Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Community service is a process of self-empowerment for the benefit of society. The community empowerment movement, whatever its form, is part of community service. The problem regarding the large amount of vegetable oil waste for MSME actors both in Indonesia, especially in big cities is getting more complicated. The increasing amount requires immediate handling because it can damage the environment when disposed of carelessly. In this community service activity, the service team involved Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Bandar Lampung. In addition, this dedication also involves foreign university partners, namely the MARA University of Technology (UiTM) in its implementation. This service focuses on the utilization of vegetable oil waste that has been used and then used to produce value-added products such as biodiesel. This award will be held from 8 to 14 October 2022. The purpose of holding this service is how to manage used oil waste resulting from the MSME production process. This is because the waste oil produced is often just carelessly disposed of into the surrounding environment which will certainly have a negative impact on environmental sustainability. Later, when it becomes biodiesel, besides being an added economic value, it will also support environmental sustainability by creating an alternative source of renewable energy. The conclusion from this service is that the participants have the knowledge and ability to process waste vegetable oil into biodiesel.

Abstract

The study investigates information asymmetry between security issuers and other market participants. Investors and entrepreneurs require reliable information about the firms. Therefore, it is crucial to examine how the top management information can be communicated to other market participants. The empirical implications of the model are tested on the set of 28 of 89 Indonesian firms that made an initial public offering in 2013-2016. The asymmetry problem is most significant when a firm makes a first public issue. Furthermore, the study explains the number of shares retained by the entrepreneur as a signal of IPO firm value.  The test results are generally consistent with the signaling model's predictions, while the role of the controlling variables does not support the firm value. Keywords: Ownership-Retention, Firm Value, Initial Public Offering, IPO

Abstract

Community service is a process of self-empowerment for the benefit of society. This service is based on problems that occur in the community that the potential of existing honey has not been optimized to become a superior product. In addition, honey-producing bee farmers only produce honey in one product, namely real honey. Gradually, this product is certainly less attractive to consumers even though honey production keeps continue. Therefore, it is important to explore new business development alternatives so that farmers can receive more benefits from honey bee cultivation. In this community service activity, the team collaborated with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Cawangan Melaka, Malaysia with the title Business Development: Potential for Honey Production as an Alternative for Business Development. Abstract

Research Aims: This research aims to analyze how factors such as attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, financial literacy, and risk tolerance influence the investment intentions of university students. By focusing on these variables, the study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the determinants of investment behaviors among this demographic. Design/methodology/approach: Utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior as a guiding framework, the study employed a quantitative research approach. A survey, comprising structured questionnaires, was administered to a sample of students currently enrolled at the University of Lampung. The responses were then analyzed using multiple linear regression to identify significant predictors of investment intentions. Research Findings: The analysis revealed that attitude and perceived behavioral control are significant predictors of investment intention among University of Lampung students. Contrary to expectations, subjective norms, financial literacy, and individual risk tolerance did not show a significant direct influence on the investment intentions of the participants. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study contributes to the body of knowledge in financial behavior theory by contextualizing the Theory of Planned Behavior in the realm of student investment intentions. It offers original insights into the relative importance of various psychological and educational factors in shaping investment behavior among university students, a demographic that is often underrepresented in financial behavior research.
