Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efek antiinflamasi dari ekstrak n-butanol dan etil asetat daun petai cina (Leucaena leucocephala (Lamk.) de Wit) berdasarkan penurunan volume radang pada telapak kaki mencit jantan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 24 ekor hewan uji dibagi menjadi 8 kelompok. Kelompok 1 sebagai kontrol negatif, kelompok 2 diberi suspensi natrium diklofenak sebagai pembanding, kelompok 3 diberi ekstrak etil asetat 0,5%, kelompok 4 diberi ekstrak etil asetat 1%, kelompok 5 diberi ekstrak etil asetat 1,5%, kelompok 6 diberi ekstrak n-butanol 0,5%, kelompok 7 diberi ekstrak n-butanol 1% dan kelompok 8 diberi ekstrak n-butanol 1,5%. Induksi dilakukan dengan menyuntikkan 0,05 ml karagen 1% b/v secara subkutan pada telapak kaki mencit. Setelah 1 jam setiap kelompok diberi sediaan uji peroral sebanyak 1 ml/30gBB. Pengukuran volume radang dilakukan pada menit 0, 30, 60, 90, dan 120. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak n-butanol dan etil asetat daun petai cina dapat menurunkan volume radang pada telapak kaki mencit. Ekstrak n-butanol memberikan efek antiinflamasi pada konsentrasi 0,5% sedangkan ekstrak etil asetat pada konsentrasi 0,5 % dan 1 % yang tidak berbeda bermakna terhadap natrium diklofenak.

Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation. The research animed to determine the effect of n-butanol extract of Leucaena leucocephala leaves and the effective dose as antirheumatoid arthritis. It used 15 male rats divided into 5 groups: group I (negative control) was given Na-CMC; group II (positive control) was given a suspension of Methylprednisolone; group III, IV dan V were give the extraxt with doses of 83,3 mg/kgBW, 166,6 mg/kgBW and 333,2 mg/kgBW. The treatment was started by inducing Complete Freund`s Adjuvant intraplantary of 0,1 mL and let it remain until day 16. The therapy was conduction for 14 days orally and the foot volume measurements and observation of the arthritis index were performed on day 17 and 31st. The data analyzed using One Way Anova showed the differences among the groups (p 0,05) and continued with LSD test. The measurement of arthritis index using Kruskal-Wallis showed the differences between groups (p 0,05) proceeded to Mann-Whitney test. In conclusion, the n-butanol extract of Leucaena leucocephala  leaves had the effect as antirheumatoid

Abstract

Johar (Cassia siamea Lamk.) leaves widely used as a traditional medicine. Johar leaves contain chemical compounds such us alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, sitosterol and barakol which have effect of treatment for several diseases including inflammatory. This study aims to determine anti-inflammatory effect of chloroform fraction C.siamea leaves. This study was conducted using 15 Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups: control group who were given suspension of Na.CMC 1% w / v, the comparison group were given diclofenac sodium suspension 0.35 mg / kg, the test group dose of 75 mg / kg, the test group dose of 150 mg / kg and a test group of 300 mg / kg. Evaluation of anti-inflammatory activity was done by measured initial volume of the foot all test animal then given the drug orally according to dosage of its group. After 30 minutes, each group made inflammatory by induced karagen 1% 0.1 mL by intraplatar. Furthermore, inflammation’s degrees was measured every hour for 8 hours. The results obtained show that after 2 hours, inflammatory of the control group Na.CMC had increased much higher compared to the other groups. This is shows that Na.CMC doesn’t have effects anti-inflammation. The comparison group diclofenac sodium gave the best inhibitory effect that have been shown from an increase volume of feet smaller than the test group chloroform fraction of Johar leaves. While in chloroform fraction of Johar leaves test group, group with dosage 75 mg/kg gave an inhibitory effect better than the other test group dosage.

Abstract

The research concerning antimitotic assay of ”Buah Merah” (Pandanus conoideus Lam) ethanol extract using sea urchin Tripneustes gratilla Linn eggs cleavage inhibition method had been conducted. The aim of this study was to determine the antimitotic  effect of buahMerah ethanol extract in to inhibit cell cleavage of fertilized sea urchin eggs. Buah Merah ethanol extract was made in to 5 concentration there was 0,001 µg/ml, 0,01 µg/ml, 0,1 µg/ml, 1 µg/ml and 10 µg/ml with vincristine as the compared. Quantivication of cell cleavage was performed visually under the light microscopy by counting the number of cleaveaged and non cleaveaged embryos after an incubation time of  ± 2 hours. If 80-100% inhibition of cleavage (IC80-100) occurs at ≤ 16 mg/ml, the compound is considered to be active as antimitotic. The result of this research showed that IC80 value of ”BuahMerah” ethanol extract was 0,026 mg/ml. According to the value ethanol extract was categorized active as antimitotic, although their potency lower than vincristin which can inhibit 80 % of fertilized sea urchin eggs at 2,789x10-4 mg/ml.Key words: Pandanus conoideus Lam, Antimitotic, Tripneustes gratilla Linn.

Abstract

Has been on concerning test of activity radical scavenging of soursop leaves (Annonamuricata Linn.) extract of dietileter with DPPH method. This research aimed to know the level activity of free radical based on binding of DPPH free radicals of Soursop leaves (Annonamuricata Linn.).Extraction of soursop leaves (Annonamuricata Linn.) by macerate with methanol, methanol extract then is partition with dietileter.Than measured of quantitative by five concentration  50 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm and 400 ppm, the result of measured have done  with statistical method of regretion simple linier with average value of IC50 are 4980,4 ppm.  This potency explainextract activity is still very lowers than vitamin C and BHT with value of IC50 are 10,304 mg/ml dan 43,394 ppm.  Key Words :DPPH, Radical scavenging, Annonamuricata Linn.

Abstract

Antimitotic assay is one of the toxicity assay methods widely used in detection of cytotoxic activity of new compounds from natural materials. This research aimed to examine the effects of antimitotic and determine the IC50 and IC80 values of the ethanol extract of purple leaves with method of fertilized egg cell division inhibition Tripneustes gratilla L. The cell observation were visually carried out under a microscope by counting the number of cells that divided and did not divide after being incubated for ± 2 hours. The results  of this research showed that the IC50 and IC80 value of ethanol extract of purple leaves are 2,275 x 10-2 µg/ml and 1,54x10-2 mg / ml respectively. Based on the values, the ethanol extract of purple leaves is active as an antimitotic, despite the potential values can be lower than vincristine which can inhibit 80% egg cell Tripneustes gratilla L. fertilized with IC50 and IC80 values of 1,462 x 10-4  µg/ml  and 4.69x10-5 mg/ml.

Abstract

This research about antiinflammation effect from n-hexane extract of Beruwas Laut leaves (Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.) Roxb.) in male mice (Mus musculus) was conducted, the aim was assay the antiinflammation effect of Beruwas Laut leaves done extract based on decrease in edema volume of foot palm male mice. This research using 15 male mice that evaluated and divided into 5 groups that each group has 3 mice. In group I, diclofenac sodium as the compare administrated. In groups II, III, dan IV,  n-hexane Extract of Beruwas Laut leaves in concentration of 2,5%, 5% and 7,5% administrated. In group V, 1% Na-CMC as negative control administrated. Induction carried out by injection 1% w/v carrageen 0,1 ml subcutan on the feet palm of mice. One hour later each group administered the preparation test 1 ml/30 gBW orally. The measurement of edema volume carried out prior and after administration of the tested preparation 0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. The data correlation between induction and antiinflammation effect analysed. Result indicated variety with n-hexane extract of Beruwas Laut leaves have the antiinflammation effect at concentration 7,5%. Key Word : Antiinflammation, Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.) Abstract

Research of effect toksisitas of n-heksan faction of the beruwas laut (Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.)Roxb.) leaf at prawn larva of Artemia salina Leach have been done as a mean to determine potency of toksisitas and value of LC­­­50 beruwas laut (Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.)Roxb.) leaf. As control used n-heksan. Before treatment, prawn egg of Artemia salina Leach incubated at some stage and after 48 hours prawn larva of Artemia salina Leach are ready to given treatment. Hereinafter n-heksan faction of beruwas laut (Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.)Roxb.) leaf with concentration 0,1 ; 1 ; 10 ; 100 µg/ml in sea water enhanced 10 prawn larvas. For control, done same treatment. Perception done after 24 hours treatment by counting dead prawn larva. Result of perception indicate that value of LC50 n-heksan faction of beruwas laut (Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.)Roxb.) leaf 4,17 ± 2,59 µg/ml. So that can be expressed that n-heksan faction of beruwas laut (Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.)Roxb.) leaf have potency as anticancer, this matter is based by standard of Meyer (1982) expressing that a natural materials compound have potency of anticancer if value of LC50 <1000 µg/ml.   Key word : Toksisitas Test, Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.)Roxb, Brine Shrimp Lethality Test

Abstract

Masyarakat luas kurang meminati teh herbal karena kurangnya pengetahuan terutama tentang khasiatnya, cara pengolahan yang tepat, adanya aroma dan rasa pahit atau hambar (tidak berasa) yang biasa muncul dari teh herbal serta kemasan yang kurang praktis dan menarik. Kegiatan pengabdiaan bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat terkait pembuatan teh celup kemasan dari tanaman herbal yang memiliki cita rasa aroma yang nikmat. Pada kegiatan pengabdiaan ini, dilakukan metode yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan teh herbal pada anggota kelompok pembinaan kesejahteraan keluarga (PKK) dengan membuat teh herbal kombinasi daun pegagan (Centella asiatica) dan kayu secang (Caesalpinia sappan L) dengan penambahan pemanis daun stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) serta evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdiaan ini menujukkan tingkat pengetahuan peserta meningkat dari tingkat pengetahuan kurang (46,66 %) menjadi tingkat pengetahuan baik (80%). ini berdasarkan pertanyaan yang diberikan kepada peserta kegiatan. mengenai khasiat,cara yang tepat dalam proses pemetikan, pengolahan tanaman herbal menjadi simplisia hingga cara pembuatan teh herbal dalam bentuk kemasan teh celup yang sebelumnya mereka belum ketahui dengan baik.
