Abstract

The negative Impact of climate change and food security are crucial issues for Indonesia with a large population. Agricultural sector as a contributor about 5-7 percent to CO2 emissions, is a victim of climate change as this sector is very sensitive to the change of climate such as rise of temperature, drought, El Nino and La Nina and rise sea level. The decline in production due to climate change and extreme climate is very risky for Indonesia's food security. Various studies and studies have been conducted to evaluate the impact of climate change. However, since 2009, voluntary commitment of Indonesian Government to reduce 26 percent of CO2 emissions set up the strong effort in many sectors to adapt with climate change. In agriculture, improving soil quality is key in maintaining food production. Soil conservation using vegetative or engineering technique is one of the most important technology. Nutrient management by applying balance fertilization, the use of organic material and ameliorant such as biochar, zeolite and other natural mineral are beneficial for plant production. All these ameliorants will be very useful in maintain soil organic matter (SOM) and soil carbon which very important in increasing water holding capacity. Water harvesting is one option to capture high precipitation and important to irrigate agricultural area. Besides, the use of cropping calendars, high yielding varieties which adapt to biophysical stress will be very useful. Other effort is also needed to control the peat fire, peat drainage and deforestation.

Abstract

Abstract Fulfilment of nutrients in the land must be cultivated by increasing the physical and biological properties of the soil so that the presence of nutrients in the ground will be more maintained. The application of technology often used in land use efforts is mostly only focused on chemical fertilization activities. One alternative to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers is to use liquid organic fertilizer (POC) in thitonia and calotropis plant extracts and cow urine. This study aims to obtain a combination of plant extracts that can increase the growth and yield of maize plants and the best blend of biourin and plant extracts in suppressing pests and diseases in maize. The research was carried out on the land of the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University (Eksfarm), Makassar City, South Sulawesi, from September to December 2019. The research was arranged using a split-plot design with the first factor as the main plot. The application consisted of 4 levels namely without spraying (K), a combination of bio urine, tithonia extract, calotropis extract, pineapple MOL (B1), bio urine, tithonia extract, calotropis extract (B2) and bio urine (B3) with each application dose of 40 ml/1 liter of water. The second factor as a sub-plot was the spraying interval at the age of 14 DAS which consisted of 3 levels, namely without application, once a week, once in two weeks. The results showed that the application of biourin could increase the growth rate and yield of corn plants. The combination of biourin with plant extracts had a significant effect on the level of pest attack that attacked the leaves and cobs of corn plants and the best interaction between the intervals of application of biourin in increasing the productivity of spraying plants per two weeks.     Keywords: Biourine, Spodoptera litura, Tithonia, Calotropis, Pest attack rate

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh biochar tongkol jagung dan konsentrasi fermentasi air beras terhadap perkembangan bunga dan buah tanaman kakao. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kaloling, Kecamatan Gantarang Keke, Kabupaten Bantaeng, Sulawesi Selatan pada Oktober 2020 hingga Januari 2021. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk percobaan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah (RPT). Petak utama adalah biochar tongkol jagung yang terdiri atas biochar tongkol jagung 2,5 kg/pohon dan biochar tongkol jagung 5 kg/pohon. Anak petak adalah konsentrasi fermentasi air beras yang terdiri atas sitokinin 60 ppm (kontrol positif), tanpa pemberian konsentrasi fermentasi air beras (kontrol negatif), konsentrasi fermentasi air beras 15%, 30% dan 45%. Setiap ulangan terdiri atas 2 unit dengan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 60 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan biochar tongkol jagung dengan konsentrasi fermentasi air beras yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap perkembangan bunga dan buah kakao. Perlakuan biochar tongkol jagung 5 kg memberikan hasil persentase pentil gugur terendah (20,67%) dan persentase buah bertahan tertinggi (3,73%). Perlakuan konsentrasi fermentasi air beras 30% memberikan hasil persentase bunga gugur terendah (87,26%), jumlah pentil yang terbentuk tertinggi (18,50 buah) dan persentase buah bertahan tertinggi (2,68%). Sedangkan perlakuan konsentrasi fermentasi air beras 45% memberikan jumlah bunga muncul tertinggi (223,33 bunga).

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of each component of cultivation technology application on the production of rice (Oryza Sativa L.) in South Sulawesi. This research was carried out in three rain-type sectors within South Sulawesi Province, namely Maros for the West Sector, Bone for the East Sector, and North Luwu for the Transitional sector. A study was conducted from December 2019 to January 2020 in the form of a survey (study literature, observation, and interviews), with the selection of samples carried out purposively to 90 respondents. Data analysis employed multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The results showed that the average rice production in Maros, Bone and North Luwu regencies, South Sulawesi, was still relatively low, Maros Regency was 7,032 kg per ha, Bone was 5,020 kg per ha and North Luwu was 6,497 kg per ha. The multiple regression equation for rice production in Maros, Bone and North Luwu Regencies, South Sulawesi is Y = 3354,185 -17,751X1 – 4,044X2 +36,839X3 . Factors from the aspect of cultivation technology application can increase rice production. Variables of cropping system, irrigation system, and fertilizer dose had a significant effect on rice production, while the variables of varieties and harvest time did not have a significant effect on rice production.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of Sansevieria plants in absorbing carbon monoxide (CO) and to determine the relationship of stomatal conditions to the quality of carbon monoxide (CO) absorption. The research was conducted in the form of a 2-factor factorial experiment using a Randomized Group Design as the environmental design. The experiment consisted of 2 factors, the first factor was the variety of Sansevieria plants consisting of three varieties, namely Sansevieria trifasciata, Sansevieria cylindrica and Sansevieria green hahnii, while the second factor was the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) consisting of two levels, namely: the concentration of carbon monoxide released at 300 ppm and the concentration of carbon monoxide released at 800 ppm. The results showed that there was no interaction between varieties of Sansevieria plants with carbon monoxide concentrations on the quality of carbon monoxide (CO) gas absorption. The results showed no interaction between the varieties of Sansevieria plants and carbon monoxide concentrations in terms of the quality of carbon monoxide (CO) gas absorption. Sansevieria plant varieties that are given a carbon monoxide concentration of 300 ppm give the best effect on the total percentage of carbon monoxide gas absorption, which is 89.50%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to estimate the inheritance pattern of qualitative character traits from the F2 population of the Bara x Ungara and Dewata cross. The study was conducted in the experimental garden of Unhas, Tamalanrea sub-district, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The quantitative character traits observed consisted of four characters, namely, the color of the flower corolla, the coloring of the immature fruit, the branching habit, and the nodal color. The results showed that the population of F2 crosses showed a purplish-green color (34) as the dominant color in immature fruits. Crosses with the Ungara variety exhibited a significant contribution to the color in the immature fruit. The nodal color characters is closely related to the duplication interaction pattern between alleles at different loci

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mempelajari pengaruh aplikasi actinomycetes dan pupuk npk pada pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bibit tebu (Saccharum officinarum L). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Plantation Nursery dan Laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah (RPT). Petak utama adalah pupuk NPK yang terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu tanpa pupuk (kontrol), pupuk NPK 2,5 gr / tanaman (200 kg/ha) dan pupuk NPK 5 gr / tanaman (400 kg/ha). Anak petak adalah pemberian Actinomycetes dengan 4 taraf yaitu, tanpa actinomycetes (Kontrol), Actinomycetes 104 CFU / ml / tanaman, actinomycetes 105 CFU / ml /tanaman dan actinomycetes 106 CFU / ml /tanaman. Koloni terbaik actinomycetes yang memberi pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan bibit tanaman tebu yaitu pada perlakuan a1 (104 CFU/ml actinomycetes) pada jumlah daun, tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang. Dosis pupuk NPK yang memberi pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan bibit tanaman tebu adalah 5 g/tanaman. Interaksi antara actinomycetes dan pupuk NPK yang memberi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bibit tanaman tebu terbaik terdapat pada parameter berat basah batang tertinggi yaitu 22,01 g.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh pemberian kompos Azolla dan Trichoderma asperellum terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman bibit kopi arabika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Penangkar Bibit Buntu Pasele, Rantepao, Toraja Utara, Sulawesi Selatan, dengan luas perkebunan sebesar 1 ha dan berada pada ketinggian 800-1200 mdpl. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah (RPT). Petak utama adalah dosis Trichoderma asperellum terdiri atas 3 taraf, yaitu: 0 g/polybag, 20 g/polybag, dan 40 g/polybag, sedangkan anak petak adalah dosis kompos Azolla terdiri atas 4 taraf yaitu: 0 g/polybag, 10 g/polybag, 20 g/polybag dan 30 g/polybag. Berdasakan kedua faktor tersebut terdapat 12 kombinasi perlakuan, dan setiap kombinasi perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga diperoleh 36 satuan percobaan. Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 3 (tiga) tanaman, sehingga jumlah keseluruhan adalah 108 tanaman percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara Trichoderma asperellum dan kompos Azolla memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap jumlah daun (11,33 helai), klorofil total (592,8 µmol.m-2) dan kerapatan stomata (422,9 µm2). Dosis kompos Azolla memberikan hasil terbaik pada tinggi tanaman (23,81 cm), bera akar basah (3,04 g), berat akar kering (0,79 g), berat kering tajuk (5,28 g), klorofil a (401,4 µmol.m-2), klorofil b (202,3 µmol.m-2), luas bukaan stomata (57,3 µm2). Dosis Trichoderma asperellum memberikan hasil terbaik pada berat basah tajuk (18,32 g).

Abstract

Pemanfaatan lahan di bawah naungan kelapa sangat berpotensi untuk ditanami dengan tanaman sela seperti jagung. Namun, pertumbuhan jagung di bawah naungan kelapa berbeda-beda sehingga memerlukan analisis produksi jagung agar dapat meningkatkan produksi jagung secara efisien. Tujuan dilaksanakan penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan validasi terhadap model tanaman jagung dan melakukan analisis produksi jagung di bawah naungan tanaman kelapa. Penelitian ini menggunakan aplikasi DSSAT (Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer) pada sistem komputer windows. Penelitian ini menggunakan data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian di Balitsereal dan data dari Staklim Sulsel Kab. Maros. Data yang digunakan berupa data manajemen tanam, data tanah, data iklim harian dan data pengukuran tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil validasi model tanam yang diuji menggunakan RMSEn memberikan nilai 2,6% untuk parameter ADAP dan 11% untuk parameter HWAM. Simulasi produksi jagung dibawah naungan kelapa berumur 5, 20 50 tahun dan tanpa naungan kelapa didapatkan berturut-turut 2609, 678, 3795 dan 5430 (kg[dm] ha-1). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah hasil validasi model termasuk dalam ketogori sangat baik dan baik. Hasil analisis produksi jagung di bawah naungan kelapa didapatkan penurunan hasil yang siginfikan berdasarkan umur tanaman kelapa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh interaksi biochar janggel jagung dan pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman melon (Cucumis melo L.). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian Sulawesi Selatan, Kebun Percobaan Jeneponto, Sulawesi Selatan pada bulan Agustus - Oktober 2023. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menggunakaan percobaan faktorial 2 faktor dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok sebagai rancangan lingkungan yang digunakan. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis biochar janggel Jagung yang terdiri atas 3 taraf, yaitu tanpa biochar, biochar 5 t /ha, biochar 10 t /ha. Faktor kedua yaitu pupuk NPK yang terdiri atas 4 taraf, yaitu tanpa pupuk NPK, pupuk NPK 100 kg /ha, pupuk NPK 200 kg /ha, dan pupuk NPK 300 kg /ha. Hasil peneltian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi interaksi antara perlakuan dosis biochar janggel jagung 10 t/ha dan pupuk NPK Plus 300 kg/ha memberikan hasil tertinggi pada rasio bunga, indeks klorofil daun tengah, dan padatan terlarut. Sedangkan pada interaksi perlakuan dosis biochar 5 t/ha dan pupuk NPK 300 kg/ha memberikan hasil tertinggi pada parameter ketebalan daging buah. Perlakuan dosis biochar janggel jagung 10 t/ha memberikan hasil tertinggi pada umur berbunga. Perlakuan dosis pupuk NPK Plus memberikan hasil tertingi pada indeks klorofil daun tua, diameter buah, bobot buah, dan bobot per hektar.
