71.65±0.60 mg/L.  The purified E1 gelatins by 40-70% of ammonium sulfate addition contained 61.42±3.90, 60.45±1.36, 59.89±0.24, and 55.32±1.05 mg/L of protein concentration, respectively. Keywords: chicken bone, gelatin profile, protein electrophoresis

Abstract

Sebagian besar penduduk di desa Karangagung kecamatan Palang kabupaten Tuban adalah nelayan buruh, penghidupan para nelayan sangat ditentukan oleh irama musim. Ketika musim paceklik para nelayan buruh tidak memiliki pekerjaan, oleh karena itu untuk menunjang pendapatan keluarga keterlibatan anggota keluarga yang lain sangat dibutuhkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) bentuk-bentuk peran istri dalam menunjang penghasilan keluarga nelayan buruh di desa Karangagung kecamatan Palang kabupaten Tuban dan (2) sumbangan istri terhadap pendapatan keluarga nelayan buruh di Desa Karangagung kecamatan Palang kabupaten Tuban. Jenis penelitian ini adalah survei. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 1.437 istri nelayan buruh. Sampel penelitian diambil sebanyak 93 orang. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian dapat dideskripsikan sebagai berikut. (1) Dari 93 responden yang mempunyai peran dalam menunjang pendapatan keluarga sebanyak 82 orang (88,18%) dan sebanyak 11 orang (11,82%) tidak mempunyai peran sama sekali. Bentuk peran istri nelayan buruh dibagi menjadi 2, yaitu (a) peran yang tidak dipengaruhi oleh musim sebanyak 22 orang (26,83%) dan (b) peran yang dipengaruhi oleh musim sebanyak 60 orang (73,17%). (2) Besaran sumbangan istri nelayan buruh terhadap pendapatan keluarga dibedakan menjadi 3, yaitu: sumbangan yang tidak dipengaruhi oleh musim yaitu 27,45%, sumbangan yang dipengaruhi oleh musim panen yaitu 13,78%, dan sumbangan yang dipengaruhi oleh musim paceklik sebanyak 99,4%.   Kata Kunci: nelayan buruh, ekonomi rumah tangga nelayan, peran istri nelayan buruh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan motivasi belajar matematika siswa yang menggunakan media permainan Kotak dan Kartu Misterius (KOKAMI) dengan siswa yang tidak menggunakan media permainan KOKAMI/ pembelajaran konvemsional.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan dua kelompok siswa yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 76 siswa. 39 orang siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 37 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol yaitu kelompok yang tanpa menggunakan KOKAMI. Instrument yang digunakan angket dan pedoman observasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket awal dan akhir pembelajaran serta pengamatan langsung sebelum dan saat pembelajaran . Analisis data dengan menggunakan uji – t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan motivasi siswa yang menggunakan media permainan Kotak dan Kartu Misterius (KOKAMI) dengan siswa yang tidak menggunakan media permainan KOKAMI, ditunjukkan dengan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh t hitung angket 6,54; t hitung observasi 3,96 dan t tabel 1,99. t hitung lebih besar dari t tabel sehingga Ho dalam penelitian ditolak dan Ha diterima, dengan demikian terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan skor motivasi belajar siswa yang menggunakan media permainan KOKAMI dengan motivasi siswa yang tanpa menggunakan KOKAMI dalam pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan adanya pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika di masa pandemi covid-19 dimana matematika dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang sulit terutama materi keliling dan luas bangun datar dengan rumus yang banyak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subyek penelitian 2 orang guru dan 12 orang siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan skenario pembelajaran online dipersiapkan dan dibuat guru.Kendala guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran online terkait sarana komunikasi berbasis IT yang belum memadai, kemampuan guru dalam membuat media berbasis IT, tingkat memahami materi serta peran serta orang tua dalam pendampingan belajar. Bahan ajar, LKS dan tugas yang diberikan dalam pembelajaran online sudah bervariasi. Upaya yang harus dilakukan agar pembelajaran online efektif yakni guru meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang berbagai jenis pembelajaran online, pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis IT dan peningkatan sarana prasarana komunikasi berbasis IT. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran online matematika pada materi keliling dan luas bangun datar kelas IV belum efektif , terdapat beberapa kendala yang sangat berperan penting dalam terlaksananya pembelajaran online.

Abstract

Black garlic is a traditional spice having potential of herbal medicine; however, continuous heating darkens its color and changes its taste due to chemical processes and new equilibrium in the system. In this study, fresh garlic was processed into black garlic at 60 °C for 24 days. Changes in physical and chemical parameters, such as browning and protein content, reducing sugar content, and antioxidative components were recorded. Protein content was measured by Kjeldahl method, brown color development was analyzed using a color reader, reducing sugar was examined using a dinitro salicylic DNS reagent, and antioxidative activities were studied with a diphenyl picrylhydrazyl DPPH reagent in terms of their percent inhibition. Gas chromatography – mass sepctrometry (GC–MS) and Liquid Chromatography-High Relosultion Mass Spectrometry (LC–HRMS) were performed to determine the chemical profiles. Results showed a number of interesting features. The protein and sugar contents increased up to 3 and 4 times that of the initial values, respectively during processing. The antioxidative properties improved in the later stages. The chemical profiles of volatile and nonvolatile components were altered in their final stage. Sulfur and nitrogen-containing nonvolatile components were relatively stable during heating, but their compositions changed. The natural chemical changes reflect the biological potential dynamics in biological processes as herbal supplements. The reflection of the processes might go further into food chemistry and the food industry. This needs an interdisciplinary approach, expanded to biological concepts and safe, ethical industrial processes.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Cakupan kelas ibu hamil di Kabupaten Cirebon mencapai 67,1%. Cakupan kelas ibu hamil di Kecamatan Gegesik Kabupaten Cirebon pada tahun 2021 sebesar 38,2% lalu pada tahun 2022 sebesar 40,34%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kinerja fasilitator berdasarkan ACHIEVE Model dengan capaian target pelaksanaan kelas ibu hamil di Kecamatan Gegesik Kabupaten Cirebon 2023.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional. Populasi dan sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 100 orang dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian mengunakan lembar kuesioner tertutup. Analisis data meliputi analisis univariat, analisis bivariat menggunakan uji korelasi Rank Spearman dan analisis multivariat menggunakan uji regresi logistik.Hasil: Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara Ability (p = 0,000), Clarity (p = 0,001),Help (p = 0,015), Incentive (p = 0,001), Validity (p = 0,011), Evaluation (p = 0,002) dan Environtment (p = 0,002) dengan capaian target pelaksanaan kelas ibu hamil di Puskesmas. Variabel paling dominan yang berhubungan dengan capaian target pelaksanaan kelas ibu hamil yaitu variabel Clarity dengan nilai p = 0,004 dan OR 3,970 (95% CI 1,765 – 7,141).Kesimpulan: Variabel paling dominan yang berhubungan dengan capaian target pelaksanaan kelas ibu hamil yaitu variabel Clarity.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in shaping individual character and abilities. Thematic learning, which combines several subjects under one theme, is increasingly popular. This research explores the implications of thematic learning in grade 5 of SD Wonorejo, Pekalongan Regency. The aim of this research is to describe the implications of class V thematic learning at MI Salafiyah Wonorejo. This research method uses descriptive qualitative, data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results explain that thematic learning environments are carried out both inside and outside the classroom. Thematic learning uses varied learning. This varied learning is adapted to student characteristics. Thematic learning as an integration approach naturally connects facts and ideas in an effort to understand the world. Through a theme network, students can connect ideas with experiences and the environment where students live. The implications of thematic learning include teacher creativity, active student participation, and the use of integrated textbooks. This research is relevant for improving the quality of education by designing more effective learning strategies.

Abstract

During the early age range, children experience rapid development in various aspects. Seeing the importance of this period, appropriate stimulation efforts from the environment are needed to optimize the development of all abilities of children, including the ability to begin reading. Kindergarten children have begun to be taught to read the beginning but must be in accordance with the stages of child development, without coercion, in a fun way and should be guided by the teacher because it basically provides learning to start reading in early childhood must be with a playful atmosphere pleasant and no pressure. But in reality the process of learning to begin reading in kindergarten is still rampant using reading learning strategies that are too academic and rigid like in Elementary Schools. Therefore, researchers designed an educational game called Happy Ball that uses picture word cards. Through this Happy Ball game, it is hoped that the atmosphere of early reading learning activities for young children will be interesting and fun, the ability to read the beginning of the child is expected to be directed and develop better in a happy atmosphere. It is hoped that this game can also be used by educators to develop early reading skills in early childhood.
