Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the development requirements for creating HOTS-based thematic elementary school teaching modules that are digitally connected. In North Sumatra Province, the study was carried out utilizing a survey method at 9 Elementary Schools. 18 teachers of thematic learning in the classroom served as the research participants. The subjects of the study were principals' and teachers' reactions to the emergence of problem-based learning (PBL) integrated classrooms and social inclusion, instructors' propensity to use theme models in the classroom, students' thinking, and students' character. Interviews, questionnaires, observations, and tests were used to obtain the data. Data were descriptively examined. The analysis' findings demonstrate that school administrators have not offered advice on creating thematic models, therefore they are supportive of development initiatives

Abstract

Objective: This research is to find out whether ethnomathematics in the Angkola Batak culture can be used in mathematics learning, and it seeks to know which cultural artifact or philosophy of ethnomathematics is more widely used in learning. Method: This research is a literature review by collecting metadata through the PRISMA model. Articles from Google Scholar from 2018 to 2023 were collected with the help of Publish and Perish. This methodology consists of well-defined review stages, eligibility criteria developed and explained from information sources, a literature search strategy, a literature selection process, and data synthesis based on the literature. Results: Of the 14 articles used as research samples, there were four articles each for elementary school (ES) and junior high school (JHS), meaning ethnomathematics is more suitable for use at elementary and middle school levels. Using cultural artifacts as a learning medium is more common than using philosophy from that culture. Novelty: This research produces information that learning using ethnomathematics is more suitable for children with a semi-concrete learning level.

Abstract

Hasil belajar dapat digunakan dalam mengukur kemampuan seorang siswa. Tinggi rendahnya hasil belajar dapat disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor diantaranya student engagement dan self efficacy. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh student engagement dan self efficacy terhadap perubahan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 37 Medan pada semester genap 2023/2024. Untuk mempermudah generalisasi hasil penelitian, sehingga digunakan teknik pengambilan sampel simple random sampling, dengan jumlah total sampel 84 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yaitu angket self assessment dan peer assessment untuk variabel student engagement dan self efficacy, untuk hasil belajar dikumpulkan berdasarkan nilai tes matematika yang terdiri atas 16 soal Pilihan Ganda. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil penelitian yaitu bahwa secara parsial student engagement berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa; secara parsial self efficacy berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika; dan secara simultan student engagement dan self efficacy berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Koefisien determinasi yang disumbangkan secara simultan sebesar 24,56%. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan pentingnya peningkatan student engagement dan self efficacy dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa.Kata kunci: hasil belajar matematika, self efficacy, student engagement

Abstract

The Batak ethnic group has cultural diversity and is rich in the values of each culture, both in the products and processes, and cultural philosophies. The Batak ethnicity is divided into several sub-ethnicities, including Toba Batak, Karo Batak, Mandailing Batak, and Simalungun Batak. The distinctive characteristics of each ethnicity can be used as material for research by researchers to explore the elements of that culture. In the field of mathematics, culture can also be used as an object of study. The research method used in the present study is the systematic literature review (SLR) which is aimed at identifying, studying, evaluating, and interpreting research results by the topics being studied so that it will answer the research questions that have been determined. The results can be seen that the Batak ethnic cultural components have mathematical concepts in them such as, among others,  livelihood characters, traditional houses, traditional musical instruments, traditional foods, ulos cloth and ornaments. traditional dances, and traditional clothing. The mathematical concepts that are obtained from the exploration of Batak ethnic cultures include the concepts of lines, angles, congruence, spatial geometry, flat geometric shapes, spatial geometric shapes, geometric transformations, arithmetic sequences, and numbers. These diverse themes indicate that mathematics is our culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji keabsahan, kepraktisan, dan keberhasilan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dalam meningkatkan Mathematical Reasoning dan Kemandirian Belajar siswa di SMP Free Methodist 2 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VII SMP Medan. Hasil penelitian; Perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dinyatakan telah valid dan dapat meningkatkan Mathematical Reasoning dan Kemandirian Belajar siswa di SMP Free Methodist 2 dengan rata-rata penilaian pada validasi untuk tiap perangkat yaitu 3,4. Perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) yang telah dikembangkan dinyatakan praktis untuk meningkatkan Mathematical Reasoning dan Kemandirian Belajar siswa di SMP Free Methodist 2 Medan dengan rata-rata skor yang diberikan observer tiap pertemuan yaitu 3,84 sehingga dinyatakan terlaksana dengan baik tanpa adanya hambatan. Perangkat pembelajaran  berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) yang telah dikembangkan dinyatakan efektif untuk meningkatkan Mathematical Reasoning dan Kemandirian Belajar siswa di SMP Medan. Pembelajaran yang telah dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan diperoleh 23 siswa tuntas dalam test yang diberikan dengan persentase 76% dan hanya terdapat 7 siswa yang belum tuntas dengan persentase 23%.

Abstract

Tujuan direalisasikannya riset ini guna memperoleh E-Modul berbasis discovery learning yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah lembar validasi RPP, lembar validasi materi dan media, Lembar validasi angket tanggapan guru dan siswa, serta lembar validasi kuesioner pengamatan aktivitas murid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) perangkat pembelajaran berbasis discovery learning yang sudah dikembangkan mencukupi kategori validitas dengan rata-rata validitas RPP senilai 3,73 dengan kriteria sangat layak, materi dan media mempunyai poin rata-rata validitas berturut-turut senilai 3,68 dan 3,81 dengan kriteria sangat layak (2) Materi pembelajaran e-modul berbasis discovery learning yang dikembangkan memenuhi persyaratan kepraktisan: a) perolehan angket guru pada e-modul menunjukkan relevansi praktis sebesar 94,73 % dalam kategori sangat praktis; (b) hasil angket siswa pada e-modul menunjukan relevansi praktis sebesar 93,80% dalam kelompok sangat praktis; (3) Perangkat pembelajaran e-modul berbasis discovery learning yang dikembangkan memenuhi persyaratan efektif berupa : (a) ketuntasan belajar klasikal anak didik sebesar 89,66%; (b) 83,68% anak didik menggapai target pembelajaran pada masing-masing indikator; (c) Durasi pembelajaran sama dengan pembelajaran biasa pada uji lapangan dan mendapatkan tanggapan positif dari murid terhadap e-modul. Uji analisis N-Gain menunjukan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis anak didik yang memakai e-modul berbasis discovery learning meningkat senilai 0,80 dalam kelompok tinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa SMA Negeri 1 Parmaksian yang mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka, kendala yang dihadapi dan solusi yang sudah dilakukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode mixed methods dengan desain paralel konvergen, mengumpulkan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif secara simultan. Data dianalisis secara terpisah dan dibandingkan untuk melihat apakah temuan saling mengkonfirmasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis yang mengukur kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa yang telah menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka hanya mencapai 36,52%. Angka ini menunjukkan tingkat pemahaman dan keterampilan literasi numerasi siswa masih jauh dari harapan. Analisis mendalam mengungkapkan bahwa kendala yang dihadapi siswa meliputi interpretasi informasi, yaitu kesulitan memahami dan menganalisis informasi dalam berbagai bentuk; integrasi informasi, yaitu kesulitan menggabungkan informasi dari berbagai sumber; pemecahan masalah, yaitu tantangan dalam menggunakan strategi yang efektif untuk menyelesaikan masalah; dan penghubungan representasi matematis, yaitu kesulitan mengaitkan berbagai representasi matematis seperti grafik dan persamaan. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi: (1) belum pulihnya learning loss sebagai dampak dari COVID-19, (2) ketidaksiapan guru dan sekolah dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka, (3) dampak kecenderungan penggunaan gadget yang mengganggu konsentrasi siswa, (4) kurangnya peran orang tua dalam mendukung proses belajar. Solusi yang dilakukan oleh sekolah dalam mengatasi kendala dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi lewat pengimplementasian kurikulum merdeka meliputi: (1) Mengadakan les tambahan gratis, (2) Melaksanakan kegiatan rutin pagi "Rabu Literasi dan Numerasi", dan (3) Meningkatkan komunikasi antara guru dengan orang tua siswa lewat pameran karya.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model Cooperative Learning tipe Jigsaw berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan mengetahui seberapa efektif model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX-E dan siswa kelas IX-F dengan total 64 orang. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Jigsaw berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai signifikansi uji dua sisi yang diamati sebesar 0,031 < 0,05. Maka H 0 ditolak dan H a diterima. (2) Keefektifan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Jigsaw diambil dari hasil N-Gain yaitu sebesar 0,16. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berada pada kategori sedang. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Komunikasi Matematis, Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Jigsaw Abstract This research aims to know whether the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning model affects students’ mathematical communication skills and to know how effective is the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills. The design of this research is quasi-experimental. The sample of this research is students in class IX-E and students in class IX-F. The results of this research are: (1) The Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model has a positive effect on students’ mathematical communication skills. This can be seen from the significance value for the two-tailed test is observed as 0.031 < 0.05. Then, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. (2) The effectiveness of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model is taken from the N-Gain result, which is 0.16. It can be concluded that the effectiveness of the jigsaw cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills is in the moderate category. Abstract

This study aims to improve the understanding of Mathematics concepts through Geoboard learning media for students with visual disabilities at the SLB-A Karya Murni Education Foundation. This research was conducted at Yayasan Pendidikan SLB-A Karya Murni, which is one of the Junior High Schools (SMP) for students with visual disabilities in Medan City, North Sumatra. In this study using the type of R&D research refers to the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects in this study were seventh grade students of the SLB-A Karya Murni Education Foundation in the 2023/2024 academic year. The product draft in this study has been designed and then validated by 2 experts, namely Material Experts and Media Experts. The results of the initial stage validity test by material experts obtained an average percentage of 46.15% (Less Feasible), Stage two validity test by material experts obtained an average percentage of 88.46% (Very feasible), Stage one validity test by media experts obtained an average percentage of 47.5% (Less feasible), and Stage two validity test by media experts obtained an average percentage of 91.25% (Very Feasible). Understanding of concepts in mathematics learning is obtained from learning activities on flat building material, the results of which are effective assessment with a significant increase in learning outcomes with the category of Nominalised Gain index 0.67 <0.7 classified as (Moderate).This research produces a product in the form of learning media in the form of Geoboard. The Geoboard is feasible to use judging from the percentage obtained in each manufacturing process.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Problem Posing learning model and students' attitudes towards mathematics on the critical thinking skills of grade VIII students of SMPN 6 Percut Sei Tuan. Using a quasi-experimental approach with two groups, the experimental group taught using the Problem Posing model and the control group taught using regular learning, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Problem Posing in developing critical thinking skills. Data was collected through critical thinking skills tests (pretest and posttest) and mathematical attitude questionnaires during the odd semester of the 2024/2025 school year. The results of the two-track ANOVA analysis with a significance level of 0.05 showed that the Problem Posing learning model had a significant influence on students' critical thinking skills (F=28.789; sig.=0.000<0.05). Furthermore, students' attitudes towards mathematics which were categorized as high, medium, and low were also proven to have a significant effect on critical thinking skills (F=6.769; sig.=0.000<0.05). However, this study did not find any interaction between the Problem Posing learning model and students' attitudes in influencing critical thinking skills (F=0.658; sig.=0.532>0.05), which indicates that these two variables contribute to influence independently without moderation effects. These findings suggest that the Problem Posing model can effectively improve students' critical thinking skills regardless of their attitude towards mathematics, while a positive attitude towards mathematics in general contributes to better critical thinking skills.
