Aims: This study aims to determine the implications and effects of using Flipbook media on the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Winong 1 in Indonesian language subjects. Methods: This study used a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through tests and documentation and analyzed using eta squared, normality, and t-tests with SPSS 26. Results: The study found that flipbook media has a positive implication for students' reading comprehension skills and leads to increased student activity during the learning process. This is evidenced by an increase in student learning outcomes, with post-test scores showing an intensification compared to the low pre-test scores. Novelty: This study differs from previous research by specifically using digital flipbook media to measure its effect on reading comprehension skills in a high-grade Indonesian language class, a topic not explored in earlier studies. Implications: The use of digital flipbook media is effective in improving reading comprehension skills. Highlights : The study used a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design on 35 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Winong 1. After the application of digital flipbook media, the average pre-test score of 40.0% increased significantly to an average post-test score of 82.2%. Abstract

This research aims to encourage the development of students through the application of digital-based learning media, considering that most educators still pay little attention to the use of media as learning tools in the digital era. The focus of this study is to investigate the improvement of students' descriptive writing skills through the use of digital pop-up book media. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research population consisted of fifth-grade elementary school students, with a sample of 26 students from Class V A. The researcher used a writing skills assessment rubric that included aspects of content, organization, grammar, style, spelling, and punctuation. The data collection technique employed pretest and posttest questions, and the data analysis utilized a paired t-test. The results showed a positive influence of using digital pop-up book media on the descriptive writing skills of elementary school students. This was proven by the t-test results, which showed a sig. value. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In other words, the use of digital pop-up book media has a significant effect on the descriptive writing skills of grade V A students at SDN Sumorame. Therefore, digital pop-up book media can be an innovative tool in elementary school learning and has the potential to be further developed according to students' needs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using e-comic media on elementary school students’ skills in writing procedural texts. The background of this research is the students’ low ability in writing procedural texts and the limited variety of innovative media used by teachers. The study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest model. The sample consisted of 30 fourth-grade students from SDN Gamping 1. Data were collected through written tests and classroom observation, with writing performance evaluated based on content relevance, grammar, structure, spelling, and sentence formation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired samples t-test with SPSS. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ writing skills. The average score increased from 57.92 in the pretest to 76.46 in the posttest, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05), indicating the effectiveness of e-comic media in enhancing students’ procedural text writing abilities. In conclusion, e-comic media fostered students’ motivation and understanding through visual storytelling and contextual learning. These findings suggest that e-comics can serve as an engaging and effective alternative to traditional instructional methods in elementary writing education.
