Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is increasingly adopted in educational settings, including MKWU, to foster active engagement and practical skill development. However, managing student religious activities within this framework presents challenges, particularly with manual attendance tracking and inaccurate point calculations. This research aimed to develop a system religious activity for students and mentors, utilizing the User Centered Design (UCD) approach. By employing the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, data was collected from 240 respondents through questionnaires. The findings revealed a 99% positive perception of the system regarding its effectiveness, ease of use, peer support, and resource availability. Key features, such as real-time attendance submission and point updates, significantly enhance operational efficiency and accuracy. The study concludes that this UTAUT-based evaluation system effectively meets user needs and boosts engagement in religious studies, marking a shift from traditional manual evaluation methods that often lack real-time feedback and comprehensive metrics

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the impact of software testing practices on software quality in software companies in Batam, Indonesia. It focused on identifying key factors such as software testing knowledge, software testing approach, and software testing complexity and analysing their correlation with software quality. Data was collected from 48 respondents, including project managers, developers, and QA teams, using a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms and convenience sampling. The questionnaire was designed based on related studies to ensure relevance to the respondents’ roles. Regression analysis identified significant impacts of testing complexity, approach (p = 0.000), and knowledge (p = 0.003) on software quality. The F-test result (F = 32.622) confirmed a strong relationship between testing practices and software quality. These findings emphasise the critical role of robust testing strategies in enhancing software quality. For companies in Batam, the study offers actionable insights, including adopting structured frameworks and preferable action on testing approaches. Implementing these strategies can help organisations improve software outcomes and maintain competitiveness in the evolving software development landscape.

Abstract

Technology is revolutionizing the way education is delivered, making it more accessible, efficient, and effective than ever before. The pace of technological advancement in the educational sector is accelerating at an unprecedented rate, transforming the traditional classroom model, and empowering learners with new tools and resources to enhance their learning experience. One such technology is artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT. This artificial intelligence technology developed by OpenAI is increasingly being utilized in educational settings, particularly to assist students in completing their academic tasks. This study aims to analyze and understand the perspectives of students regarding the use of ChatGPT, an AI-powered chatbot, as an aid in their academic coursework. The research employs both quantitative and qualitative approaches based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and data analysis is conducted using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that the research variable "Perceived Usefulness" has a significant influence on students' attitudes towards the use of ChatGPT. Additionally, the variable "Attitude towards ChatGPT" significantly impacts students' intention to use ChatGPT as a tool to assist them with academic tasks in the future. These findings provide valuable insight into the potential benefits of ChatGPT as an educational tool and highlight the importance of students' perceptions and attitudes towards technology in shaping their academic experiences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan Mail Gateway Security pada perusahaan PT. Pundi Mas Berjaya. Email merupakan salah satu alat komunikasi utama di perusahaan, baik untuk internal maupun eksternal. Dalam konteks ini, email gateway security menjadi penting untuk melindungi informasi sensitif perusahaan. Ancaman seperti phising, yang mencuri informasi melalui email palsu, malware yang merusak sistem, dan spam yang mengganggu produktivitas, memerlukan perlindungan yang efektif. Penerapan metode Mail Gateway Security merupakan sebuah metode untuk memecahkan masalah dan dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC), meliputi tahapan Analisis yang melibatkan identifikasi ancaman dan risiko terhadap email server perusahaan, Desain melibatkan pengembangan topologi sistem mail gateway dengan memanfaatkan layanan Aktiva berbasis cloud, Implementasi dengan menambahkan reputasi email server dan mengkonfigurasikan mail server Zimbra. Hasilnya menunjukan peningkatan keamanan email perusahaan, pengurangan spam, dan kemudahan pemantauan aktivitas pengiriman email, dengan penerapan Mail Gateway Security berbasis cloud, perusahaan dapat melindungi data sensitif, menjaga reputasi, dan meningkatkan keberlanjutan bisnis di era digital yang penuh dengan ancaman cyber.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of ephemeral content on consumer engagement and trust by integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence through a sequential explanatory mixed-method approach. Quantitative data were collected from 201 active social media users using validated measurement scales for ephemeral content, engagement, and trust (Cronbach’s α = 0.882). The statistical analysis consists of Pearson correlation, validity testing, and simple regression. Results show that ephemeral content significantly predicts consumer engagement (β = 0.570, p < 0.001; R² = 0.32) and consumer trust (β = 0.620, p < 0.001; R² = 0.38). These R² values indicate moderate explanatory power, consistent with the correlation coefficients. The qualitative phase involved semi-structured interviews with 20 participants to explain the mechanisms underlying the statistical relationships. Thematic analysis reveals three psychological factors that shape consumer responses: (1) real-time urgency that triggers FoMO-driven attention, (2) authenticity generated through minimally edited and spontaneous content, and (3) interactive features that foster a sense of participation. Integration of both datasets shows that ephemeral content is effective not merely because of its temporary nature, but because it combines immediacy, emotional proximity, and interactive cues that enhance perceived credibility.

Abstract

Pengembangan sistem inspeksi kualitas pada industri manufaktur, khususnya pada Printed Circuit Board (PCB), menghadapi tantangan signifikan akibat proses manual yang memakan waktu dan berpotensi menimbulkan kesalahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan sistem object detection dan tracking berbasis kamera yang mampu mendeteksi serta melacak pergerakan PCB secara otomatis dengan tingkat akurasi tinggi pada kondisi produksi yang dinamis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and development (R&D) melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, pengujian, dan evaluasi sistem. Model deteksi dilatih menggunakan algoritma Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) dengan framework YOLO untuk klasifikasi PCB dan Non-PCB, sedangkan pelacakan dilakukan secara real-time. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa model mencapai akurasi pelatihan dan validasi sebesar 100% dengan nilai precision, recall, dan F1-score sebesar 1.00 pada kedua kelas. Sistem yang dikembangkan terbukti mampu meningkatkan efisiensi proses inspeksi, meminimalkan kesalahan produksi, serta berkontribusi pada upaya transformasi digital di sektor manufaktur Indonesia.

Abstract

Currently, the selection if thesis supervisors in Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Internasional Ba-tam is done based on direct consideration of the supervisor candidate’s competence, functional, and education. However, this thesis supervisor selection process is not very effective if the student doesn’t know a suitable supervisor for the topic of the thesis they have chosen. Therefore, a decision support system is required to determine the thesis supervisor so that the thesis submitted by student is match with the competence of the thesis supervisor candidate. The primary goal of this research is to create a decision support system application that can assist in determining the thesis supervisor. The Research and Development (R&D) technique was employed in this study, with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) decision making approach and the ADDIE model for the development process. Lecturer data was collected by distributing questionnaires. Based on the result of SAW calculations, it was found that alternative 7 (A7) and alternative 4 (A4) were the best alternative. From the result of testing on application, the application was able to provide recommendations for thesis supervisors to users based on the calculation using SAW Method. Future research may try to use or combine other decision-making methods, such as AHP or Apriori.

Abstract

This study assesses the factors influencing blockchain technology acceptance among young developers in Batam, Indonesia, with a specific focus on comparing two distinct behaviors: using blockchain-based applications and engaging in blockchain development. Data were collected through a survey of 215 young developers and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The main outcomes reveal two fundamentally different adoption pathways. The intention to use blockchain applications is primarily driven by personal engagement and social influence, reflecting a "hype-driven" interest, and this intention strongly translates into actual usage behavior. Conversely, the model demonstrates a complete failure to explain development behavior, revealing a significant intention-behavior gap where the intention to develop shows no significant effect on actual development activities. The study concludes that for this demographic, hype-driven interest is sufficient for superficial application adoption but wholly inadequate for fostering development capabilities. Substantive adoption requires more than social trends; therefore, industry and educational focus should shift from promoting hype to enhancing technical literacy and demonstrating tangible use cases to bridge the gap from interest to competence.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of implementing a payment gateway on increasing sales in e-business in Batam using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) models. This study uses quantitative and qualitative methods, with data collected through questionnaires involving 108 e-business respondents. The research results show that the factors Perceived Usefulness, Performance Expectancy, and Security have a significant influence on the intention to adopt payment gateways. Analysis of the validity and reliability of the model shows that all indicators and variables in this research meet good standards. These findings indicate that the higher the perceived usefulness and security, the greater the likelihood of e-business actors adopting this technology. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi persepsi manfaat dan keamanan, semakin besar kemungkinan pelaku e-business untuk mengadopsi teknologi ini. Abstract

Data mining is a process of identifying data that is valid and has the potential to be useful to the person who did it. One of the purposes of data mining is to study previously existing data that composes certain patterns and is used to make predictions. Machine learning works by utilizing data and algorithms to create models with patterns from the data set. There are many algorithms that can be used, such as C4.5, K-Means, Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN), Naïve Bayes, and others. Since there are many algorithms in data mining, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. This research will focus on the comparison between the Support Vector Machine algorithm and the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm in terms of accuracy, precision and processing time.
