Abstract

Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa dengan menggunakan board game sebagai media pembelajaran bisa meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal huruf konsonan pada peserta didik dengan hambatan pendengaran di SLB Al-Azhar Bukittinggi. Metodologi yang diterapkan adalah Single Subject Research (SSR) memakai desain A-B-A, dan data dianalisis menggunakan grafik visual. Pada pengamatan awal baseline (A1), kemampuan pengenalan huruf konsonan perolehan data 35%, 35% dan 35% yang menunjukkan perlunya intervensi. Setelah penerapan board game, terjadi peningkatan signifikan selama fase intervensi (B) dengan perolehan data 40%, 45%, 50%, 65%, 85%, 90% dan 90%. Pada kondisi baseline (A2) diperoleh data 90%, 90% dan 90%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa board game efektif sebagai media pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif, yang membantu peserta didik disabilitas rungu dalam mengenal huruf konsonan. Kesimpulannya, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa media pembelajaran inovatif board game dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan proses belajar peserta didik disabilitas rungu dalam mengenal huruf konsonan, serta memberikan dampak positif bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan vokasional mencuci sepeda motor tanpa sentuh pada siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan yang masih kesulitan memahami penggunaan alat serta langkah kerja secara mandiri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mencuci sepeda motor tanpa sentuh melalui penerapan model project based learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian tindakan kelas  dengan dua siklus yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan pada kelas vokasional perbengkelan fase D, dengan peneliti berperan sebagai observer dan guru sebagai fasilitator. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, asesmen kinerja, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif deskriptif menggunakan persentase ketuntasan keterampilan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menyiapkan alat dan bahan serta melaksanakan langkah-langkah mencuci sepeda motor tanpa sentuh dengan benar. Nilai rata-rata keterampilan meningkat dari kategori “kurang” pada pra-siklus menjadi “baik” pada siklus II, dan seluruh siswa mencapai kriteria ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Penerapan model project based learning terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan vokasional, partisipasi aktif, dan kemandirian belajar siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan. Disarankan agar guru pendidikan khusus menerapkan model Project Based Learning secara berkelanjutan dalam pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional lainnya untuk menumbuhkan kemandirian dan kesiapan kerja peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan dalam melakukan kegiatan perbengkelan sepeda motor, khususnya teknik menambal ban yang menuntut ketelitian dan kemandirian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menambal ban sepeda motor melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Direct Instruction pada siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan di SLB Negeri 1 Ranah Pesisir. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Single Subject Research (SSR) dan desain A-B, di mana fase A (baseline) menggambarkan kondisi awal tanpa perlakuan, sedangkan fase B (intervensi) menunjukkan kondisi setelah penerapan model Direct Instruction. Subjek penelitian adalah satu siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan yang dipilih berdasarkan hasil asesmen keterampilan awal. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan analisis visual grafik untuk menilai perubahan level, tren, dan stabilitas antara kedua fase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan menambal ban sepeda motor setelah diberikan perlakuan, di mana kemampuan siswa meningkat dari 52% pada fase baseline menjadi 100% pada akhir fase intervensi. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa model Direct Instruction efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan perbengkelan, terutama dalam aspek ketepatan dan kemandirian siswa disabilitas intelektual ringan. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah agar guru di sekolah luar biasa menggunakan model Direct Instruction sebagai alternatif pembelajaran keterampilan praktik yang terstruktur, konkret, dan mudah dipahami oleh siswa berkebutuhan khusus.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem found in phase C, namely a deaf student who has difficulties in learning science and science in the material where living things live. This study aims to prove whether the use of google sites learning media is effective in improving the learning of deaf students in science and science subjects in the material where living things live in SLB Negeri 1 Pariaman. This study uses a type of experimental research in the form of Single Subjeck Research (SSR) with an A-B-A design. The subjects in this study are phase C deaf students at SLB Negeri 1 Pariaman. The data collection techniques in this study are observation and tests. The data was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The results of the study showed that in the baseline condition (A1) which was carried out three observations and obtained a stable percentage of 20%. In the intervention condition (B) which was carried out 5 times with a stable percentage of 100%. In baseline conditions (A2) which were carried out 3 times, a stable percentage of 100% was obtained. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that google sites media is effective in improving students' ability to understand science and science learning on the material where living things live for deaf students

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of video tutorial media in improving linocut screen-printing skills among eighth-grade students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri 1 Ranah Pesisir. The research employed a Single Subject Research (SSR) A–B design, consisting of a baseline phase without intervention and an intervention phase using video tutorials. The participant was one student who experienced difficulties in carving image patterns. Data were collected through direct observation using a skill assessment sheet and analyzed visually by examining changes in level, trend, and stability. The findings show a significant improvement in the student's linocut skills, increasing from 56% during the baseline phase to 100% at the end of the intervention. These results indicate that video tutorial media is effective in enhancing vocational skills, particularly linocut screen-printing, and serves as an innovative, concrete, and engaging learning strategy for students with mild intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of adaptive swimming instruction for students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB Aisyiyah Sijunjung, focusing on the planning, implementation, and evaluation conducted by teachers, as well as the school’s support in meeting students’ learning needs. The study is motivated by the importance of adaptive physical education for students with special needs and the limited empirical research on swimming instruction in regional special schools. A qualitative descriptive approach was used. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations at the swimming pool, and document analysis of training programs, evaluation notes, and supporting archives. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model—data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing—with credibility ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The findings show that teachers design instructional plans gradually based on students’ individual needs and apply adaptive strategies such as demonstrations, repetition, task analysis, prompting, and positive reinforcement. The teaching process is structured from opening to closing activities, with adjustments aligned to students’ motor and cognitive abilities. Evaluation is carried out continuously through baseline assessment, ongoing assessment, and outcome evaluation based on individual progress rather than competitive standards.

Abstract

The study was motivated by low learning interest and limited independence achievement among students due to instructional practices that were predominantly based on verbal explanations and direct demonstrations without the support of varied learning media. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches and was conducted at SLB Aslam Kids Padang. The research subjects were Grade X students with mild intellectual disabilities. The study was implemented in two cycles, each consisting of four meetings and following the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through structured observations of students’ learning activities and assessments of flower board arrangement skills, while data analysis was conducted using percentage techniques. The results indicated that the use of video tutorial media significantly improved students’ learning activities and skill performance. The average percentage of students’ activity and skill achievement increased from 68.7% in Cycle I to 93% in Cycle II. The novelty of this study lies in the use of video tutorial media as a vocational learning intervention that is visually structured, step-by-step, and repeatable according to students’ needs, effectively supporting the learning characteristics of students with mild intellectual disabilities in achieving greater learning independence.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve early reading skills and to describe the learning process through the use of the Marbel application for students with mild intellectual disabilities. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) and was conducted at SLB Negeri Simalungun. The research subjects were two fifth-grade students with mild intellectual disabilities, identified as SA and VL. Based on the initial assessment, students’ early reading skills were at a low level, with achievement percentages of 35% for SA and 30% for VL.The research was implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The findings indicated a gradual improvement in the learning process. In Cycle I, students showed increased focus, interest, and ability to recognize letters and syllables, although intensive teacher guidance was still required. In Cycle II, the learning process became more effective, as indicated by higher student participation, increased independence, and improved reading fluency. In terms of effectiveness, early reading skills improved to 78% for both students in Cycle I, and increased significantly in Cycle II, reaching 93% for SA and 90% for VL. The results demonstrate that the Marbel application is effective in improving both the learning process and early reading outcomes for students with mild intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of self-care ability of a child with Down syndrome in independently performing the skill of applying sanitary pads. Limitations in understanding the sequence of steps, remembering procedures, and coordinating fine motor skills caused the child to remain dependent on assistance from others, especially during menstruation. Based on the results of initial observations and assessments, it was found that the child’s ability to apply sanitary pads was still low and had not been carried out correctly and sequentially. Therefore, a structured, concrete, and repetitive learning model was needed. This study employed an experimental method using a Single Subject Research (SSR) approach with an A–B design consisting of a baseline phase (A) and an intervention phase (B). The research subject was a female third-grade student. Data collection was conducted through performance tests using a task analysis–based assessment instrument. Data were analyzed descriptively using quantitative methods through visual graph analysis, which included within-condition analysis and between-condition analysis. The results of the study showed an improvement in the child’s self-care ability in applying sanitary pads after the implementation of the Direct Instruction learning model. During the baseline phase, the child’s ability was at 58.3% and showed a stable trend. During the intervention phase, the child’s ability increased, reaching the highest percentage of 69.4% and showing a more consistent trend. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Direct Instruction learning model is sufficiently effective in improving self-care skills in applying sanitary pads for a child with Down syndrome

Abstract

Anak berkebutuhan khusus dengan gangguan pendengaran menghadapi kendala signifikan dalam proses akuisisi bahasa, terutama berkaitan dengan penguasaan perbendaharaan kata yang kemudian mempengaruhi kapasitas komunikasi dan capaian pembelajaran mereka. Hasil observasi pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada siswa tingkat VII di SLB Negeri Simalungun mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan mereka dalam menguasai kosakata masih berada pada level yang kurang memadai, terutama ketika mempelajari topik penamaan buah-buahan. Riset ini dirancang dengan tujuan untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan perbendaharaan kata siswa tunarungu melalui implementasi media berbasis video yang mengintegrasikan bahasa isyarat dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode yang diaplikasikan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas mengadopsi kerangka Kemmis dan McTaggart, mencakup fase persiapan, implementasi, pengamatan, dan evaluasi reflektif. Implementasi penelitian berlangsung melalui dua putaran siklus dengan melibatkan siswa tunarungu tingkat VII di SLB Negeri Simalungun sebagai subjek kajian. Prosedur pengumpulan data mencakup evaluasi verbal dan tertulis, pengamatan sistematis, serta pendokumentasian. Temuan riset memperlihatkan bahwa penerapan media video pembelajaran berbasis bahasa isyarat berhasil mengoptimalkan penguasaan perbendaharaan kata siswa, yang terlihat dari peningkatan kapasitas dalam mengidentifikasi, menuliskan, dan mengaplikasikan kosakata sesuai sistem bahasa isyarat serta pencapaian standar ketuntasan pembelajaran. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media video pembelajaran bahasa isyarat terbukti efektif sebagai instrumen untuk meningkatkan perbendaharaan kata siswa dengan disabilitas pendengaran.
