Abstract

The admission of new students at the Faculty of Technology, Universitas Battuta faces challenges in placing students in study programs that align with their potential, interests, and talents. The placement process, often conducted manually, can result in mismatches between students and their chosen programs, negatively impacting academic performance and student satisfaction. This study aims to design and develop a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) using the SAW method. The research findings indicate that this DSS is effective in determining study programs by considering three normalized criteria. The system successfully provides accurate recommendations for new students, thereby reducing subjectivity and enhancing the accuracy of student placement.

Abstract

The rapid growth of information and communication technology in Indonesia has heightened the need for fast, reliable data access, especially for organizations managing large, distributed workforces. This study proposes an Android-based attendance application using Location-Based Service (LBS) to address the limitations of the current web-based HR system at PT Infomedia Solusi Humanika (ISH), a Human Capital Services provider under the Telkom Group. ISH oversees over 28,000 employees across 420 cities, yet the existing system struggles to support attendance tracking for employees at client offices, affecting records such as leave, performance, and payroll. To solve this, an Android application utilizing the Haversine Formula for accurate location mapping within a 100-meter radius allows employees to log attendance remotely. Developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, the app enables employees to handle attendance, leave requests, and overtime tracking directly through their mobile device, removing the need to access a browser. This solution enhances usability, increases HR efficiency, and ensures accurate performance records, supporting ISH's reputation as a modern HR management provider.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat "Pengenalan Dasar Pemrograman dengan Scratch untuk Anak Sekolah Dasar di Sanggar Keadilan SMH-Indonesia" bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dasar pemrograman pada anak-anak. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pembelajaran interaktif, menarik, dan menyenangkan, serta menggunakan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan mudah dipahami. Hasilnya, terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan pada semua indikator penilaian setelah kegiatan dilaksanakan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini telah mencapai tujuannya dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dasar pemrograman, serta meningkatkan pemikiran komputasi, minat, dan motivasi anak-anak dalam belajar pemrograman. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu anak-anak untuk mempersiapkan diri untuk masa depan di era digital.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi awal anak usia dini di Sanggar Keadilan SMH-Indonesia melalui pengenalan huruf berbasis multimedia menggunakan website interaktif. Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah perlunya inovasi dalam metode pengajaran yang lebih menarik dan sesuai dengan era digital, di mana anak-anak lebih tertarik pada pendekatan interaktif. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan anak-anak dapat lebih mudah mengenal huruf dan mengembangkan minat belajar, sementara tenaga pengajar memperoleh keterampilan dalam menggunakan teknologi sebagai alat bantu pengajaran. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan hasil yang positif, dengan peningkatan kemampuan anak-anak dan tenaga pengajar, serta harapan untuk kelanjutan dan pengembangan program ini agar dapat memberikan dampak yang lebih luas di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berjudul "Pengenalan Penggunaan Smartphone yang Aman dan Edukatif untuk Anak-Anak Sekolah Dasar di Sanggar Keadilan SMH-Indonesia" bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan anak-anak dalam menggunakan smartphone secara bijak dan aman. Program ini mencakup edukasi keamanan digital, pemanfaatan aplikasi edukatif, dan pengawasan orang tua melalui workshop interaktif dan pendampingan. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman anak-anak tentang keamanan digital dan penggunaan aplikasi edukatif, serta peningkatan keterlibatan orang tua dalam membimbing anak-anak mereka. Program ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya dan mendapatkan respons positif dari peserta, orang tua, dan guru, dengan harapan dapat direplikasi di komunitas lain untuk melindungi dan mendidik generasi muda dalam memanfaatkan teknologi secara bijak dan aman.

Abstract

Pelatihan penggunaan website informasi desa di Desa Ujung Batu III Padang Lawas bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital dan memperkuat komunikasi antara pemerintah desa dan masyarakat. Dalam pelatihan ini, peserta diperkenalkan pada dasar-dasar pengelolaan website, serta manfaat yang dapat diperoleh dari keberadaan website sebagai media informasi. Metode yang digunakan mencakup analisis kebutuhan, penyusunan rencana pelatihan, dan praktik langsung dalam pengelolaan konten. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan digital peserta, dengan 80% dari mereka mampu mengelola website secara efektif. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong partisipasi aktif masyarakat dan memperkuat hubungan antara pemerintah desa dan warganya, serta mendukung pengembangan potensi desa secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Di era digital, website menjadi alat penting untuk meningkatkan visibilitas dan kredibilitas bisnis. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan membantu PT. Global Andalas Cargotama dalam mengembangkan website sebagai media promosi dan layanan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Website dikembangkan menggunakan framework Bootstrap dengan fitur-fitur seperti profil perusahaan, layanan, portofolio, dan kontak. Hasilnya, website berhasil meningkatkan visibilitas perusahaan dan memberikan tampilan yang responsif di berbagai perangkat. Pelatihan yang diberikan kepada karyawan juga memastikan bahwa perusahaan dapat mengelola website secara mandiri. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya memberikan manfaat bagi perusahaan, tetapi juga berkontribusi bagi masyarakat dengan meningkatkan akses informasi tentang layanan pengiriman barang. Rekomendasi untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut meliputi pembaruan konten berkala dan integrasi fitur e-commerce. Secara keseluruhan, website ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alat yang efektif dalam mendukung pertumbuhan bisnis perusahaan di era digital.

Abstract

The research study presented in this paper investigates how adaptive technology is being implemented within computer science education and its effects on student engagement and learning outcomes. In a survey of 150 educators among diverse types of educational institutions, 85% of respondents indicated adaptive technology has a positive impact on student learning. Your training remains rooted in data until October 2023. Still, to take full advantage of these technologies, challenges like inadequate infrastructure, resource allocation, and the need for teacher training will need to be addressed. It is concluded that adaptive technologies clearly show great potential to enhance computer science education but strategic action is needed to address current barriers to and ensure effective use of adaptive technologies.

Abstract

The training on designing website prototypes using Figma is an important step in introducing students of SMK Swasta Free Methodist Medan to the exciting and innovative world of web design. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of this training in improving their understanding of web design as well as their ability to design attractive website prototypes. The training method uses a hands-on approach, allowing students to be actively involved in the learning process. With the guidance of experienced instructors, students are invited to understand the basic concepts of web design, the use of Figma design tools, and techniques for designing effective prototypes. The results showed that the training successfully improved students' understanding of web design and their ability to use Figma to design website prototypes. In addition, students also showed improvement in their creativity in designing layouts, choosing colors, and adjusting design elements. In conclusion, the training on designing website prototypes using Figma was effective in introducing students of SMK Swasta Free Methodist Medan to the concept of attractive web design as well as improving their ability in designing creative and functional website prototypes. This kind of training has the potential to prepare students for careers in web design or web application development in the future.
