Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of comic strip media on the ability to write stories for third-grade students at a private Islamic school in Porong. This research uses quantitative research. sampling with non-probability techniques to obtain 1 class, namely class III, following the data taken by the researchers. The data collection technique used the test method to find out the results of writing essays using a pre-test and post-test to find out how much influence the use of comic strip media had on the ability to write essays. In this study, the pre-experimental design was used with the one-group pretest-posttest design. The population that became the object of this research was 20 third-grade students of a private Islamic school in Porong. Based on data analysis using the N-Gain formula, it shows that the average result of the pre-test is 67.7, and the average result of the post-test score is 85.55. Based on data processing from the Eta Squared test, it was 0.871 in the pre-test and 0.882 in the post-test. If t 0.14 indicates that this comic strip medium has a significant influence, the results of the paired sample pre-test sig. (2-tailed) in the study are.000, then the decision-making is following the t-test. If the value of sig. (2-tailed) is below 0.05, then there is an increase or a very significant effect on the research variables. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of comic strip media on the ability to write stories by third-grade students greatly affects their writing ability of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe students' responses to the use of animated videos in listening to fairy tales for class II at SDN Bringinbendo 2, Taman District, Sidoarjo Regency. The researcher confirms that research on using animated video media in learning Indonesian on students' listening skills can be interested and active, So. Teachers must use media in order to students don't feel bored and easily understand, therefore when learning teachers don't only use the lecture method.Teachers must also be innovative in using media to be used during learning so that it can be in accordance with the desired learning, and students can also maximize learning, students are easy teachers who still tell fairy tales without using other media except thematic books that contain fairy tales "Ingenuity Grows Kindness” by reading it directly to students, and the teacher did not have time to make media because there was a lot of work. This has often been used so that students feel bored and mediocre in learning fairy tales. There are some students who do not listen because students feel bored and less interesting. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a total of 10 students participating. This type of research uses case studies. This data collection by observation, questionnaires and interviews. Data collection techniques in this study used technical triangulation, data analysis used data reduction, data forms and conclusions. The findings show that animated videos are very suitable for listening to fairy tales because they make it easier for students to remember stories, knowing the story's message and animated videos make students more active, interested and enthusiastic. This media is very helpful for them in listening to fairy tales, and in this animated video there are animated images that can move and have sound.

Abstract

Students' difficulties in using good and correct Indonesian became the inspiration for this research. This can be seen from the use of incorrect words, weak phrases, and typos when writing simple narrative essays. The purpose of this research is to find out how the use of photovoice media has an impact on the writing ability of third grade elementary school children. One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was used in conducting this research as an experimental research approach. Twenty third grade students at SDN Krembung 1 were included in the research sample which was taken through saturated sampling. Writing skills assessment (before and after the test) and activity documentation were used as the data collection approach, together with observation as the main source of information. The data were examined using the normality test, and a Paired Sample T-Test was performed because the data were found to be regularly distributed. The findings of the Paired Sample T-Test show that Sig. (2-Tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. It can be determined that the use of photovoice media has a major impact on the writing skills of grade 3 students at SDN Krembung 1.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the proficiency of teachers in the northern coastal region of East Java in the area of digital literacy. The researchers employed a qualitative research methodology, specifically utilising a phenomenological study design. Elementary school instructors are the target audience for studying digital literacy.  The findings of this study concerning the digital literacy of primary school educators are highly favourable.  The study found that there are eight indicators of digital literacy for teachers. These indicators include proficiency in operating digital media, creativity in digital spaces, collaboration in digital space, effective communication, information search and selection skills, critical thinking and content evaluation abilities, alignment of social and cultural understanding with digital spaces, and implementation of internet security measures.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and apply the picture and picture learning model in Indonesian class 3 learning at SDN Gununggangsir II. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological type. At the stage of data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The process of checking the validity of the data using the data analysis method according to Soejdono which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that the picture and picture learning model is a learning model that can foster student enthusiasm and create an active, efficient, effective and fun learning process. This learning model is a learning model that is preferred by students, especially grade 3 students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Big Book media on the early reading skills of second grade students of SD Hafidz Al Qur'an Porong. This research uses quantitative research. The method used is a pre-experimental design method with a research design of One Group Pretest -Posttest . The sample in this study was the second grade students of SD Hafidz Al Qur'an Porong, totaling 18 students using a saturated sample. The data collection in this study used a test (Pretest and Posttest ) on initial reading skills. The results showed that there was an effect of Big Book media on the reading skills of second grade students of SD Hafidz Al Qur'an. This is evidenced by the results of the calculation of the hypothesis test with a level of a = 0.05 or 5% meaning 0.000 <0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So that learning using Big Book media will show differences, it can be shown that there is an effect of Big Book media on early reading skills of second grade students of SD Hafidz Al Qur'an Porong. The magnitude of the effect in this study was calculated using the eta squared test and obtained the results of 1.04 > 0.14 which indicated the criteria for a large influence. So it can be concluded that the Big Book media has a big influence on the reading skills of elementary school students in grade II

Abstract

This quantitative descriptive research investigates the intensity of online gaming among Grade V students at SD Negeri 4 Bandungrejo, Bantur District, Malang Regency, aiming to assess its relationship with students' disciplinary character. Data was collected using questionnaires and documentation from a sample of 8 students, and analyzed through descriptive statistical methods. The findings reveal a negative and insignificant correlation between online gaming and students' disciplinary character, indicating that online gaming might not significantly influence their discipline. This study provides valuable insights for educators, parents, and policymakers on understanding and addressing potential challenges related to online gaming and its impact on students' behavior. Highlights: Importance of Disciplinary Character: This research focuses on assessing the disciplinary character of Grade V students in relation to their engagement in online gaming, shedding light on its significance for their overall development. Quantitative Descriptive Approach: The study employs a quantitative research design to provide an overview of the intensity of online gaming among Grade V students, allowing for objective data analysis and inference. Correlational Analysis: By utilizing a correlative model, the research examines the relationship between online gaming and students' discipline, presenting insights into any potential connections or lack thereof. Abstract

This research encourages student development through digital-based learning media, where most educators pay little attention to the application of media as a learning tool in the digital era. This study aims to determine the improvement of descriptive writing skills by using the application of digital big book media. The research method used was the quantitative one-group pre-test-post-test method. The population of this study were students of class IV B. The sample used in this study amounted to 21 students. Researchers used a descriptive writing skills assessment rubric that contained: Content, organization, grammar, style, spelling, and punctuation. The data collection technique used pre-test and post-test questions. The data analysis technique used paired t-tests. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of digital big-book media on the descriptive writing skills of elementary school students. This can be seen from the results of the t-test with a sign (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, it can be said that Ho is rejected while Ha is accepted, meaning that digital big book media on descriptive writing skills has a positive effect on descriptive writing skills of elementary school students in class IV B SDN Karangjati III. Thus, digital big book media can be an innovation in learning in elementary schools and can be developed again with the needs of students, so that later it can foster students' creative ideas.

Abstract

Every child has the right to a proper education, including slow learners. Slow learners are students who experience delays in learning. The condition of students who experience learning delays causes low student achievement and difficulty understanding the material. Learning strategies are needed to help slow learners catch up. The research aims to describe the teacher's strategy for teaching slow-learning students with low grades. This type of research is qualitative research with a case study method. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Jemirahan with the participants being two grade 1 teachers. In this study, data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that teachers applied various strategies for slow-learning students in the form of material reduction, question modification, additional study hours, and seating rotation to student motivation. The results showed that the role of teachers with the application of appropriate learning strategies for slow learners had a significant impact, namely students' willingness to learn increased slowly.

Abstract

This article aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the "Go to Mier" and "Reading Corner" programs in improving student literacy progress at SD Muhammadiyah 3 Wage. By using a combination of observation methods, and interviews. Data were obtained from student participation in both programs. Data analysis revealed that the "Go to Mier" program successfully increased students' access to reading materials and broadened their reading interest. . On the other hand, the "Reading Corner" creates an environment that stimulates students' reading interest in school. These findings have important implications for SD Muhammadiyah 3 Wage and other schools in the development of effective literacy programs. Recommendations for future program improvements include increasing the book collection, counseling, and training to school staff. For the implementation of the program in other schools, adaptation to the local context, active involvement of students, And cooperation with external parties is highly recommended. Thus, these measures are expected to make a significant contribution in improving student literacy and creating a stimulating learning environment in schools.
