Abstract

Batik kayu merupakan warisan luhur bangsa Indonesia, namun batik kayu Krebet yang dihasilkan kurang berkembang dan tidak mengikuti tren perubahan selera konsumen. Oleh karena itu, tim pengabdi Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta melakukan pelatihan motif dan bentuk perkakas modern bagi pengrajin batik Kayu Krebet. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Participation action research (PAR) yang dilakukan di Joglo Semar Desa Wisata Krebet. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 peserta pelatihan. Tahapan pengabdian ini terdiri dari Observasi dan wawancara pendahuluan, sosialiasi, pelatihan dan penerapan teknologi, serta pendampingan dan evaluasi. Sedangkan kegiatan pelatihan di lapangan terdiri atas pembukaan, pemaparan materi, praktik membatik, tanya jawab, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan temuan di lapangan, peserta pelatihan antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan. Peserta pelatihan aktif dalam kegiatan diskusi maupun praktik membatik. Hal ini dikarenakan pengabdi memperkenalkan batik kayu yang fungsional serta adanya inovasi desain, motif, dan fungsi baru. Pada awalnya batik kayu yang dihasilkan hanya berbentuk motif batik tradisional diubah menjadi motif organis dan non organis (geometris) dengan perwarnaan monokromatik.

Abstract

Collaboration skills, critical thinking skills, and learning achievement are important for every student to have. However, the results of the researcher's observation in class VII D SMP N 4 Depok showed that collaboration skills, critical thinking, and science learning achievement were still low. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the improvement of collaboration skills, critical thinking skills, and learning achievement of students in class VII D SMP N 4 Depok after learning the Discovery Learning model with TarL approach on Earth and Solar System material. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) model of Kemmis & Mc Taggart with two cycles consisting of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The subjects in this study were students of class VII D SMP N 4 Depok. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Data analysis of questionnaire and test results used descriptive statistics and n-gain test. The results obtained showed that there was an increase in cycle 1 to cycle 2 in the medium category, namely 1) collaboration skills with N Gain 0.413; 2) critical thinking skills with N Gain 0.413. Critical thinking ability with N Gain 0.474; 3) Learning achievement with N Gain 0.532. Thus, the application of Discovery Learning with TarL Approach is effective to improve collaboration skills, critical thinking skills, and learning achievement.

Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to find out:  (1) the effectiveness of using mini solar panel props with guided inquiry models to improve students' science literacy, (2) whether there is a difference in the average score of significant improvement in students' science literacy before and after the implementation of mini solar panel props with guided inquiry models, (3) how much the effect size of using mini solar panel props with guided inquiry models to improve students' science literacy.Methodology – This is a pre-experimental study that used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study population included all students in class VIII of a junior high school in Yogyakarta. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the sample, which included 31 students from class VIII B. The instrument used was a science literacy test, while data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics.Findings – The results of the analysis concluded that 1) mini solar panel props with guided inquiry models effectively improve students' science literacy by 0.55 in the medium category, 2) there is a difference in the average score of significant improvement in students' science literacy before and after the implementation of mini solar panel props with guided inquiry models, 3) the implementation of mini solar panel props with guided inquiry models provides an effect size of 2.19 with a huge category on improving science literacy.Contribution - These findings are expected to improve science education by integrating mini solar panel props with guided inquiry models, making science learning more interesting, practical, and relevant to real-world applications.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze junior high school students’ collaboration skills in ecology learning through the use of Lumi-based interactive videos. Collaboration is recognized as a critical 21st-century skill that needs to be cultivated in science education. The research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design, involving no control group or pre-test. The participants were 20 seventh-grade students from MTsN 1 Majene, selected through convenience sampling. The intervention was conducted over two class meetings using a 12-minute interactive video integrated with digital worksheets (LKPD). Data were collected using a collaboration skills questionnaire and a behavioral observation sheet. The results revealed that students’ collaboration ability was in the “High” category, with an average score of 78.75. The shared responsibility indicator showed strong consistency between self-assessment and observation (2.82% difference), while the flexibility indicator exhibited signs of overestimation (5% gap), and the diversity indicator showed a notable disparity between self-perception and actual behavior (6.25% gap). These findings indicate that Lumi interactive video media effectively supports the development of collaboration skills and highlight the need for differentiated instruction. The study offers practical insights into integrating digital literacy with collaborative pedagogy, in alignment with the Pancasila Student Profile framework

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cognitive learning outcomes of students before and after using PBL student worksheets assisted by PhET Simulations on simple aircraft material. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 32 students of class VIII H at SMPN X Yogyakarta in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 school year which was determined by purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a multiple choice test of 15 items that measured cognitive learning outcomes based on Bloom's cognitive taxonomy levels C2, C3, C4. The results showed a significant increase in the cognitive learning outcomes of students before and after using PBL student worksheets assisted by PhET Simulations on simple aircraft material. The pretest average score of 61.97 increased to 84.41 on the posttest, exceeding the minimum completeness criteria. The normality test shows that the data is normally distributed. The paired sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The effect size value of 1.73 is in the large category, indicating a strong influence of the treatment on students' cognitive learning outcomes

Abstract

Science literacy is a must have ability for students in the 21st century and cultural awareness is needed so that students can selectively choose outside cultures. However, in Indonesia science literacy and cultural awareness are low. This study aims to determine the profile of science literacy and cultural awareness of students and the need for STEAM-PBL-based local potential integrated science teaching materials. This research is a descriptive research. The research sample amounted to 93 junior high school students in 3 Sumenep District schools selected by purposive random sampling technique. Data collection used tests to measure science literacy, questionnaires to determine cultural awareness and need STEAM-PBL-based local potential “petis” integrated science teaching materials. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed; 80.65% of students were in the low category and 19.35% were in the medium category, the lowest student ability was to explain phenomena scientifically; 88.17% of students' cultural awareness was in the low category and 11.83% of students were in the medium category. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that students' science literacy and cultural awareness are low and it is necessary to develop teaching materials integrated with the local potential of STEAM-PBL-based petis.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are crucial in the modern era, so they become essential in increasing power competitiveness and adaptability. Research This aims to develop a virtual laboratory-integrated STEM-PBL worksheet. This research employs the research and development methodology using a 4D model. The validators consist of 4 media experts, content experts, and two practitioners. The readability test used 10 students selected from class VII by purposive sampling based on academic ability. This research shows that the STEM-PBL worksheet integrated with the virtual laboratory can increase students' problem-solving skills. Validation results show that all worksheet aspects are categorized as high with Aiken's Index value between 0.83-1.00. The practicality test of the worksheet obtained very practical category with a range value of 90-95% in all Implementation aspects of the worksheet, shows improving students' problem-solving skills with an overall N-gain of 0.51 (medium category), where improvement occurred in the solution implementation indicator (N-gain 0.70) and the lowest in solution evaluation" (N-gain 0.25). The effectiveness of the worksheet is proven through the Wilcoxon signed rank test, which shows a significant difference in students' problem-solving skills before and after treatment (p0.05)

Abstract

ABSTRACTScience education continues to face challenges such as the dominance of lecture-based methods and the lack of engaging learning media, which lower students’ motivation and participation. This program aimed to empower science teachers in Bantul Regency to create virtual tour–based learning media using the Lumi H5P platform with ethno-science content, enhancing the relevance and attractiveness of science learning. The offline training took place at SMP Negeri 1 Bantul on August 6, 2025, involving 30 science teachers from the MGMP IPA Bantul Regency. The methods included lectures, demonstrations, guided practice, and interactive discussions. The participants showed high enthusiasm, though most had not yet developed media products independently. Based on satisfaction surveys, the average score was 3.73 out of 4, categorized as good to very good. Participants found the material relevant to integrating digital technology and local cultural values into science education. Overall, the program improved teachers’ understanding of virtual reality, introduced Lumi H5P, and encouraged ethnoscience-based contextual learning, laying the foundation for innovative, culturally rooted science education.Keywords: Interactive Media, Lumi H5P, Teacher Training, Virtual Tour.ABSTRAKPembelajaran IPA masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti penyajiannya didominasi metode ceramah dan minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran menarik. Kondisi ini menyebabkan rendahnya motivasi serta keterlibatan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan guru-guru IPA Kabupaten Bantul dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis virtual tour menggunakan platform Lumi H5P bermuatan etnosains, sehingga mampu meningkatkan relevansi dan daya tarik pembelajaran IPA. Pelatihan dilaksanakan secara luring di SMPNegeri 1 Bantul pada tanggal 6 Agustus 2025 dengan 30 guru IPA anggota MGMP IPA SMP Kabupaten Bantul. Metode kegiatan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik terbimbing, serta diskusi interaktif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dalam mengikuti pelatihan, meskipun belum menghasilkan produk media secara mandiri. Berdasarkan hasil instrumen kepuasan peserta, diperoleh rata-rata skor sebesar 3,73 dari skala 4, yang termasuk kategori baik menuju sangat baik. Peserta menilai materi pelatihan relevan dengan kebutuhan mereka dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi digital dan nilai-nilai budaya lokal dalam pembelajaran IPA. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman guru tentang konsep dasar virtual reality, pengenalan aplikasi Lumi H5P, serta peluang penerapan etnosains dalam pembelajaran kontekstual. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal bagi guru IPA untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran inovatif berbasis teknologi terbuka, sekaligus memperkuat karakter pembelajaran sains yang berakar pada budaya lokal.Kata Kunci: Media Interaktif, Lumi H5P, Virtual Tour, Pelatihan Guru.

Abstract

The integration of science literacy in the independent curriculum has not been optimally implemented and remains limited, failing to address contextual aspects relevant to everyday life. This study aims to enhance science literacy through a culturally responsive learning approach, supported by student worksheets. The development method employed was a mixed-methods approach, incorporating data collection through interviews, observations, and science literacy tests, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results showed that there was an effect on improving students' science literacy with an N-Gain value of 0.52 which showed an increase in science literacy skills, and a paired sample T-Test value of 0.00 <0.05 which showed that there was an effect of the approach on science literacy and the effect size test showed a significant effect with a value of 1.99, so it can be concluded that the application of culturally responsive teaching-based student worksheets effectively improves science literacy on vibration and wave material for junior high school science subjects.

Abstract

One of the important skills in the 21st century is critical thinking skills, as educational objectives focus on development to face the challenges of the world of education. This study aims to analyze the impact of using virtual reality in electronic worksheets with discovery learning on critical thinking skills of junior high school students. This research is an experimental research with a quantitative approach using Quasi-Experiment. The research design used Nonequivalent Control Group Design with two sample classes totaling 32 experimental and 32 control class students. Data collection on the level of critical thinking skills is seen from the results of pretest and posttest essays of 6 items on solar system material on 6 aspects of critical thinking skills i.e. analysis, evaluation, interpretation, inference, explanation, and metacognition. Data analysis was carried out Independent Sample T-Test test and effect size test. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the critical thinking skills of junior high school students who use virtual reality in electronic worksheets with discovery learning and the use of virtual reality in electronic worksheets with discovery learning on students' critical thinking skills has a very strong influence.
