Abstract

Breastfeeding problems often faced by postpartum mothers are the release of breast milk in small amounts. Low breast milk production is a major problem for new mothers. The impact on babies who are not given breast milk is increased susceptibility to diseases such as ARI, diarrhea, coughs, colds, and will increase the number of morbidity and mortality in children. The solution that can be done in this problem is through pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of endorphin massage with lavender and lemongrass oils on breast milk production. The research method used in this study was quasi-experimental with two group pre-test and post-test. The number of samples for each group was 16 respondents with a total sample of 32 respondents. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. Bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test. Research Results: it is known that the Mann Whitney test shows a Pvalue of 0.010 <0.05 which means that there is a difference in the effectiveness of endorphin massage with lavender and lemongrass oils on breast milk production. The result of the mean rank is 12.25 and the endorphin massage with lemongrass is 20.75 so it can be concluded that the endorphin massage with lemongrass is more effective because the mean rank value is high.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Dementia significantly impacts elderly quality of life, necessitating innovative non-pharmacological approaches. This study aimed to identify key design elements for multisensory environments integrated with reminiscence therapy in Indonesian contexts. Methods: This qualitative study used an exploratory descriptive design through focus group discussions with 10 elderly participants, 2 family caregivers, and 5 healthcare professionals. Participants were selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria established for this research protocol. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke's six-phase thematic analysis framework to identify key patterns related to the development of multisensory environments. Results: This study revealed five main themes from a comprehensive data analysis of therapeutic environments for the Indonesian population. These themes are: 1) the importance of positive reminiscence triggers to effectively stimulate memory, 2) the personal space requirements for comfort and safety as essential environmental design considerations, 3) the need for multisensory integration as a critical component of therapeutic environmental interventions, 4) the vital role of family support and communication strategies in a comprehensive care approach, and 5) the relevance of cultural and spiritual considerations in design to provide contextual meaning. Conclusion: The development of Harmony multisensory spaces should integrate reminiscence therapy principles with personalized design elements, emphasizing safety parameters, comfort metrics, and cultural sensitivity to effectively improve the quality of life for elderly individuals with dementia. Implementation requires multidisciplinary collaboration between healthcare professionals, designers, and family caregivers to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Abstract

Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is a common disease that affects the community, particularly children and infants. Acute respiratory infections (ARI) that occur in children and infants are very dangerous because they can interfere with eating and sometimes lead to more serious lower respiratory tract infections if not treated properly. Acupressure and common cold massage are non-pharmacological methods of cough and cold treatment. A preliminary study was conducted in the working area of the Balapulang Health Center on September 7, 2021, and a total of 200 babies were obtained. Knowing the effectiveness of acupressure and common cold massage on the duration of cough and cold healing at the Balapulang Public Health Center. A quasi-experimental design with a two group posttest design with a sample size of 20 babies. There is a difference in the effectiveness of acupressure and common cold massage on the duration of cough and cold healing, as indicated by the mean rank values of the acupressure group of 14.05 and the common cold massage group of 6.95. Common cold massage is more effective than acupressure On the healing time of cough and cold in babies with a p-value of 0.005       Â
