Abstract

The conventional steam-based sterilization of crude palm oil (CPO) in Indonesia is known to be energy- and water-intensive, as well as time-consuming. This necessitates more efficient and sustainable alternatives, such as microwave oven heating. While microwave applications in CPO sterilization have been explored as a more efficient and sustainable alternative, existing studies often lack comprehensive optimization and a systematic investigation of key process parameters. This study aimed to optimize fresh fruit bunch (FFB) sterilization using a microwave oven to identify optimal operating parameters for maximizing oil extraction yield and minimizing Free Fatty Acid (FFA) content. The Central Composite Design (CCD) within Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed as a statistical technique to model the process and ensure the validity of the results. Three independent variables were investigated: sterilization time (6–20 min), fruit mass (396–1104 g), and fruit maturity level (ripe and over-ripe), resulting in twenty-six experimental combinations. Optimal conditions for maximum yield and lowest FFA were determined at 6 min sterilization time and 550 g fruit mass for both maturity levels. Conversely, suboptimal conditions at 11.5 min and 150 g fruit mass for both maturity levels resulted in the lowest yield and highest FFA. This research provides crucial insights for developing an optimized microwave sterilization technique, enhancing palm oil processing efficiency and product quality. The findings underscore the potential for a scalable, low-energy sterilization method that could significantly reduce the environmental footprint of CPO production, instilling optimism about the positive impact of this research.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the growing influence of social media X in shaping students' civic participation patterns in the digital democracy era. The main problem lies in how students understand the meaning of civic participation, the forms of digital participation they engage in and their perceptions of digital ethics in such involvement. The purpose of this research is to analyze in depth students' understanding, participation practices, and ethical considerations in using X as a digital public sphere. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, digital observation, and documentation of online content. The findings reveal that students perceive civic participation not only as formal involvement such as elections, but also through discussions, critiques, and digital campaigns. The forms of participation vary from passive actions such as likes and retweets to more creative expressions such as threads, infographics, and hashtag campaigns. Nevertheless, these practices face challenges such as slacktivism, polarization, and regulatory risks associated with Indonesia's ITE Law. These findings highlight the urgent need to strengthen critical digital literacy, foster ethical media practices, and internalize democratic values in civic education, ensuring that students are not only digitally active but also capable of substantive, ethical, and responsible participation in digital democracy

Abstract

In the current era of digitalization and globalization, the role of managers is growing in managing the increasing information technology risks in modern banking. In addition, managers also play an important role in internal and external communication. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the role of managers in improving company performance is multifaceted by adopting a qualitative descriptive method. Through a qualitative descriptive methodological approach based on literature review, content analysis, triangulation, and synthesis, the researcher was able to extract relevant information from the literature, organize the findings in a coherent framework, and provide meaningful interpretations for the academic community and business practitioners. The results of the research reveal that the role of managers in improving company performance is very significant. Managers act as leaders, planners, decision makers, facilitators, liaisons, mentors, and change agents

Abstract

Lettuce, which is also known by the scientific name Lactuca sativa L, is a promising horticultural crop and has high economic value. This plant is rich in minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, potassium, iron, folate, carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E. In growing lettuce hydroponically, the Deep Flow Technique (DFT) method has proven to be effective. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) to test the effect of giving white and blue LED spectrum to lettuce plants. There were four treatments tested: P1 (no LED), P2 (1:3 white and blue LED), P3 (1:1 white and blue LED), and P4 (3:1 white and blue LED). Each treatment was repeated five times, with two sample plants in each repetition, so that there were a total of 40 sample plants. The parameters involve plant height, number of leaves, root length, root weight, leaf color, antioxidant content, consumption weight, leaf width, stem diameter, and electricity consumption during harvest. Measurements were carried out every week for five weeks. The results showed that LED lights had a significant effect on the number of leaves, stem diameter, root weight and consumption weight, but did not have a significant effect on plant height, leaf width, root length, antioxidant content and leaf color. Based on this research, it can be concluded that treatment 4 (white and blue LED 3:1) gave the best results, with the number of leaves reaching 27.4 pieces, root length 18.95 cm, root weight 23.2 g, consumption weight 109 g, stem diameter 8.2 mm, and antioxidant content of 42.39% inhibition. Abstract

Pemerintah melalui BPJPH menginstruksikan kepada UMKM untuk mendaftarkan sertifikat halal pada produk yang diproduksi. Wajib Halal Oktober 2024 merupakan salah satu program yang dilakukan pemerintah untuk membantu UMKM dalam kepengurusan sertifikat halal. Untuk UMKM yang belum melakukan sertifikasi halal pada produknya maka konsekuensi yang diperoleh adalah menyertakan keterangan tidak halal pada produknya walaupun produk tersebut berbahan halal, dan hal tersebut akan merugikan UMKM tersebut. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu dan mendampingi UMKM di kota Jambi khususnya binaan HIPMI dan Ambung Harsa dalam melakukan pendaftaran sertifikasi halal atas produk UMKM tersebut. Berdasarkan identifikasi permasalahan pada UMKM maka disusun tahapan solusi yang menjadi metode kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini.  Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah dengan melakukan sosialisasi; Penyuluhan; Pelatihan serta Pendampingan terkait dokumen persyaratan pengurusan sertifikat halal. Kemudian dilakukan Monitoring dan Evaluasi terkait keberhasilan tahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan. Hasil Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah sebanyak 8 UMKM berhasil mendapatkan sertifikat halal untuk produknya melalui skema reguler dan skema Self-Declare. Selain itu juga dilakukan kepengurusan dokumen lain berupa NIB dan PIRT untuk kedelapan UMKM tersebut. Berdasarkan hal tersebut keberhasilan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini mencapai 80% dari target yang direncanakan yaitu sebanyak 10 UMKM memperoleh sertifikat halal untuk produknya.

Abstract

Desa Pengujan merupakan salah satu desa yang memiliki cukup banyak Pelaku UMKM. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi digital marketing guna meningkatkan perekonomian pada UMKM pada Desa Pengujan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deksriftif kualitatif serta   melakukan pendekatan survei. Serta jenis data yang digunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Kesimpulan   dalam penelitian ini E-komersial dan pengaplikasian UMKM seperti Pembuatan akun sosial media Facebook dan Instagram, Juga pembuatan akun Shoppe yang sangat berguna untuk para UMKM dalam menawarkan kemudahan dalam bertransaksi jual beli online sehingga bisa di jangkau oleh pembeli dari jarak jauh. Dan pembuatan Website untuk mempromosikan UMKM yang akan di kenalkan ke Pengunjung yang akan datang sehingga mudah untuk di akses dan lebih mudah pengunjung dalam mencari informasi mengenai apasaja yang di jual oleh UMKM tersebut.
