Abstract

Through the study of the document as a qualitative approach, this study aims to determine how the film plays the propaganda functions from time to time, particularly from the colonial era to the New Order and know the purpose of propaganda was made.The results of this study found that the film is not a neutral medium but rather depends on the maker who uses a particular viewpoint of recording reality through the medium of film. This perspective can be injected, taped and constructed into a film in which the context is propaganda. Another fundamental findings of this study are: First, the existence of a close relationship in which the rulers (government) response to be the medium of film as a tool of propaganda with the intent and purpose of the authorities want. So it can be said that propaganda is a conscious, systematic, planned and aimed at concrete. Second, the meaning of propaganda emerging trend is always related to the purpose of the establishment the good and great “image” of ruler. In addition, the propaganda carried on anyway have the intention to attract the sympathy and support of the people, legitimacy, status qou or any form of distortion awareness and conduct establishment version of history “ruler”. Third, through the film we actually can know the mentality, the power relation to the identity of a nation, and the fact that the time recorded and stored in the texts of the film because the film certainly born with the socio-cultural scope or context of a particular age.

Abstract

Saat ini hoaks telah menjadi masalah bagi kebanyakan negara terutama para netizen yang akrab dengan media sosial atau dunia internet. Hoaks adalah sejenis informasi bohong atau tidak benar mengenai sesuatu hal yang dibuat secara sengaja oleh pihak tertentu. Tujuannya bervariasi dari sekadar iseng hingga kebencian pada pihak lain. Belakangan ini hoaks menjadi fenomena tersendiri karena mewabah di seluruh dunia terutama sejak kehadiran media social. Di Indonesia, hoaks merupakan salah satu masalah serius terutama hoaks terkait isu suku, agama, ras dan antar golongan (SARA). Hoaks meningkat terutama menjelang pesta demokrasi. Artikel ini menganalisis mengenai rubrikasi anti hoaks yang dimiliki oleh Tirto.id sebagai salah satu pers online nasional. Dari hasil analisis dengan perspektif teori kekayaan media ditemukan bahwa Tirto.id dalam beberapa aspek telah memenuhi prasyarat kekayaan media namun di sisi lain masih terdapat aspek-aspek yang belum dipenuhi.

Abstract

In late 2020, the Indonesian government has decided to ban the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) and its activities. The ban was based on a joint decree (SKB) issued by six officials, i.e.: Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights. Minister of Communications and Informatics, Attorney General, Indonesian National Police Chief, and National Counterterrorism Agency Head. The ban has caught the attention of Indonesian people, including being the subject of news in various media, i.e.: print, electronic and online. This research aims to examine the news coverage of the FPI ban in the selected Indonesian print media. This research used the qualitative content analysis method. The results found that there were some differences between the selected Indonesian print media in their news coverage practices.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) studies how to make computers do the same or even better than humans. In the academic world, the convenience created by AI can only be separated from negative impacts if its use is balanced with an understanding of its users. Potential ethical violations in writing scientific papers lurk if AI is not understood with clear boundaries. Plagiarism, data validity, and personal data security are potential ethical violations among students when using AI in writing work. Responding to the existing concerns, the Research Group Media, Audiences and Socio-Cultural Systems of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sebelas Maret University held a workshop entitled Building Scientific Awareness: Artificial Intelligence in the Ethics of Writing Work among Communication Science Students at Muhammadiyah Ponorogo University. Targeting students who will enter the stage of writing their final project in the form of a thesis, Muhammadiyah Ponorogo University was chosen because it is a developing private campus that needs to be encouraged to achieve superior quality. In the workshop, students showed enthusiasm in following every material presented by the speakers. A survey conducted at the end of the session showed that students' understanding and experience could provide clear boundaries regarding the ethics of scientific writing in the era of AI technolog.

Abstract

Aisyiyah merupakan organisasi perempuan yang kontribusi dalam menyebarkan dakwah Islam pada bidang pendidikan dan sosial keagamaan. Agar semua kegiatan dakwah yang dilaksanakan dapat tersiar dengan baik kepada masyarakat luas, maka segenap jajaran pengurus maupun anggota Aisyiyah perlu memiliki keterampilan untuk menulis berita kegiatan untuk ditayangkan di media daring. Mayoritas aktivis Aisyiyah ini adalah para guru di Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah (AUM). Akan tetapi tidak semua guru memiliki keterampilan menulis berita daring ini. Oleh karena itu perlu diselenggarakan kegiatan pelatihan bagi guru-guru AUM di Kecamatan Gatak. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para guru dalam menulis berita yang baik dan benar di media daring, menyebarkan informasi kegiatan Aisyiyah kepada masyarakat luas dan memperkuat syiar Islam melalui pemberitaan kegiatan aisyiyah secara daring. Pelatihan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, latihan, dan tanya jawab. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan, peserta memiliki pengetahuan mengenai prinsip-prinsip menulis berita daring, dan mampu menghasilkan tulisan yang sederhana tentang berita kegiatan yang pernah dilakukan.

Abstract

The Project for Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile and Rahmatan Lil Alamin Student Profile (P5-PPRA) learning program has been declared a mandatory program within the Merdeka Curriculum. However, teachers at Aisyiyah Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in Gatak District lack adequate understanding of it. The objective of this community service activity was to enhance Aisyiyah PAUD teachers' understanding of the P5-PPRA learning program. The methods used included lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and discussions. After participating in the socialization, participants' knowledge and understanding of the concepts, principles, and benefits of P5-PPRA increased from 58.13% to 90.69%. This improved understanding equips Aisyiyah PAUD teachers with sufficient preparation to implement the P5-PPRA learning program in the classroom. Mastery of the P5-PPRA learning program is expected to improve the quality of Aisyiyah PAUD education.

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan kecerdasan buatan (AI) telah mengubah lanskap komunikasi di lingkungan akademik, termasuk di kalangan mahasiswa. Mahasiswa sebagai generasi digital native menggunakan AI secara luas dalam tugas-tugas akademik, namun kerap tanpa dibarengi literasi kritis dan etis yang memadai. Dalam konteks ini, program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan untuk menyusun materi pelatihan Human-Machine Communication (HMC) yang bertujuan membekali mahasiswa dengan pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan praktis untuk menjadi komunikator yang kritis di era digital. Penyusunan materi dilakukan secara bertahap dan kolaboratif oleh tim dari Universitas Sebelas Maret dan Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, berbasis pendekatan needs-based dan constructivist. Materi yang dikembangkan terdiri dari empat unit utama: pengantar HMC, etika dan bias dalam AI, simulasi interaksi manusia-mesin, dan keterampilan komunikasi yang tidak tergantikan oleh AI, seperti empati dan storytelling. Proses pengembangan melibatkan identifikasi kebutuhan, studi literatur, desain modul berbasis active learning, serta validasi oleh mahasiswa dan dosen. Pelatihan direncanakan dilaksanakan pada Juni 2024 di Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Hasil evaluasi awal menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan kesadaran terhadap bias AI, memahami batas kemampuan mesin, dan mampu membedakan gaya komunikasi manusia dan mesin. Dengan demikian, penyusunan materi pelatihan HMC ini tidak hanya menjawab kebutuhan akademik, tetapi juga menjadi model pendidikan partisipatif yang mengintegrasikan teknologi dengan nilai-nilai komunikasi manusiawi. Materi ini dapat direplikasi sebagai bagian dari kurikulum literasi digital dan komunikasi etis di pendidikan tinggi.
