Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the determinants influencing aggressive behavior among cadets at the Banten Maritime Polytechnic. Maritime education, with its semi-military nature, demands high discipline and mental preparedness, but in practice often creates psychological stress that can impact student behavior. Using a qualitative approach through a case study method, data was collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)-based survey. The results indicate five main factors influencing aggressive behavior among cadets: stress, self-concept, emotional management, family background, and the dormitory environment. Of these five factors, stress is the most dominant factor. This study concludes that aggressive behavior is not solely caused by individual factors but also reflects social dynamics and an education system that is not fully responsive to the psychological needs of cadets. Comprehensive interventions are needed, including counseling services, stress and emotion management training, and improvements to the social environment on campus and in the dormitory to create a healthier and more supportive educational atmosphere.

Abstract

Keselamatan pelayaran menuntut kesiapan awak kapal serta keandalan peralatan keselamatan, khususnya sekoci sebagai sarana evakuasi utama dalam keadaan darurat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peran awak kapal dan sistem perawatan sekoci terhadap efektivitas pelaksanaan latihan keadaan darurat (drill) di atas kapal KMP Portlink III. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung, wawancara tidak terstruktur dengan awak kapal, serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas drill belum optimal, yang ditandai oleh keterlambatan respons awak kapal terhadap alarm darurat, pemahaman tugas yang belum merata, serta lemahnya koordinasi saat proses evakuasi. Selain itu, sistem perawatan sekoci belum dilaksanakan secara konsisten sesuai dengan standar keselamatan pelayaran, terlihat dari kondisi teknis sekoci dan peralatannya yang tidak sepenuhnya siap dioperasikan. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada kegagalan pelaksanaan launching sekoci saat latihan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa efektivitas drill sangat dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi awak kapal dan penerapan sistem perawatan yang terencana dan berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peningkatan disiplin latihan, pembagian tugas yang jelas, serta penguatan sistem perawatan sekoci untuk mendukung kesiapsiagaan darurat di atas kapal. Maritime safety requires not only reliable safety equipment but also competent and well-prepared crew members, particularly regarding lifeboats as primary means of evacuation in emergency situations. This study aims to evaluate the role of crew members and the lifeboat maintenance system on the effectiveness of emergency drills conducted on board KMP Portlink III. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through direct observation, unstructured interviews with ship personnel, and documentation review. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of emergency drills has not been fully achieved, as reflected in delayed crew responses to emergency alarms, uneven understanding of assigned duties, and limited coordination during evacuation procedures. In addition, the lifeboat maintenance system has not been consistently implemented in accordance with maritime safety standards, as evidenced by technical deficiencies in lifeboat components and supporting equipment. These conditions contributed to the failure of lifeboat launching during drills. The study highlights that effective emergency drills are strongly influenced by crew competence and the implementation of a systematic and continuous maintenance system. Therefore, strengthening routine training, clarifying task allocation, and improving lifeboat maintenance practices are essential to enhance emergency preparedness on board.

Abstract

Mesin jangkar (anchor windlass) merupakan peralatan vital dalam mendukung keselamatan dan kelancaran proses berlabuh kapal. Kegagalan fungsi mesin jangkar dapat menimbulkan keterlambatan operasional dan meningkatkan risiko kecelakaan pelayaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan perawatan mesin jangkar serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keandalan operasional mesin jangkar pada kapal MV. Trifosa. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung di atas kapal, wawancara dengan awak kapal, serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perawatan mesin jangkar belum dilaksanakan secara optimal, yang ditandai dengan kurangnya pelumasan berkala, keterbatasan suku cadang dan pelumas khusus, serta belum terstrukturnya sistem perawatan terencana. Selain itu, perbedaan tingkat kompetensi teknis awak kapal turut memengaruhi kualitas perawatan yang dilakukan. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan perawatan bersifat reaktif dan berpotensi menurunkan keandalan mesin jangkar saat digunakan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan Planned Maintenance System (PMS) secara konsisten, peningkatan kompetensi awak kapal melalui pelatihan teknis berkelanjutan, serta penguatan koordinasi antara departemen dek dan mesin. Optimalisasi perawatan ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan keandalan mesin jangkar, meminimalkan gangguan operasional, dan mendukung keselamatan pelayaran. The anchor windlass is a critical piece of ship machinery that plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient anchoring operations. Failure of this equipment may lead to operational delays and increased maritime safety risks. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of anchor windlass maintenance and to identify factors affecting its operational reliability on board MV. Trifosa. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through direct onboard observation, crew interviews, and documentation review. The findings indicate that anchor windlass maintenance has not been optimally implemented, as evidenced by insufficient routine lubrication, limited availability of spare parts and specialized lubricants, and the absence of a structured planned maintenance system. Variations in crew technical competence also contribute to inconsistent maintenance practices. These conditions result in reactive maintenance, which may reduce equipment reliability during anchoring operations. This study recommends the consistent implementation of a Planned Maintenance System (PMS), continuous technical training for crew members, and improved coordination between deck and engine departments. Such maintenance optimization is expected to enhance anchor windlass reliability, minimize operational disruptions, and improve overall maritime safety.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas digitalisasi proses impor yang diterapkan oleh Direktorat Jenderal Bea dan Cukai (DJBC) dalam memperkuat pengawasan terhadap peredaran rokok ilegal di Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan memanfaatkan data sekunder yang bersumber dari laporan resmi DJBC, publikasi pemerintah, serta dokumen kebijakan terkait digitalisasi kepabeanan dan penindakan barang kena cukai. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan komparatif dengan membandingkan kinerja pengawasan sebelum dan setelah penerapan sistem digital kepabeanan, seperti Customs-Excise Information System and Automation (CEISA), electronic seal (e-seal), Auto Gate System, serta teknologi pemindaian berbasis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi proses impor terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan akurasi pengawasan, efisiensi administrasi, serta kualitas penindakan terhadap rokok ilegal. Hal ini tercermin dari peningkatan signifikan jumlah rokok ilegal yang disita, meskipun jumlah penindakan secara kuantitas mengalami penurunan, yang mengindikasikan peningkatan kualitas dan ketepatan sasaran pengawasan. Selain itu, digitalisasi berkontribusi pada peningkatan transparansi layanan kepabeanan dan penguatan sinergi lintas instansi. Namun demikian, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi tantangan berupa keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi dan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, yang masih perlu ditingkatkan untuk memastikan keberlanjutan efektivitas sistem digital kepabeanan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan akademik dan kebijakan dalam pengembangan sistem kepabeanan berbasis digital guna memperkuat pengawasan barang kena cukai dan melindungi penerimaan negara. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of import process digitalization implemented by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGCE) in strengthening the supervision of illegal cigarette distribution in Indonesia. The research adopts a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from official DGCE reports, government publications, and policy documents related to customs digitalization and excisable goods enforcement. Data analysis is conducted through descriptive and comparative methods by examining supervisory performance before and after the implementation of digital customs systems, including the Customs-Excise Information System and Automation (CEISA), electronic seals (e-seal), Auto Gate Systems, and data-based scanning technologies. The findings indicate that import process digitalization has proven effective in enhancing monitoring accuracy, administrative efficiency, and the quality of enforcement against illegal cigarettes. This effectiveness is reflected in a significant increase in the volume of seized illegal cigarettes, despite a decrease in the number of enforcement actions, suggesting improved targeting and enforcement precision. Furthermore, digitalization contributes to greater transparency in customs services and stronger inter-agency coordination. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly related to technological infrastructure limitations and human resource capacity, which require further improvement to ensure the sustainable effectiveness of digital customs systems. This study is expected to serve as an academic and policy reference for advancing digital-based customs systems to strengthen excisable goods supervision and safeguard state revenue.

Abstract

The shipping industry relies heavily on efficient crewing management to ensure safe vessel operations and compliance with national and international regulations. In Indonesia, crewing management faces persistent challenges, including complex documentation procedures, manual data processing, high administrative workloads, and limited integration between human resource systems and operational platforms. With the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, maritime companies increasingly explore AI-based solutions to optimize decision-making, automate routine processes, and enhance overall crew management performance. This study conducts a systematic literature review to analyze the potential, limitations, and implementation models of AI within the context of crewing management systems (CMS). The result shows that AI significantly improves crew scheduling accuracy, reduces administrative workload by up to 40%, enhances regulatory compliance monitoring, and supports predictive analytics for crew performance and turnover. The study concludes that AI-enabled CMS could transform Indonesia’s shipping operations, although challenges remain in terms of digital readiness, data quality, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks. Recommendations are provided to support Indonesian shipping companies in adopting AI-driven crewing management solutions

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has driven significant transformation in the field of education, particularly through the utilization of digital technology as a learning medium. Digital literacy has become an essential competence for students to effectively absorb, comprehend, evaluate, and create information in a critical and responsible manner. Along with the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep learning technology offers new opportunities to strengthen adaptive and innovative learning processes. This study aims to analyze the contribution of deep learning in enhancing students’ digital literacy, particularly in aspects of information absorption, information creation, evaluation skills, and the promotion of learning creativity. This research employs a qualitative approach using a documentation study method. Data were collected from scientific journals, academic books, reports from educational institutions, and relevant policies. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to examine the relationship between digital literacy and the application of deep learning in education. The findings indicate that deep learning can assist students in filtering relevant information, producing creative digital content, receiving accurate automated feedback, and developing creativity and innovation in learning. Nevertheless, the implementation of this technology still faces challenges, including teacher readiness, limited infrastructure, and data security issues. The integration of deep learning in education requires policy support, enhancement of teachers’ digital literacy, and the development of a safe and inclusive learning ecosystem.
