Abstract

Pembelajaran untuk anak tunarungu tidak hanya pada bidang akademik saja, tetapi juga pada pembelajaran keterampilan. Pembelajaran keterampilan ini bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan life skill dan memberikan peluang pekerjaan pada anak. Penelitian ini berfokus pada permasalahan pembelajaran keterampilan membuat hiasan dinding dari kerang pada anak tunarungu kelas IX SLB YPPLB Padang, dengan menggunakan Jenis penelitian tindakan kelas, Penelitian dilaksanakan dua siklus, masing-masing siklus dilakukan empat kali pertemuan yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 4 januari- 25 januari 2023. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi dan tes.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa video tutorial dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membuat hiasan dinding pada anak tunarungu. Sehingga, guru dapat menggunakan video tutorial untuk pembelajaran keterampilan.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve early writing skills of students with physical disabilities, specifically cerebral palsy, through the use of kinetic sand as a learning medium. The research was motivated by the low ability of students to write letters, numbers, and simple words independently and neatly due to limitations in fine motor control. This study employed a Classroom Action Research design conducted in two cycles in Grade III at SLB Negeri Salak. The research subjects consisted of two students, identified as AM and RB. The assessed aspects included the ability to write letters A–Z, numbers 1–10, and simple words independently and legibly. Data were collected through observation and performance tests and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods based on percentage scores. The results showed a significant improvement in both subjects. In the initial condition, AM achieved 33.33% and RB 26.67%. In Cycle I, the scores increased to 60.0% for AM and 46.7% for RB. Further improvement was observed in Cycle II, with AM reaching 80.0% and RB 66.7%. These findings indicate that kinetic sand is effective in enhancing early writing skills of students with cerebral palsy, as it provides sensorimotor stimulation that supports hand coordination and fine motor control. Therefore, kinetic sand can serve as an adaptive and innovative instructional medium to develop early writing skills in students with physical disabilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang dihadapi murid disabilitas rungu dalam memahami materi bangun ruang, disebabkan oleh terbatasnya ketersediaan media pembelajaran yang mampu menyajikan visualisasi tiga dimensi dan memenuhi kebutuhan murid disabilitas rungu. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis validitas media pembelajaran U-Geo AR pada materi bangun ruang yang diperuntukkan bagi murid disabilitas rungu. Pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket validasi yang diberikan kepada tiga validator ahli, yaitu ahli materi, ahli media dan ahli bidang disabilitas rungu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor validasi yang diperoleh dari ahli materi sebesar 97,3% dikategorikan sangat valid, skor yang diperoleh dari ahli media sebesar 80% dikategorikan valid, dan ahli bidang disabilitas rungu memberikan skor 80% dengan kategori valid. Rata-rata keseluruhan skor validasi 85,8% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran U-Geo AR berada pada kategori sangat valid dan dinilai layak untuk dilanjutkan ke tahap uji praktikalitas dan uji coba pengguna.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of using digital pop-up books in improving the ability of pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to distinguish between different types of animal reproduction. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, conducted over two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects consisted of two Year 10 students at the Mandailing Natal State Special School. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests, observation of student activities, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods to determine the percentage increase in students’ abilities in each cycle, as well as qualitative descriptive methods to describe changes in learning behaviour during the learning process. The research results indicate a gradual improvement in the students’ abilities. Initially, the students’ abilities were still low, at 43.75% and 31.25%. Following the intervention in Cycle I, abilities improved to 62.50% and 59.38%, though they had not yet met the mastery criteria. A significant improvement occurred in Cycle II, with achievement levels of 90.63% and 84.38%, which fell into the ‘very good’ category. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the Digital Pop-up Book medium also enhanced students’ attention, engagement, and independence in learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan gerak manipulatif, khususnya koordinasi mata dan tangan, pada murid dengan disabilitas intelektual kelas III di SLB Autis Harapan Bunda Padang. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan murid mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan gerakan melempar dan menangkap bola secara tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan gerak manipulatif melalui permainan lempar tangkap bola pada murid dengan disabilitas intelektual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah satu orang murid kelas III dengan disabilitas intelektual. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi, sedangkan data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif melalui persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan lempar tangkap bola dapat meningkatkan keterampilan gerak manipulatif murid. Persentase kemampuan awal murid sebesar 38,2% dengan kriteria mulai berkembang. Setelah diberikan tindakan pada Siklus I, persentase meningkat menjadi 76,4%, kemudian mengalami peningkatan kembali pada Siklus II menjadi 82,3% dengan kriteria berkembang sangat baik. Peningkatan tersebut terlihat pada kemampuan melempar dan menangkap bola, koordinasi mata dan tangan, konsentrasi, serta keaktifan murid selama mengikuti pembelajaran PJOK. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa permainan lempar tangkap bola efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan gerak manipulatif pada murid dengan disabilitas intelektual.

Abstract

Eighth-grade students with physical disabilities in SMPLB at SLBN Duri experience obstacles in digital graphic design skills, especially in the use of application features, visual element arrangement, and fine motor coordination when operating devices. This condition indicates the need for adaptive and easy-to-use learning media. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of VistaCreate learning media in improving and maintaining the graphic design skills of students with physical disabilities. The study used a quantitative approach with the *Single Subject Research* (SSR) method and an A-B-A design which included the first baseline (A1), intervention (B), and second baseline (A2). The subject of the study was one student with physical disabilities. Data were collected through structured observations and performance tests using a 15-indicator instrument with a score rubric of 1–4, then analyzed visually within and between conditions. The results showed a trend towards an increase in phases A1, B, and A2, with a percentage range of 43%–48%, 56%–82%, and 82%–88%, respectively. Data from the intervention phase showed an 8% positive change in the learning level and 100% stability, while analysis between conditions showed a 34% positive change in the learning level and 0% overlap. These findings indicate that VistaCreate effectively improves and maintains the graphic design skills of students with physical disabilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran papan flanel audio visual untuk mengembangkan kemampuan pengenalan huruf vokal untuk murid dengan disabilitas intelektual di SLB Peduli Anak Bangsa Payakumbuh. Proses penelitian menggunakan metode Design-Based Research (DBR) yang mencakup tahap identifikasi masalah, perancangan media, uji coba, revisi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini melibatkan seorang ahli media, seorang ahli materi, seorang guru kelas, dan satu murid dengan disabilitas intelektual. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara mengamati, berbicara langsung, memberikan angket praktikalitas, dokumentasi dan juga tes untuk mengukur pamahaman murid mengenal huruf vokal menggunakan tes yang sama. Penilaian menggunakan skala Likert, sedangkan data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan persentase untuk validitas dan praktikalitas serta gain sederhana untuk mengukur efektivitas. Penelitian dilaksanakan berdasarkan izin dari sekolah dan izin orang tua murid. Dengan demikian, media papan flanel audio visual layak diterapkan untuk membantu proses belajar bagi murid disabilitas intelektual dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal huruf vokal.

Abstract

This study focused on the design and implementation of technology-based interactive learning modules for physically challenged students. It was based on the lack of organized and pedagogically meaningful digital learning modules in special education. The comparative analysis of citation data was performed in line with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses framework using bibliometric methodology. From a total of 142 records screened, we included 7 studies for qualitative synthesis. The results suggested that interactive learning technologies, such as assistive technology, web-based platforms, augmented reality, virtual reality, and motion-based systems, enhanced accessibility to learning material but also contributed positively with student engagement and skill development. These technologies contributed on cognitive and motor learning outcomes and created really inclusionary adaptive teaching environments. However, the findings also expose that most of studies have primarily focused on technology tools only rather than curriculum design according to structured instructional module. The authors suggested that ambitious interactive learning modules should be designed in a systematic and pedagogically integrated manner. Future research needs to focus on blending the unique aspects of instructional design with technological innovation in order to more readily promote effectiveness for practitioners working within special education.

Abstract

Limited access to auditory input can create significant barriers for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students, particularly in language acquisition and social communication. This study aims to systematically review empirical research on the use of AAC systems in enhancing the communication abilities of hearing-impaired students. Articles were retrieved from the Scopus database and by using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses procedures. A total of five empirical studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed through qualitative analysis. Results showed that Augmentative and Alternative Communication treatments led to gains in initiations, single-word spoken-language production, receptive and expressive vocabulary, single-word reading accuracy, social communication skills. Results found were positive with both low and high technology approaches, although benefited most when used in conjunction with speech-language therapy and early intervention programs. Implementation obstacles included insufficient support for training teachers and providing places to go online. In general, these results indicated that Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems contributed to the communication development process, enhancing language acquisition skills and serving social participation in students with hearing disabilities. It was suggested that additional larger-scaled empirical studies with experimental designs should be conducted to reinforce the existing evidence.

Abstract

Qur'anic education for deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) students is a critical dimension of inclusive Islamic education yet remains underserved due to the predominantly auditory nature of traditional instruction. This study systematically analyzes instructional strategies, pedagogical methods, effectiveness outcomes, implementation challenges, and future recommendations for Qur'anic learning among DHH students. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) combined with bibliometric analysis was employed as the methodological framework. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database and screened in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, yielding five empirical articles that satisfied the predefined inclusion criteria. Analysis proceeded through bibliometric mapping and thematic synthesis. Findings reveal that Hijaiyah sign language and staged instructional approaches constitute the predominant strategies, with visual and multisensory methods demonstrating significant effectiveness in improving Qur'anic literacy encompassing reading, tajwid comprehension, and memorization. However, instructional effectiveness is conditioned by teacher competence, availability of appropriate learning media, and environmental support. Bibliometric analysis further indicates that technological integration remains nascent, representing a substantive gap and opportunity for future inquiry. This study contributes a structured scientific synthesis to the field of inclusive Islamic education and underscores the need for technology-driven pedagogical innovations, adaptive curricula, and systematic teacher preparation programs.
