Abstract

Etnomatematika merupakan pendekatan yang mengkaitkan konsep matematika dengan konteks budaya lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan konsep-konsep matematika yang terkandung dalam budaya lokal suku Baduy dan suku Dayak melalui pendekatan etnomatematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber relevan seperti jurnal, prosiding, dan skripsi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kedua suku memiliki praktik budaya yang mengandung unsur matematis, seperti sistem bilangan, pengukuran, geometri, transformasi, hingga simbolis dalam ritual dan kerajinan. Suku baduy menerapkan konsep matematika dalam sistem kalender, pertanian, anyaman, dan permaian tradisonal. Sementara itu, suku Dayak menunjukkan penerapan matematika dalam arsitektur rumah adat, pola tenun, sistem perladangan, serta simbol geometris dalam ukiran dan pakaian adat. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa etnomatematika dapat menjadi jembatan antara budaya lokal dan pendidikan matematika kontekstual yang lebih inklusif dan bermakna.

Abstract

Interactive multimedia is one of the most popular types of learning media and provides a significant increase in the success of the learning process. The achievement of mathematics learning objectives can be seen based on the level of students' computational thinking abilities and learning motivation. Therefore, this research was conducted to develop interactive multimedia that can improve students' computational thinking skills and learning motivation. This development research uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The sample for this research was class IX students at Tunas Karya Batangkuis Middle School. The research results show that the interactive multimedia developed meets the criteria of being valid, practical and effective in improving students' computational thinking skills and learning motivation. Interactive multimedia obtained a validity value of 3.6 with very good criteria. Interactive multimedia obtained a practicality score of 3.4 (very good category) from the response questionnaire and 3.2 (good category) from the learning implementation questionnaire. The effectiveness of interactive multimedia can also be seen from several aspects, including students' classical completion level which reached 92%, achievement of learning objectives by 80%, very positive student responses, and good levels of student activity. Apart from that, the use of interactive multimedia also succeeded in increasing computational thinking abilities by 0.54 (medium category) and student learning motivation by 0.65 (medium category).

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan salah satu guru matematika SMP Negeri 35 Medan menyatakan bahwa siswa masih kurang dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan menggunakan Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Pengujian syarat analisis data ini adalah uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas dimana data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji Independent Sample t-test. Hasil uji t dari output menunjukkan nilai t hitung sebesar 12,214 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000. Karena signifikansinya kurang dari 0,05 dan nilai t tabel sebesar 2,002, maka ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 35 Medan.

Abstract

Based on the interview results with one of the mathematics teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Medan, it was stated that students still lacked understanding of story problems, were less precise in identifying the information contained in the questions, and had difficulty in making mathematical models. Students' abilities in problem-solving and mathematical calculations are not maximal. The goal of this study was to establish if the problem-based learning model has affected students' mathematical literacy. The sample of this research was 15 students from class VII-J at SMP Negeri 3 Medan. This research was an experimental research with quasi-experimental methods using one group pre-test and post-test design. This study uses a test instrument that has been tested and is valid. The data on students' mathematical literacy abilities were tested for normality, and the results were normally distributed. Hypothesis testing was carried out using paired t-test. The results of this study at the significance level  showed that  then the alternative hypothesis was accepted, meaning that there was an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills after being given treatment. The explanation above can be concluded that there is an effect of problem-based learning on students' mathematical literacy skills at SMP Negeri 3 Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' mathematical problem-solving difficulties in terms of learning styles using the GeoGebra-assisted problem-based learning model. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of the study consisted of 32 eighth-grade students grouped based on learning styles, namely accommodation, divergent, assimilation, and convergent. Data collection techniques were carried out through learning style questionnaires, mathematical problem-solving ability tests, and interviews. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions based on difficulty indicators, namely difficulties in facts, concepts, principles, and operations, which were associated with the stages of Polya's problem-solving. Based on the results of the study of 32 students, it was found that students with an accommodation learning style numbered 7 students (21.87%), a divergent learning style numbered 11 students (34.37%), an assimilation learning style numbered 9 students (28.12%), and a convergent learning style numbered 5 students (15.62%). From the results of interviews with students, for the accommodation of learning style, they experienced difficulties in the concept, principle, and operation indicators. Students with a divergent learning approach experience difficulties with indicators of concepts, principles, and operations. Students with an assimilation learning style experience difficulties with indicators of facts, principles, and operations. Students with a convergent learning style experience difficulties with indicators of principles and operations.

Abstract

The objective of this study are developing the valid Augmented Reality (AR) learning media in Android platform for three dimensional curved surface  and getting the students responses. This study was using the type of Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model ( Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The data collection technique was using the questionnaire, which used to validating the media and getting the students responses. The validation was obtained from lecturer in State University of Medan  as the material experts and media experts. The media have been implement to the students in the 3rd grade of SMP Negeri 35 Medan. The result of this study show that the AR learning media is the very valid learning media in accordance to the total score percentage of material experts (81,25%) and media experts (82,14%). The students was responsing that the AR learning media in excelent category in accordance to the total score percentage of students responses (85,88%). Therefore, based on the validation, the validity of the android-based augmented reality learning media for three dimensional curved surface has been tested

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach on students’ learning interest and mathematics learning outcomes in Grade VII at SMP Negeri 1 Pancur Batu. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling, with two classes selected as samples: Class VII-2 as the experimental class, which received treatment using the PjBL model with the STEAM approach, and Class VII-1 as the control class, which was taught using a conventional learning model. The instruments used were a learning interest questionnaire and a mathematics learning outcomes test. The data analysis using an independent sample t-test showed a significant difference between students’ learning interest and learning outcomes in the experimental and control classes. The t-test significance value for learning interest was 0.013 < 0.05, and for learning outcomes was 0.001 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning model with the STEAM approach has a significant effect on improving learning interest and mathematics learning outcomes of Grade VII students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the development requirements for creating HOTS-based thematic elementary school teaching modules that are digitally connected. In North Sumatra Province, the study was carried out utilizing a survey method at 9 Elementary Schools. 18 teachers of thematic learning in the classroom served as the research participants. The subjects of the study were principals' and teachers' reactions to the emergence of problem-based learning (PBL) integrated classrooms and social inclusion, instructors' propensity to use theme models in the classroom, students' thinking, and students' character. Interviews, questionnaires, observations, and tests were used to obtain the data. Data were descriptively examined. The analysis' findings demonstrate that school administrators have not offered advice on creating thematic models, therefore they are supportive of development initiatives

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model Cooperative Learning tipe Jigsaw berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan mengetahui seberapa efektif model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX-E dan siswa kelas IX-F dengan total 64 orang. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Jigsaw berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai signifikansi uji dua sisi yang diamati sebesar 0,031 < 0,05. Maka H 0 ditolak dan H a diterima. (2) Keefektifan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Jigsaw diambil dari hasil N-Gain yaitu sebesar 0,16. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berada pada kategori sedang. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Komunikasi Matematis, Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Jigsaw Abstract This research aims to know whether the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning model affects students’ mathematical communication skills and to know how effective is the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills. The design of this research is quasi-experimental. The sample of this research is students in class IX-E and students in class IX-F. The results of this research are: (1) The Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model has a positive effect on students’ mathematical communication skills. This can be seen from the significance value for the two-tailed test is observed as 0.031 < 0.05. Then, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. (2) The effectiveness of the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model is taken from the N-Gain result, which is 0.16. It can be concluded that the effectiveness of the jigsaw cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills is in the moderate category.
