Abstract

Four Season Jimbaran Hotel is one of the hotels in Bali using a cooling system which isusually called the water chiller. The electrical energy consumption in Four Season Hotel is oneof the factors that increase the use of electrical energy in which the star delta system is stillused to switch on the pump. Along with the electricity rate which keeps increasing every year, the electrical energy consumption in Four Season Hotel can increase the operational cost. It isconcluded that one of the largest electrical energy consumptions is water chiller pump. Chillerpump is a pump used for pushing water flow towards chiller condenser and Air Handling Unit(AHU) when the water chiller system is still active. Starters of the chiller pump used in FourSeason Jimbaran Hotel are inverter and star delta. The method used in conducting research was calculation of the electrical energy requirement and cost in two pumps set by star delta atan initial frequency of 50Hz in water chiller pump 160 TR, compared with inverter system withthe decrease of frequency by 5Hz (45Hz) in water chiller pump 230 TR. Monitoring wasperformed by analyzing the consumption of electrical energy (kWh), temperature (°C), andhumidity (%) in every pump set by every system. In these two pumps, energy consumption(kWh) and cost were compared in daily, weekly, and monthly needs. From the result ofresearch, in inverter system, the frequency reduction by 5Hz in water chiller pump 230 TR cansave electrical energy of 117,120 kWh and the cost of IDR 130,471,680 in the next five years. The comparison analysis of operation of the chiller pump supplied with star delta (fixed speeddrive) with an inverter (variable speed drive) has a difference energy consumption of 117,120kWh in both systems and the difference cost is Rp. 130,471,680.00 in next 5 years.

Abstract

The importance of monitoring the temperature of the motor bearing on the water circulation pump on a regular basis to prevent pump operation failures due to bearing. The operator monitors the temperature bearing manually using a Flir measuring instrument with potential hazards in the work area namely slipping, falling and electrocution. On this basis, IoT based bearing monitoring system for circulation water pump in real time is very necessary. The design of this prototype uses hardware such as ESP32 microcontroller and MLX90614-BCC sensor, while the software used are blynk and google spreadsheet. The MLX90614-BCC sensor calibration uses a linear regression method to adjust the sensor value to the Flir TG167 so as to minimize deviations in temperature readings. The results of this prototype are able to read temperature bearing well which are integrated with the blynk on smartphones by displaying temperature values in the form of numbers and graphs and also equipped with a notification. The prototype that was built had an average measurement deviation of 0.32% on the DE sensor and 0.3% on the NDE sensor. Storage of temperature data on google spreadsheet with the amount of data that can be stored as much as 1,666,666 data. The conclusion of the research is that it has succeeded in designing and manufacturing a prototype IoT based bearing monitoring system for circulation water pump. Testing the performance of the prototype can work well. The results of the prototype test on bearing for the water circulation pump showed that DE and NDE bearing temperatures were still below 55 °C and there was no notification on the smartphone which indicates the motor bearing is still in normal condition.

Abstract

As technology advances, the use of electrical energy increases for this reason, energy conversion is needed, one of which is the installation of photovoltaic. Analysis hosting capacity on the distribution network serves to determine the flow of power when photovoltaic is installed and can analyze voltage, conductor loading, power loss, and good transformer loading when connected to the network. The analysis of hosting capacity on rooftop PV mini-grid spread over the distribution network is very useful for future planning if there is a massive energy transition that is implemented on rooftop PV mini-grid. The hosting capacity analysis on the distribution network was carried out in 2 scenarios, which were Scenario A for the Bangli feeder without being connected to the PLTS 1 MWp and Scenario B for the parameter B for the Bangli feeder being connected with the PLTS 1 MWp. The analyzed parameters included voltage, conductor loading, transformer loading and power losses in network. The results of the analysis showed that the distribution network hosting capacity is 40%, for both Scenario A and Scenario B.

Abstract

Development to new renewable energy still lower than Indonesia's target of 23% in 2025. For this reason, alternative solutions are needed, namely the use of renewable energy, one of which is from the solar energy sector, namely solar PV. Solar energy has the highest potential compared to other renewable energy sectors of 207.9 GW. Based on that, in 2020 the Province of Bali received a Rooftop Solar PV grant through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, one of which is located at the Bali Provincial DPRD Government Office with an installed power of 25 kWp using the On Grid system. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct a detailed study of the potential, operational systems, savings and the proper management model of Rooftop Solar PV at the Bali Provincial DPRD Office. The potential of Solar PV electricity production on the roof of the Bali Provincial DPRD Office was analyzed by simulating the orientation and tilt angle of the Solar PV to get the optimum Solar PV electrical energy production results using HelioScope software. The results showed that the results of electrical energy production in the simulations of the two scenarios tended to be higher with the total difference in scenario 1 and scenario 2 being 21.75% and 19.66%, respectively. For savings that can be obtained for 6 months of Rp. 36,055,301 with a percentage of 22.60%. The PLTS management model in the future is located in the general section, precisely in the Sub Coordinator of the Equipment, Assets and Household Substance Unit.

Abstract

The availability of renewable energy in various sectors certainly needs to be improved, one of which is Solar Power Plant or PV. The province of Bali has a Solar Power Plant (PV) development target of 108 MW by 2025. The Solar Power Plant target has been stated in the RUEN (National Energy General Plan) policy. Efforts made by the Province of Bali to support and to realize the RUEN target are in the Bali Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 45 of 2019 concerning "Clean Energy Bali". One of the areas in Bali that can be developed as a PV development is Nusa Dua area. In this area, the integration of conventional grid systems and renewable energy (PV Rooftop) can be carried out. In this journal, the author proposes several scenarios that are expected to be considered in planning the integration of a 20 kV grid system with renewable energy power plants. Some of these ideas are the integration of 25%, 50%, and 100% of PLTS capacity in meeting electrical energy needs. The purpose of the scenario is to find out the direction of the flow supplied by the PV, and to know whether the grid will remain stable or not if disturbance occurs.

Abstract

The need for electrical energy increases every year. That is linear with the economic growth that happens in the area. Bali is an area where the demand for electrical energy has increased significantly throughout the year. The increase in electrical energy demands will cause the power peak load to increase as well. It's necessary to develop a 150 kV transmission system to anticipate peak load from reaching the breakdown point of the transmission system. Based on this study, the transmission line from Kapal Substation to Pemecutan Klod Substation experienced 80.1% of the maximum load capacity of the line in 2029. It means that the load flow has exceeded the ideal loading of the transmission line, which is 80% of its maximum capacity. Uprating the conductor from TACSR 240 mm2 to ACCC Lisbon 310 mm2 and adding a new circuit line, will help the transmission line sustainable until 2046 before reaching 100% of its maximum capacity.

Abstract

Indonesia have potential sunshine over year, it makes indoensia has a large source of renewable energy. However, renewable energy usage is very low. One of the renewable energy is solar power plants (PLTS). Medan City is one of the highly populated cities and it makes Medan city very limited land to build PLTS, and the solution is to build rooftop PLTS. Therefore, this research discusses the planning of PLTS on the roof of the Manna Helvetai Indonesian Methodist Church Building. The design of this PLTS is simulated using the Helioscope simulator. Solar modules are installed as many as 35 pieces and have 1 inverter with a capacity of 20 kW and produce potential energy of 15.8 kWp. Based on the results of the rooftop solar power plant design and the results of the calculation of electrical energy production, it can be analyzed that the economic development of rooftop solar power plants is considered feasible because it meets the criteria of Net Present Value (NPV) greater than zero, namely Rp 44,638,904 and Benefit-Cost Ratio (B-CR) greater than one, namely 1.19 and Discounted Payback Period (DPP) which is reached at the life of the solar power plant.
