This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The data analysis technique used is content analysis technique. The data used comes from the GARUDA databases. The results of the article search obtained a total of 7 selected articles after filtering. The results of this study show that the descriptive qualitative approach is widely used in research on children's reading interest, namely as many as 6 articles, while quantitative research is only 1 article. Furthermore, this study shows that there are 5 roles of parents in fostering interest in reading in children, namely parents as educators, organizers, inspirers, facilitators and motivators. Factors that influence the effectiveness of parents' role in fostering children's interest in reading are the use of gadgets, mood, environment, and parents' time availability.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) provides significant opportunities for innovation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning media, particularly in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (SKI). This article aims to analyze and conceptually develop AI-based PAI learning media integrated with the SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition) model and aligned with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review method, which examines various national and international research results regarding AI integration, the SAMR model, and PAI learning innovation. The study results indicate that the application of AI in SKI learning, such as the use of educational chatbots, automated videos based on historical texts, and augmented reality simulations, can increase student participation, understanding, and creativity. The integration of the SAMR model facilitates a shift from using technology as an aid to a transformational learning tool. At the Redefinition level , AI is able to redefine the learning experience by enabling students to interact virtually with the context of Islamic history. The application of AI in SKI learning is also in line with the spirit of the Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes flexibility, contextual learning, and the development of teachers' digital competencies. Thus, AI-based learning media has the potential to be a strategic solution in improving the quality of Islamic Education learning in an adaptive, creative, and future-oriented manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) learning model through the Wordwall platform in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning at SMP Negeri 35 Surabaya. The background of this study stems from the low level of student engagement in IRE learning due to the dominance of conventional methods and the suboptimal integration of technology in the learning process. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with the research subjects consisting of PAI teachers and seventh-grade students. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and field notes, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results show that the application of the TPACK model through Wordwall successfully increased student engagement and motivation to learn. Careful planning, the use of Wordwall's interactive features (such as quizzes, matching games, and random wheels), and collaborative pedagogical strategies created an active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning atmosphere. Despite challenges such as time constraints, digital infrastructure, and variations in students' technological literacy, teachers were able to overcome them through adaptive strategies such as hybrid learning, group role rotation, and collaborative reflection. This study confirms that integrating the TPACK model through Wordwall can be an innovative strategy for transforming PAI learning into interactive, contextual learning that is in line with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Limited allocation of time for Islamic Religious Education (IRE) or in Indonesia we called Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) in public schools is a systemic problem that creates a significant gap between the demands of a comprehensive curriculum and the reality of the available learning time, thus requiring the development of adaptive and innovative strategies to optimize the achievement of learning objectives. This study aims to critically analyze strategies for overcoming the limitations of IRE hours in public schools and to analyze the implementation of the Kultum Kamisan program as a strategy in overcoming the limitations of IRE learning time allocation at SMP Negeri 16 Surabaya. This study has a novelty and uniquely positions of Kultum Kamisan as a program compensation for limited PAI hours, bridging regulatory constraints with comprehensive Islamic education needs. This study uses a qualitative method with a field research approach through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, as well as applying the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana triangulation technique to obtain optimal data validity in analyzing solutions to the limitations of IRE learning time allocation at SMP Negeri 16 Surabaya. The results of the study reveal that Kultum Kamisan can be used as an innovative strategy to overcome the limitations of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning time allocation. This program not only serves as a supplement to learning time but also as a transformative pedagogical innovation that integrates the strengthening of religious values, character development, and communication skills and self-confidence of students through participatory learning experiences.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Arabic loanwords into Indonesian madrasah education through a mixed-methods analysis. With 2,000-3,000 documented Arabic loanwords in the Indonesian lexicon, these borrowings offer unique pedagogical potential. The research employed a convergent parallel Design with 147 students and 15 teachers across six Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Surabaya, utilizing questionnaires, interviews, and textbook analysis. Content analysis identified 412 Arabic loanwords across grades 7-9 textbooks (18.7% of the vocabulary corpus), with religious vocabulary at 62%, everyday vocabulary at 34%, grammatical terms at 16%, and environmental vocabulary at 12%. Student recognition patterns showed religious vocabulary highest (88%), followed by everyday (65%), grammatical (48%), and abstract vocabulary (37%). Overall, 78% reported enhanced learning confidence and 84% improved comprehension, with strong multimedia preference (90%). However, 15% experienced semantic confusion when Indonesian meanings diverged from Arabic contexts. Teachers universally recognized the pedagogical value of loanwords, employing comparative linguistic analysis, multimedia integration, and contextual reinforcement strategies. Challenges included semantic drift (50%), grammatical complexity regarding gender distinctions (37.5%), and time constraints. The study recommends enhanced contrastive linguistic analysis in teacher preparation, etymology-based supplementary modules, and standardized loanword pedagogy approaches for Indonesian madrasah contexts.

Abstract

Interfaith harmony is an important foundation for social cohesion in a pluralistic society, but it does not always occur naturally and requires a planned educational strategy. This study aims to analyze the construction of harmony through a local wisdom-based curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah Bali Bina Insani (MA BBI), a madrasah located in a Muslim minority context in Tabanan Regency, Bali. The research focuses on how local wisdom values are systematically integrated into the curriculum and educational practices to build interfaith harmony. This study used a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight key informants, including madrasah principals, Muslim and non-Muslim teachers, and community leaders; participant observation of the learning process and socio-religious activities; and documentation of curriculum documents and institutional policies. Data were analyzed using an inductive-interactive analysis model. The results show that MA BBI actively integrates Balinese local wisdom into its learning materials, inclusive pedagogical approaches, and institutional policies, thus creating an educational climate that supports tolerance, mutual respect, and social harmony. The curriculum serves not only as an academic tool but also as a social instrument in building harmony amidst religious diversity. The novelty of this research lies in its emphasis on the madrasah curriculum as a medium for fostering harmony among minority communities. This study confirms that developing a curriculum grounded in local wisdom is a powerful educational strategy for building social harmony in pluralistic societies and recommends further research across diverse socio-cultural contexts.
