Abstract

Every child has the right to a proper education, including slow learners. Slow learners are students who experience delays in learning. The condition of students who experience learning delays causes low student achievement and difficulty understanding the material. Learning strategies are needed to help slow learners catch up. The research aims to describe the teacher's strategy for teaching slow-learning students with low grades. This type of research is qualitative research with a case study method. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Jemirahan with the participants being two grade 1 teachers. In this study, data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that teachers applied various strategies for slow-learning students in the form of material reduction, question modification, additional study hours, and seating rotation to student motivation. The results showed that the role of teachers with the application of appropriate learning strategies for slow learners had a significant impact, namely students' willingness to learn increased slowly.

Abstract

This research aims to encourage the development of students through the application of digital-based learning media, considering that most educators still pay little attention to the use of media as learning tools in the digital era. The focus of this study is to investigate the improvement of students' descriptive writing skills through the use of digital pop-up book media. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research population consisted of fifth-grade elementary school students, with a sample of 26 students from Class V A. The researcher used a writing skills assessment rubric that included aspects of content, organization, grammar, style, spelling, and punctuation. The data collection technique employed pretest and posttest questions, and the data analysis utilized a paired t-test. The results showed a positive influence of using digital pop-up book media on the descriptive writing skills of elementary school students. This was proven by the t-test results, which showed a sig. value. (2-tailed) of 0.000 0.05 means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In other words, the use of digital pop-up book media has a significant effect on the descriptive writing skills of grade V A students at SDN Sumorame. Therefore, digital pop-up book media can be an innovative tool in elementary school learning and has the potential to be further developed according to students' needs.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization and technological development, the world of education has entered a period known as the 5.0 era, where technology is not only a tool but also an integral part of human life, including the learning process. In the world of education, technology should be utilized to improve the quality of learning. Quality learning will make it easier for students to achieve their learning objectives. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the influence of digital comics on the short story writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Gedangan. The method used was a quantitative experiment, one group pretest-posttest design, with a sample size of 15 students. Data analysis was performed using a t-test, and the results showed a sig. value (2-tailed) of 0.000 in the one-sample t-test. The sig. value of 0.000 is less than 0.05, meaning that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of digital comic media in teaching short story writing skills to fifth-grade students at SDN Gedangan has improved their skills. The results obtained after conducting the study indicate that digital media tailored to students' needs can serve as a new innovation in classroom learning and foster creative ideas among students.

Abstract

This article reports on a community service program aimed at enhancing English teachers' creativity and digital literacy through the integration of digital storytelling. Conducted in collaboration with MGMP Sidoarjo, the program involved 51 senior high school English teachers who participated in a hands-on workshop using Canva to create digital storytelling materials aligned with their instructional goals. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining observation, surveys, and qualitative feedback to evaluate teacher engagement, product quality, and classroom implementation. Findings indicate a notable improvement in teachers' confidence and competence in utilizing digital tools, with all participants successfully producing at least one digital storytelling product. Although time constraints limited full implementation in some classrooms, student responses were overwhelmingly positive, citing increased motivation and engagement due to the visually rich content. Teachers also reflected positively on the training's impact, highlighting its practical value in modernizing English language instruction. The program underscores the importance of supporting teacher development through creative and technology-enhanced pedagogical strategies. It is recommended that schools foster a culture of innovation and that MGMP sustain the momentum through long-term mentoring and experimentation with varied digital learning media in response to evolving educational demands.
