Abstract

Drinking water is water that has gone through a processing process or without any processing that meets the requirements and can be directly drunk. The fulfillment of drinking water needs in Langgam Subdistrict, Pelalawan Regency comes from bottled water, drilled wells, tap water, river water, springs and rainwater, of which the quality and quantity of these sources are not guaranteed. The need for drinking water in Langgam District is calculated based on population projections for the next 20 years with raw water coming from the river using three methods and the Least Square Method chosen. From the calculation of the prediction, the population in Langgam District in 2038 will reach 65,719 people, where in the planning, all residents will be served drinking water with a house connection type. The total average water requirement in Langgam District is 180.31 L / second, the maximum water requirement is 138.6 L / second and the peak hour water requirement is 188.9 L / second. Abstract

Biochar can increase soil C levels and can increase plant growth by supplying a number of nutrients to improve soil physical and biological properties. The raw material for making biochar is Empty Palm Bunches (EFB). EFB are rich in lignocellulose (cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin). Biochar was made using a pyrolysis device at 400oC for 2 hours and flowed with 100 ml/minute N2 gas. Biochar from EFB in this study has met the requirements for activated carbon based on SNI 06-3730-1995, with a water content of 1,45%. Keywords: Biochar, Empty Palm Bunches (EFB), water content

Abstract

Activated carbon materials with highly developed surface area are widely use dinnumerous fields, such as the separation and purification of liquids and gases in many areas of human and industrial applications, protection from toxic substances, solvent recovery and decolorizing, catalyst support, supercapacitors, electrodes, gas storage processes and biomedical engineering. This study aims to utilize rubberwood as raw material for making activated carbon. Activated carbon was prepared by carbonization process at 500°C for 1 hours using 10% ZnCl2 activator and sieving with a filter size of 200 mesh. The activated carbon product is then tested using proximate analysis. The results of the proximate analysis show that activated carbon has met SNI 06-3730-1995 with a ash content of 8,2%. Abstract

HR. Soebrantas street is classified as a secondary arterial road that used to accommodate high traffic capacity. Traffic activity at this street will affect the amount of CO emissions generated from the vehicles. The purpose of this study is to comparing the estimate data the distribution of carbon monoxide (CO) emissions emitted from vehicles crossing HR. Soebrantas with ambient air quality standard based on Government Rule No. 41/1999. The method used is measuring the wind speed, exhaust height, traffic counting the vehicles and estimated by Gaussian Line Source. The results of this study show that the CO concentrations from the Gaussian model on Wednesday has exceeded the quality standard. Keywords : Carbon Monoxide, Gaussian Line Source, HR. Abstract

Biochar has a large surface area, and a high capacity to absorb heavy metals and can potentially be used to reduce bioavailability and leach of heavy metals as well as organic pollutants in the soil through adsorption. This study aims to determine the effect of adding biochar from rice husks to removal of heavy metals Cd in contaminated soil. Biochar is made using a pyrolysis apparatus with a burning temperature of 500oC for 1 hour. The dose variation used in this study was 10% ; 12.5% ; and 15% with 30 days incubation periods. The results showed that the highest Cd removal occurred at the addition of a 15% dose of biochar, so that the concentration of heavy metal Cd became 10.85 mg/kg with a removal efficiency of 45.45%. Abstract

The population growth of Pekanbaru City that increased in every year is the main factor of the increasing waste that enters the MSWD 2 Muara Fajar, Pekanbaru City. The garbage piled up in landfills will have a process named degradation to produce methane gas (CH4). This gas contributes to the global warming phenomenon but has the potential to be used as alternative energy. The purpose of this study to estimate the methane gas emissions from landfilling activities at MSWD 2 Muara Fajar with the LandGEM ver 3.02 software, and analyzes the potential energy that can be generated from methane gas. Based on the estimation results of LandGEM ver 3.02, total of methane gas emmisions from MSWD 2 Muara Fajar reached the peak in 2049 with values are 23.110 Mg/year or 34.630.000 m3/year. The total level of CO2-eq emissions from MSWD 2 Muara Fajar Pekanbaru City during the operation to closing (20182048) are 8,780,688 MgCO2-eq. The total daily electricity power that can be produce from the methane are 1,322,547.09 kWh which is supplied the daily electricity needs of 237,608 households in Pekanbaru City. Abstract

Topang Village is the only village in Meranti Regency whose territory is on one island. The source of clean water used by the people of Topang Village for drinking and cooking needs is water produced from rain harvesting, but the rainwater harvesting system in Topang Village is less effective and still uses traditional methods. Supported by the Raincyle Standard v2.0 program based on the roof's drip line which forms the boundary of the catchment area as well as water needs based on the number of family members of each type of house. Rainfall parameters have an influence on quantitative harvesting of individual scale rainwater obtained from hail Rain Cycle v2.0 to meet raw water needs in Topang Village, Rangsang District, Meranti Island District can use 2 tanks can contribute water the fulfillment of raw water needs with Catchment Area of 49 m2. Abstract

Pekanbaru City as the capital city of Riau Province has increase in population especially in development area V (WP V). It was followed by an increase in the number of vehicles as a transportation and affect the amount of CO2 emissions generated from each vehicles. Green Open Space (RTH) is one of solution in order to handling the increasing of emissions because by absorb CO2 gas emissions. This research was conducted to determine the amount of motorized vehicles and the value of CO2 emissions produced each day, as well as the value of the ability of the green space absorption of CO2 emissions. The method used is recording traffic activities to calculate the amount of CO2 emissions and calculate all public green open space with a type of vegetation cover in the form of grasslands and trees that have a diameter of ≥ 20 cm, and the percentage of green space absorption. Research results obtained, namely the value of CO2 emissions from transportation in Pekanbaru Development Area V amounted to 595.029,20 tons of CO2 / year. While the ability to absorb CO2 by public green space in the Pekanbaru Development Area V is only 24.806,82 tons of CO2 / year. The results of the analysis show that public green open space in the Development Area V Pekanbaru in terms of absorption of CO2 emissions from transportation is still not enough with a percentage of only 3,72 %. Power absorption of green space is planned to reduce all CO2 emissions from transportation activities in Pekanbaru Development Area V, which is 869.365,529 tons of CO2 / year. Abstract

Domestic wastewater consists of black water and grey water, grey wateras the largest contributor to the total domestic wastewater contains organicmaterial. Microalgae Chlorella sp can its organic compounds and nutrients forphotosynthesis to reduce pollutants in grey wastewater. Rotary Algae BiofilmReactor (RABR) technology is a biological treatment with a suspended growthsystem and uses disk media as a site for attached growth occurs. This study aims to remove COD and TSS parameters in grey waste water by treatment withvariations in depth of immersed disks, which are 40%, 60%, and 80% in contact0,1,3, and 5 days. The results of the highest research during the deep processing showed the efficiency parameters, namely the variation of the depth of the disk submerged 80% on day 5 with the total density of microalgae cells Chlorella sp. suspension-based and attached at 9,55 x 106 cells/ml. The removal efficiency of COD was 81,58% with a concentration of 100 mg/l and the increase in TSS concentration was 522 mg/l.Key Word : Rotary Alga Biofilm Reactor (RABR), Grey Waste Water, Chlorellasp., Depth of Immersed Disk, COD.

Abstract

Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir energi telah menjadi pertimbangan yang sangat penting di Dunia maupun di Indonesia. Peningkatan permintaan energi ini disebabkan oleh pertumbuhan populasi dan peningkatan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan menipisnya cadangan minyak dunia dan juga bantuan dari bahan bakar. Lumpur IPAL (Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah) minyak kelapa sawit adalah hasil sedimen dari limbah cair yang mengandung bahan organik tinggi dan belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Lumpur IPAL Produksi minyak kelapa sawit dan cangkang biji karet yang dapat dibuat sebagai bahan bakar padat terdiri dari proses karbonisasi menggunakan gliserol mentah sebagai perekat dari briket yang dihasilkan. Perekat yang digunakan adalah gliserol mentah karena memiliki karakteristik viskositas dan kepadatan tinggi yang dapat digunakan sebagai perekat. Dalam penelitian ini variabel yang digunakan adalah rasio lumpur IPAL dengan produksi kulit kelapa sawit dan kulit biji karet (90:10, 80:20, 70:30, dan 60: 40% bb) dan tekanan pengepresan  (50, 75, dan 100 bar) dengan persentase gliserol mentah adalah 40% dari total berat briket. Hasil analisis proksimat diperoleh kadar air 3,93%, kadar abu 1,19%, zat volatil 2,93%, kadar karbon tetap 89,64% dan nilai kalor terbaik 3864,18 kal / gr pada rasio 60: 40% dengan tekanan 100 bar. Hasil proses yang sangat berpengaruh signifikan pada nilai kalor ialah rasio bahan baku
