Abstract

Seaweed grows in almost all waters of Indonesia, making it one of the important exporting countries in Asia. Indonesia's three main seaweed export commodities are Eucheuma cottonii, Gracillaria sp., and Gelidium sp. One significant seaweed cultivation center is Lontar Village. However, value-added downstream product activities still need to be developed there. The potential for drying seaweed in Lontar Village reaches 150,000 kg per month. Data analysis was performed using quantitative descriptive methods, including profitability analysis, B/C Ratio analysis, Break-Even Point analysis, and Payback Period over the past year with five harvest cycles. The prospective analysis results include aspects of seaweed drying processing techniques, financial elements, and marketing aspects. This study uses a case study method with key informants being the head and members of the seaweed processing group in Lontar Village. The data used are from five harvest cycles over the past year. The prospective analysis results show that the financial analysis of the seaweed processing business in Lontar Village indicates positive outcomes, such as positive profits, a B/C Ratio greater than 1, seaweed sales and production values exceeding the Break-Even Point, and a Payback Period of less than one year. Seaweed marketing in Lontar Village is conducted on a cash basis, with their main market being Java Island. Keywords: Prospective, Business, Processing, Seaweed.

Abstract

Purwakarta Regency has aquaculture production reaching 94.5 thousand tons only from KJA cultivation, making it the area with the highest aquaculture production in West Java. One that has high potential to produce abundant fish cultivation production is the Jatiluhur Reservoir. However, the abundant production of food fish cultivation in the Jatiluhur Reservoir will suffer losses if it is not accompanied by a fast and precise marketing process. This research was carried out in Jatiluhur Reservoir zone 1, Purwakarta District, Purwakarta Regency with research time from October 2023 to February 2024. The aim of this research is to analyze curiosity channel patterns, marketing costs, profits, margins, farmer's share, benefit cost ratio and marketing efficiency of consumption fish cultivated using the KJA cultivation system in Jatiluhur Reservoir zone 1. Sampling in this research used purposive sampling and snowball sampling methods, meanwhile data was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results of this research are that the marketing channels for consumption fish are divided into three with marketing channel III being the most efficient, marketing for carp is more efficient than tilapia and the marketing business for consumption fish can be said to be feasible because it has an average BCR value of >1.

Abstract

Abstract

The objective of processing catfish into shredded products is to increase consumption patterns and expand the marketing reach. To improve product quality, diversification, competitiveness, quality and efficiency, innovation is required. The addition of fibre to shredded catfish can enhance product quality while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The alternative fibre source used was kepok banana blossom, which has the potential to enhance the organoleptic characteristics of the product. The study implemented a completely randomised design with four treatment levels of banana heart addition (22.5%, 25%, 27.5%) with 20 replicates. The hedonic test include appearance, aroma, flavour, and texture. The optimal treatment was the addition of 25% banana heart, which achieved an appearance value of 6.9, aroma 6.9, flavour 7, and texture 6.7.

Abstract

Diversification of processed fisheries is very important to attract the interest of the Indonesian people who still have low consumption of fish. The addition of catfish meat flour to semprong cake is expected to increase the nutritional value and attract consumer attention. The aim of this research was to determine the level of addition of catfish meat flour to semprong cakes as the product most preferred by panelists based on hedonic quality which includes aspects of appearance, aroma, texture and taste. This research used an experimental method with four treatments adding catfish meat flour at 0%, 12.5%, 15% and 17.5%.  Data analysis using tests friedman, multiple comparison and Bayes. The results of the research showed that the level of addition of catfish meat flour of 15% was the most preferred addition in terms of appearance with a mean value of 8.7 (like), aroma 7.7 (like), and taste 7 (like), while the addition was 12%. was the most liked addition in terms of texture with a mean value of 7.2 (like).
