Abstract

Namun, Cymodoceae rotundata hanya ditemukan pada transek 3, yaitu sebesar 21,8%.Kata Kunci: Enhalus acoroides, Padang Lamun, Pulau Enggano, Teluk BerhauABSTRACT Seagrass beds plays an important role in the sustainability of marine biota on marine ecosystem. Berhau Bay, which is to the west of Enggano Island, has the potential for seagrass beds which biophysical information is not yet known. This research aims to analyze the characteristics of seagrass beds on the coast of Berhau Bay, Enggano Island. This research method uses a square transect method measuring 50 cm x 50 cm taken every 10 m on each transect. The research results show that there are three types of seagrass, namely Cymodoceae rotundata, Enhalus acoroides, and Thalassia hemprichii. Seagrass cover on the coast of Berhau Bay, Enggano Island has a very sparse average cover of 18.1% on transect 1, 17.3% on transect 2, and 12.6% on transect 3. Enhalus acoroides and Thalassia hemprichii have a cover of around 33.8%-48.1% and 31.7%-32.5%. However, Cymodoceae rotundata was only found in transect 3, namely 21.8%.Keywords: Enhalus acoroides, Seagrass Fields, Enggano Island, Berhau Bay

Abstract

Kata kunci : Desa Kahyapu, Ekosistem Mangrove, Jenis Mangrove, Pulau EngganoABSTRACTKahyapu Village located on Enggano Island has the potential for utilized natural resources, especially the mangrove ecosystem. Mangroves monitoring is essential to understand the characteristics, distribution, and variations of mangrove types which are carried out periodically to maintain the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem on Enggano Island. This study aims to determine the types of mangroves, the number and density of mangroves in Kahyapu Village. The research method used a field survey method with field data collection (purposive sampling). The field survey was conducted from January 6 to 9, 2024, using a 10 x 10 m transect method. The results of the study showed that 8 types of mangroves were found, namely Rhizopora apiculata, Rhizopora mucronata, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Sonneratia alba, Lumnitzera littorea, Ceriops tagal, Xylocarpus granatum and Xylocarpus moluccensis. The density at station 1 (1,340 ind/ha), station 2 (1,360 ind/ha), station 3 (2,400 ind/ha), station 4 (950 ind/ha), station 5 (1,316.66 ind/ha) and station 6 (1,650 ind/ha). The density of mangrove species found included (6,436.67 ind/ha) Rhizopora apiculata, (803.33 ind/ha) Rhizophora mucronata, (883.33 ind/ha) Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, (510 ind/ha) Sonneratia alba, (100 ind/ha) Lumnitzera littorea, (50 ind/ha) Ceriops tagal, (100 ind/ha) Xylocarpus granatum and (133.33 ind/ha) Xylocarpus moluccensis. In general, the condition of the mangrove ecosystem in Kahyapu Village is classified as having high density and quite diverse species variations. Keywords: Kahyapu Village, Mangrove Ecosystem, Mangrove Types, Enggano Island

Abstract

Coastal cities like Bengkulu, in tropical coastal areas, possess natural potential and human resources for sustainable development. Despite this, they face climate change impacts and socio-economic vulnerabilities. This study employs regional analysis techniques to comprehensively understand the multidimensional aspects of developing diverse tropical coastal cities like Bengkulu. The method involves analyzing economic, social, and geographical factors. The research findings reveal a distinct regional typology within Bengkulu Province, with Bengkulu City emerging as an advanced and rapidly growing area. Economic sectors in Bengkulu City, particularly in the coastal region, exhibit advanced and fast-growing characteristics. Ratu Samban Sub-district stands out as a critical growth hub, while Kampung Melayu and Sungai Serut Sub-districts face lower hierarchy levels based on the scalogram index. This concentration of growth aligns with urbanization and economic development theories. The study emphasizes the urgency of inclusive development to ensure every area is included in achieving sustainable and equitable progress, contributing to the broader global agenda of the SDGs
