Abstract

Twenty-first century education requires critical, creative, and solution-oriented thinking skills to address global issues such as environmental problems and the energy crisis. One approach that supports these skills is Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) integrated with the Engineering Design Process (EDP). This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of ESD-EDP–based teaching materials on the topic of alternative energy in senior high school physics learning. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, limited to the Analyze, Design, and Development stages. The Analyze stage included learning outcomes and student needs analysis, the Design stage produced the instructional framework, and the Development stage resulted in teaching materials validated by two subject matter experts, two media experts, and evaluated through the responses of 23 tenth-grade students. Validation results indicated very high feasibility with scores of 94% (content), 93% (presentation), 84% (language), and 92% (graphic design). Student responses averaged 88%, categorized as very good. Thus, ESD-EDP–based teaching materials are considered highly valid and feasible for senior high school physics learning on alternative energy topics.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are vital in the 21st Century to identify solutions to real-world problems like climate change. This research aims to test the effect of integrating the PBL (Problem-based Learning) Model with Digital Posters within the TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge) framework on the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in Samarinda on climate change. The research approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method involving two classes, an experimental and a control class. The treatment given to the experimental class was the PBL model with the help of digital posters, and the control class used the traditional lecture method. Data on students' critical thinking skills was collected using a test technique in the form of 10 essay questions. Data analysis techniques used quantitative descriptive and T-tests. The research results showed significant differences in the critical thinking skills of the experimental and control classes after each class was treated. Based on these findings, it recommends the need for similar adoption by teachers in teaching complex topics such as climate change. These results also show the importance of integrating technology in learning to support the development of student's critical thinking skills, especially in understanding complex topics.

Abstract

In the 21st-century learning era, the quality of teaching materials is crucial in meeting current educational needs. This study highlights the urgency of developing a science literacy-based textbook for the Earth and Space course to enhance students' scientific literacy competence in the Physics Education Study Program at Mulawarman University. The research aims to analyze the necessity of such a textbook using the 4D development model, focusing on the Define phase to identify key learning challenges and curriculum needs. Data were collected through classroom observations, student questionnaires involving 42 participants from the 2023 cohort, and the formulation of learning outcomes aligned with the three scientific literacy competencies of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA): (1) explaining scientific phenomena (2) evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and (3) interpreting data and scientific evidence. The data analysis process involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the current teaching materials do not fully support the learning objectives, leading students to rely on fragmented online resources, often in English. The study also identified a strong demand for structured, interactive textbooks integrating scientific literacy. The validation process involved three expert validators using a Likert scale assessment. This validation resulted in eight valid learning outcomes (CPMK) with a corrected item-total correlation of r > 0.3 and a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.848, confirming high reliability. These findings provide a foundational framework for developing an Earth and Space textbook, ensuring its alignment with science literacy competencies in subsequent research phases.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan sosialisasi ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya sertifikat halal dan memberikan wawasan dalam membangun bisnis kuliner halal bagi pelaku usaha di sekitar lingkungan kampus Universitas Mulawarman dan masyarakat umum yang berjiwa wirausaha. Metode yang digunakan meliputi beberapa langkah yaitu desain webinar, pemilihan narasumber, pengembangan materi, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi berupa kuisioner, dengan jumlah peserta 78 orang. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi ini bermanfaat di dalam menambah pemahaman mereka. Namun perlu ada langkah-langkah lanjutan untuk memastikan dampak berkelanjutan, seperti: tindak lanjut terhadap pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) yang terlibat diharapkan dapat memastikan implementasi panduan praktis Sertifikat Halal di dalam praktik bisnis mereka. Selain itu, perlu adanya upaya yang dilakukan untuk memperluas pemahaman bisnis kuliner halal kepada seluruh masyarakat, terutama konsumen Muslim di sekitar lingkungan kampus. Hal ini mencerminkan bahwa pembangunan ekosistem bisnis kuliner halal tidak hanya bergantung pada tim pengabdi, tetapi melibatkan kerjasama dari berbagai pihak, termasuk UMKM, pemerintah, lembaga sertifikasi halal, dan konsumen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterampilan Collaboration dan hasil belajar dari penerapan model pembelajaran Game-Based Learning menggunakan media digital QuizWhizzer. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 35 siswa pada kelas X MIPA 3. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik lembar observasi untuk mengetahui keterampilan Collaboration dan tes berupa 10 butir soal esai untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan Collaboration siswa meningkat dari 80,00% (cukup) pada pertemuan pertama menjadi 83,20% (baik) pada pertemuan kedua dan 84,00% (baik) pada pertemuan ketiga, sedangkan hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan signifikan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,059 > 0,05, uji Paired Sample T-test 0,000, dan nilai N-Gain 0,6238 kategori sedang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Game-Based Learning menggunakan media digital QuizWhizzer meningkatkan keterampilan Collaboration dan hasil belajar siswa SMA.
