Abstract

Fixtures and jigs are work-holding devices used to position and support workpieces. Fixtures and jigs are important tools in production because their use determines the performance of the entire production process of a product. There are still situations in the manufacturing sector where products manufactured could be more precise. Work-holding devices that facilitate the machining process must be developed to ensure that the final products satisfy the required criteria. This study aimed to design, manufacture, and evaluate fixtures and jigs and then assess how well they worked with test specimens in rectangular shapes. The jigs and fixtures are planned based on a vacuum table that is adjusted to the machining position on the side of the material. The intention of employing a vacuum system is to simplify the process of setting up the workpiece. Fusion360 Design Software was utilized to design fixtures and jig models. Since aluminum is easy to form and has high wear resistance, it was chosen as the workpiece material. CNC machine was employed in the manufacturing process. Testing of jig and fixture tools is carried out on the side of the test specimen. According to the study's findings, jigs and fixtures accelerate the milling process on the material side. When jigs and fixtures are used, the milling process proceeds 17.47 minutes. Using this jig and fixture makes it possible to shorten the operating time, making the milling process run more quickly. Furthermore, the final product has remarkable dimensional accuracy.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDesign for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) adalah metodologi yang diakui secara luas yang mengoptimalkan desain produk untuk mempercepat proses manufaktur dan perakitan. DFMA dapat menghasilkan penghematan biaya yang signifikan, peningkatan kualitas, dan mempersingkat waktu ke pasar dengan mempertimbangkan kemampuan manufaktur dan persyaratan perakitan sejak awal pengembangan produk. Dalam tinjauan mini ini, kita akan membahas prinsip dan manfaat utama DFMA dan penerapannya pada praktik manufaktur modern. Artikel ini juga menunjukkan penerapan metode DFMA pada Mesin Penghancur Limbah Fungsi Ganda untuk menganalisis kemampuan perakitan dan kemampuan manufakturnya. Dengan menerapkan metode DFMA, insinyur dan desainer dapat mengoptimalkan kemampuan manufaktur dan perakitan produk yang didesain ulang, menghasilkan peningkatan efisiensi, kualitas, dan kepuasan pelanggan. Ulasan ringkas ini berfungsi sebagai referensi untuk memahami konsep utama dan manfaat penggunaan metode DFMA dalam mendesain ulang produk. Dengan mengadopsi prinsip-prinsip DFMA, produsen dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan manufaktur dan efisiensi perakitan produk, meningkatkan daya saing pasar. ABSTRACT Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) is a widely recognized methodology that optimizes product design to expedite manufacturing and assembly processes. DFMA can result in significant cost savings, enhanced quality, and a shortened time-to-market by contemplating manufacturability and assembly requirements from the outset of product development. In this mini-review, we will discuss the DFMA's main principles and benefits and its applicability to modern manufacturing practices. This article also demonstrates the implementation of DFMA methods on a Dual-Function Waste Crushing Machine to analyze its assembly ability and manufacturability. By applying the DFMA method, engineers and designers can optimize the manufacturing capabilities and assembly of the redesigned products, resulting in improved efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. This concise review serves as a reference to understand the main concepts and benefits of using the DFMA method in redesigning products. By adopting DFMA principles, manufacturers can significantly improve manufacturing capabilities and product assembly efficiency, increasing market competitiveness.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri manufaktur sangatlah cepat. Salah satunya di bidang pengecoran logam dan permesinan lanjutan yang menerima pesanan dalam bentuk mass production. Salah satu produk komponen yang diproduksi adalah Suction Casing. Produk ini merupakan komponen bagian dari Cenrifugal Pump, Suction Casing merupakan rumahan untuk pompa untuk melindungi komponen di dalam pompa agar aman saat digunakan. Terdapat dua proses permesinan dalam produksi produk Suction Casing ini dan kedua proses ini dikerjakan di mesin yang berbeda. Untuk proses pertama dikerjakan di mesin CNC turning dan untuk proses kedua dikerjakan di mesin CNC milling dan proses kedua inilah yang penulis teliti lebih lanjut. Dalam pengerjaan produk suction casing ini diperlukan clamping system agar benda kerja tidak bergerak disaat cutting tool sedang memproses benda kerja tersebut. Pekerjaan ini sebenarnya masih bisa lebih efisien yaitu dengan cara menggunakan Jig and Fixture agar pengerjaan bisa lebih dari satu produk per proses permesinan. Untuk jig fixture suction casing ini dapat menghasilkan dua produk dalam waktu kurang dari 12 menit dan jika ditotal dalam satu shift bisa mendapatkan 192 pcs produk suction casing.

Abstract

The beverage industry is experiencing significant growth; however, the handling and management of can waste, particularly aluminum can waste, still rely on manual processes, such as stepping on or striking the can with a tool to reduce its volume. Therefore, there is a need for innovation to design and create a small-scale can pressing machine. The development of this machine employs the Ulrich method, which encompasses the identification of machine requirements, concept selection, and design embodiment. Based on the results obtained using the Ulrich method, design concept 2 was selected. Subsequently, planning, calculations, and analyses were conducted to identify the core and supporting components necessary for constructing the machine. The next stage involved creating detailed drawings of the machine, followed by fabrication and testing. During testing, the can pressing machine demonstrated the ability to exert a maximum load of 20,110.5 N, with a torque of 220.990 Nm and a power output of 0.5 HP (356.95 watts). The PZEM-004T microcontroller was utilized to monitor the operational control of the electric motor. The machine successfully reduced the volume of cans by 56.5%, decreasing their initial height from 345 mm to 150 mm, and it is capable of processing 75 cans per minute.

Abstract

Saat ini perkembangan teknologi sudah semakin maju. Kita dapat mengakses segala informasi dengan cepat dan tepat. Salah satu teknologi yang saat ini disoroti adalah smartphones. Produksi smartphones sudah dilakukan di Indonesia beberapa tahun terakhir ini salah satunya di PT SAT NUSAPERSADA yang ada di batam. Dalam proses produksinya masih banyak alat dan penunjang yang di impor dari luar, namun akhir akhir ini sudah ada beberapa penunjang produksi yang dikerjakan secara internal seperti jig, tray, modif mesin, dsb. Namun beberapa tray yang ada di perusahaan tersebut masih impor dari luar negeri dari negara distributor produk tersebut. Dengan adanya kasus peristiwa itu peneliti mengambil topik tugas akhir. Salah satu penunjang produksi adalah tray yang digunakan operator untuk mempermudah dan membantu pekerjaan operator agar lebih cepat dan mengindarkan produk dari cacat produksi. Perancangan mold ini akan dikerjakan dengan CAD modelling, CAM programming dan CNC machining. Material yang digunakan adalah plastic jenis HIPS dan proses pembentukanya melalui vacuum thermoplastic forming. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan bisa menjadi referensi bagi pihak kampus Politeknik Perkapalan Surabaya, pengembangan dan juga inovasi dalam teknologi CAD/CAM yang berguna bagi individu, pihak perusahaan yang bersangkutan, dan di dunia industri yang saat ini semakin maju dan berkembang begitu pesat.

Abstract

Dalam pengecoran logam memiliki bebrapa metode tersendiri, salah satunya adalah Sand casting. Salah satu pasir yang menghasilkan kualitas produk coran yang baik adalah jenis Resin Coated Sand, pasir ini memiliki kualitas pengikat yang baik sehingga tidak mudah hancur ataupun rusak ketika digunakan, karena memiliki pengikat maka pasir jenis ini harus lah dipanaskan terebih dahulu agar zat-zat pengikatnya bekerja dengan baik. Namun pada kenyataan dilapangan proses pemanasan ini masih dilakukan secara manual, tentunya dengan pemansan seperti tidak bisa menghasilkan produk cetakan yang maksimal, maka dibuatlah sebuah alat baru bernama universal resin coated sand mold maker. tentunya dengan adanya mesin baru ini belum bisa berjalan tanpa adanya pattern atau bisa disebut dengan pola, maka dari itu penulis mencoba merancang sebuah pola cetakan untuk mesin ini. Metode penyelesaian dari tugas akhir ini adalah dengan melakukan proses perencanaan dan perancangan yang diikuti dengan proses pengadaan alat dan bahan. Tahapan yang dilakukan adalah membuat cetakan dari logam kemudian pemasangan cetakan pada mesin universal resin coated sand mold maker, setelah pemasangan maka dilakukan uji coba pembuatan cetakan pasir, pada tahap ini menggunakan metode drag and coupe, tahap akhir dari proses adalah penuangan logam cair ke dalam cetakan. Pattern telah yang dibuat sesuai dengan kondisi mesin, dapat menghantarkan panas dengan baik dan dapat membuat cetakan sehingga menghasilkan produk yang diinginkan

Abstract

Industri pengecoran logam merupakan mother of industry yaitu produk logam dasar merupakan bahan baku utama bagi kegiatan sektor industri lain. Resin coated sand (RCS) merupakan salah satu jenis pasir yang digunakan dalam industri pengecoran yang memiliki karakteristik baik dalam hasil produk. Proses pencetakan moulding RCS terbilang masih menggunakan metode manual. Mesin yang digunakan untuk mencetak mould RCS menggunakan metode pemanasan yang kurang merata, sehingga menyebabkan defect atau cacat pada produk moulding. Perubahan sistem dan pemberian inovasi dari mesin yang sudah ada, diperlukan untuk mengurangi cacat dan meningkatkan kinerja serta efisiensi.Konsep reverse engineering dalam perancangan suatu produk pada dasarnya adalah menganalisa suatu produk yang sudah ada (dari produsen lain) sebagai dasar untuk merancang produk baru yang sejenis, dengan memperkecil kelemahan dan meningkatkan keunggulan produk para kompetitornya. Dengan metode reverse engineering pembuatan mesin dilakukan melalui tahap observasi, studi literatur, perhitungan, perancangan, fabrikasi, assembly, dan terakhir pengujian.Hasil perancangan mesin universal resin coated sand mould maker memiliki spesifikasiyaitu p 2000mm x l 740mm x t 1400mm, material profil ASTM A36, material poros S45C dengan diameter 25 mm, tekanan kerja ejeksi 4 – 6 bar. Waktu pemanasan pattern selama 15 menit dan pemanasan pasir 45 menit dengan rentang suhu 100oC – 250oC.

Three wheels cars has a minimalist concept that is comfortable and simple. By utilizing theprinciple of tilting trike system which makes access easier in all fields. Of course the car is designedto be comfortable and safe when driving. For that purpose this research is made plotting the rightengine placement to be safe and stay comfortable to drive. And this research is to find out how muchvibration generated by the engine is still safe for the rider or not by using vibration meter.

Abstract

The barge backhoe deck is planned to be modified to add length so that analysis is neededregarding the strength of the structure, considering that most coal loading and unloading processestake place on the backhoe deck, so the safety of the backhoe deck structure is very important. In thisstudy, we will find out how much stress occurs on the backhoe deck by using the Finite ElementMethod as the media of analysis.From the results of the simulation and analysis it is known that themaximum voltage that occurs when the backhoe is not operating is equal to 24 MPa, and when thebackhoe is operating that is equal to 27.43 MPa. The maximum deflection when the backhoe is notoperating is 60.99 mm, and when the backhoe is operating that is 68.6 mm. Factor of safety when thebackhoe is not operating is 9.6 and when the backhoe is operating is 8.5.Based on the simulation themaximum voltage value is still below the permit voltage in the manual calculation, namely 166 Mpa.The deflection value of the simulation results is also still below the maximum deflection value that ispermitted in the manual calculation of 70 mm. The factor of safety value according to BKI can beconcluded that the construction of the backhoe deck is declared safe in loading when the backhoe isnot operating or when the backhoe is operating because it meets the safety factor requirements thatthe safety factor value must be more than 1.

Abstract

The development of Indonesian and world manufacturing industries is currently growing very rapidly due to technological advances in various fields. As a result, consumers become more critical in choosing and determining a product or service to be used. Manufacturing company engaged in manufacturing plastic packaging in Ngoro, East Java. Complaints often occur from customers for products that often experience plastic connections that are not perfectly bonded and also the tools to carry out these tests have some disadvantages of efficient and safety levels for operators.The method used for making pressure testing equipment on 100ml garnier products with a pneumatic system to overcome these problems. The working system of this machine is to put pressure on 2 products simultaneously which will be set by selenoid valve 3/2 and the timer will automatically calculate which serves to calculate the holding time of the pressure. The process of making this machine with several stages, namely design, making drawing details, electro pneumatic system planning, fabrication and assembly stages. The results of this machine can fill optimally with a maximum pressure of 2 bars into both products in a single test with the appropriate pressure It is hoped that electrophorics will work for this testing machine
