Abstract

Discovery learning model is one model that can increase student activity in the learning process so that students seek and find their own knowledge. This study aims to determine the effect of discovery learning model on the cognitive improvement of students on Biology material in X class. Research method used in this research is quasi experiment with research design of Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The population in the study consisted of 5 classes totaling 256 students. Sampling is used by using simple random sampling technique. The sample of this study is X MIA 1 class as experiment amounted to 37 and X MIA 3 class as the control class amounted to 45 students. In the learning process, the experimental class is treated by using discovery learning model and control class is taught with conventional model. The results of this study indicate that the average Ngain of the experimental class is 0.56 which is in the medium category and the average N-gain for the control class is 0.30 which belongs to the low category. Data analysis using t-test with significant level 0,05 obtained tarithmetic = 7,470 while t-table = 1,667 seen that t-arithmetic> t-table. This can be seen from the calculation of cognitive t-test showed students sig. t-arithmetic 0.000 <0,05, then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. The result of the analysis of the average increase of cognitive completeness of the experimental students. In the experimental class reaches 32.65% while the cognitive students in the control class is 12.42% which means that the cognitive of the experimental class is higher than the control class instudent's cognitive. Thus, it can be deduced that the Disccovery learning model has an effect on the students’ cognitive improvement on X class student biology material.

Abstract

Learning method Probing Prompting is a technique of learning by way of teachers presents a series of questions that are guided and dig so that there is a thought process that links the knowledge of each student and his experience with new knowledge being studied. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of learning method Probing Prompting with media images of students' learning motivation on science subjects in MTs Patra Mandiri Palembang academic year 2017/2018. This type of research is a quantitative research. The results showed that there was a positive influence on the use of the probingmethod prompting of student learning motivation, this can be seen from the results of t test ie t arithmetic 11.87 > t table 1,666 with significance level (α) = 0,05. It shows H a received and H 0 rejected, as well as based on comparison of mean scores and the percentage of student motivation indicates that the experimental class is superior to the control class. Keywords: education, learning, learning motivation

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of resitation learning methods to cognitive learning results of students on Fungi material in the X class in one of senior high school in Palembang. Research method in this research is a quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group design research design. The technique of sampling is using the saturated sampling technique. The instruments used in this research are a test to measure the students' understanding of the cognitive basis with categories reserved C1-C4. Based on the results of data analysis using t-test obtained results that there is a difference of the second posttest average group retrieved value amounted to 5,328 whereas significant extent values by 5%. This shows that the alternative hypothesis was received and zero hypothesis was rejected. This indicates that resitation learning method effects on cognitive learning result of students on the fungi material. Keywords: cognitive, learning methods, material, fungi resitation, the results of the study

Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of method of Mind Mapping to learning activities of students on classification of living things material in VII Class at one of Junior High School in Palembang. Research methods used in this research is a Quasi Experimental Design. The population in this research is the whole students in VII class of Junior High School that consist of 2 classes numbered 64 students. Sampling that used is purposive sampling technique. The sample of this research is VII.1 class with 32 students as experiment class and VII.2 class with 32 students as a control class. On the process of learning, experimental class taught by using Mind Mapping method and the control class by using the conventional methods (discussion group). Data collection is using the observation sheet of student learning activities that have been tested using the formula of Aiken's v. The results of this study showed that the average student learning activities on the experimental class in 2 meetings i.e. 79, 2% of students who have been active with very active category. On the control class that the percentage of liveliness is 73,90% students with active category. The results of data analysis is using t-test with significant level 0,05 obtained tarithmetic = 3,775 while ttable = 1,671 so tarithmetic > ttable. Therefore Ha is received and H0 is rejected. It can be inferred that Mind Mapping methods can affect tostudent learning activities. Keywords: classification of livings learning activity, mind mapping, science

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Role Playing learning model on the understanding of concepts on environmental pollution material . This research was conducted in one of senior high school in Palembang on May 2017. Research method that used in this research is Quasi Experimental with research design of Non - equivalent Control Group Design . The population in this study consists of 4 classes totaling 101 students. Sampling is using purposive sampling technique . The sample of this study X.1 class as the experiment amounted to 26 students and X.2 class as the control class amounted to 24 students. In the learning process, experimental class is taught by using Role Playing learning model and control class is taught by discussion method. Data retrieval is using conceptualization test with essay form that has been tested for its validity and reliability. The results showed that the N-gain average experimental class is 0,71 are categorized as high and N-gain average for the control class 0, 50 including the medium category. Data analysis that is using t-test with significant level 0,05 obtained sig 0,000 <0,05 with t arithmetic = 5.638 while t table = 1.677 seen that t arithmetic > t table . Therefore (H a ) is accepted and (H 0 ) is rejected . Based on this, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the model of learning Role Playing on the mastery of the concept of human circulatory system for X class. Keywords: concept mastering, circulatory system, learning model, role playing

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of project based learning models to increase students’ creativity inwasterecycling products of class X. The sample of this research is students at class X. X.1as a experimental classwith 30 students and class X.2 asa control class with 30 students. Data obtained from the documentation, studentsactivity sheets, product creativity assessment sheets, and students creativity questionnaire. The data analysis usedis the result of prerequisite test data and hypothesis test which includes independent sample t- test and pairedsample t- test. The results show that Ha of both hypothesis tests are accepted. This means that Project BasedLearning model influences students' creativity in making waste recycling products at class X. Keywords :project based learning, student creativity increasing, waste recycling product
