Abstract

Natural disasters in Indonesia constantly occur every single year and have adverse effects. In order to minimize those negative effects, it is crucially needed to increase disaster literacy in the society, which starts from the students. To improve disaster literacy, students must be assisted with teaching materials that focus on disaster material, such as disaster education e-books. Disaster education e-books are teaching materials that contain the vibration, waves, and disaster materials combined with a webbed integration model. This research aimed to measure the validity level of the developed disaster education e-book. The research method applied was research and development with the 4D development model proposed by Thiagarajan et al. (1974). However, this research did not reach the disseminating stage, so the development model used became a 3D model consisting of defining, designing, and developing stages.  Validation questionnaires were used to measure product validity, and these questionnaires were assessed by two expert lecturers and three science teachers. The development of teaching materials in the disaster education e-books form scored 81%, and it was categorized in the valid category. As a result, the disaster education e-book developed was valid for use at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Natural disasters can negatively affect life because they cause damage. Therefore, students have to be equipped with knowledge regarding them. One way is to use a student worksheet based on a scientific approach to waves and disasters. This research aimed to measure the validity levels of the student worksheet based on the developed scientific approach. According to Thiagarajan, the research and development method with the 4D development model. However, the development stage was narrowed down by defining, designing, and developing. These steps were done because this research is limited by energy, time, and cost and focused on measuring product validity; as a result, the dissemination stage was not conducted. The instrument used in this research was validation sheets filled out by two expert lecturers and three science teachers. The research results showed that the validity level of the student worksheet based on a scientific approach oriented to critical thinking skills on wave and disaster themes obtained a percentage of 83.62%, with very valid criteria. As a result, the student worksheet based on the scientific approach of the wave and disaster theme can be tested in science learning to foster students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Infographic learning media is one of the intermediaries in the learning process made with graphic design, namely canvas. This media infographic is used to give Canva learning materials to students to achieve a learning goal. This study aims to develop learning media infographics and determine the level of validity. The media used is research and development or Research and Development adapted from the Borg and Gall development model, consisting of three stages, namely Research and Information Collecting, Planning, and Preliminary Form of Product. The research instruments used in this study were interview sheets and validation sheets. This study indicates that the level of validity of the infographic learning media on the theme of the green growth in training critical thinking skills of seventh-grade students obtained an average value of 78.94% with a valid category so that infographic learning media can be used in the learning process.
