Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to examine the effect of financial knowledge, financial attitudes, financial socialization, locus of control on financial management behavior. The research sample is the millennial generation in Batam City which was selected by purposive sampling method who were born in 1984–1999. Research data were collected by questionnaire. The data were analyzed using normality, validity, heteroscedasticity, and t and F tests. The results of this study concluded that financial knowledge, financial attitudes, primary agents of financial socialization, secondary agents of financial socialization, childhood consumer experiences had a significant positive effect on financial management behavior, while other variables are not significant. The managerial implications are doing financial planning, building a saving pattern, having a sense of responsibility, and setting financial goals. Parents are expected to provide financial concepts since childhood, build the habit of saving since childhood by giving pocket money and teach how to allocate money. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh pengetahuan keuangan, sikap keuangan, sosialisasi keuangan, locus of control terhadap perilaku pengelolaan keuangan. Sampel penelitian adalah generasi milenial di Kota Batam yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling yang lahir pada tahun 1984–1999. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, validitas, heteroskedesitas, dan uji t dan F. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan keuangan, sikap keuangan, agen primer sosialisasi keuangan, agen sekunder sosialisasi keuangan, pengalaman konsumen masa kecil berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap perilaku pengelolaan keuangan, sedangkan variabel lainnya tidak signfikan. Implikasi manajerial adalah melakukan perencanaan keuangan, membangun pola menabung, memiliki rasa tanggung jawab, dan menetapkan tujuan keuangan. Orang tua diharapkan memberikan konsep keuangan sejak kecil, membangun kebiasaan menabung sejak kecil dengan memberikan uang saku dan mengajarkan cara mengalokasikan uang.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out factors affecting property investment decision in Batam. Investment decision is defined as how a person decides on investment to select the right alternative and type of business. The independent variables in this study are accounting information, self-image/firm-image coincidence, neutral information, advocate recommendations, and personal financial need. The object of this study is property investors in Batam. This study distributed 300 questionnaires and selected 250 questionnaires to be processed/analyzed. The results show that accounting information does not significantly affect the investment decision, meanwhile self-image/firm-image coincidence, neutral information, advocate recommendations, and personal financial need significantly affect investment decision in Batam.

Abstract

This study determines the role of financial planning in the Covid-19 era and the influence of financial literacy, financial knowledge, social demographics, and lifestyle during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this research is a conceptual paper with a literature review approach. The role of variables has a tremendous influence on financial planning where with this knowledge, it is possible to awaken individuals to behave well in financial matters. Covid-19 has a positive impact on financial planning because it can increase awareness of the importance of financial planning to make wise decisions and not behave consumptively. The better a person's behavior in managing his financial planning, the better his financial planning in the future.

Abstract

This study examines how macroeconomic indicators and Covid-19 cases can affect the movement of the LQ45 index. The Covid-19 case was also studied as a moderator between the relationship between macroeconomic indicators and the LQ45 index to determine whether the Covid-19 case needed to be a crucial consideration when investing in stocks using macroeconomic indicator analysis techniques. This study was tested using multiple regression analysis methods. The results of the analysis found that the factors that were found to significantly affect the LQ45 index were the exchange rate which impacted the LQ45 index significantly negatively, the price of Brent oil, which involved the LQ45 index significantly negatively, the DJIA index, which positively affected the LQ45 index, and the case of Covid-19 which affects the LQ45 index significantly negatively. This study found two macroeconomic variables that had no significant effect on the LQ45 index: the inflation rate and real interest rates. Furthermore, the results has found a negative effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the LQ45 index, so it is hoped that the government and investors can consider this research indicator as a consideration in making economic and investment decisions.

Abstract

AbstrakSetiap orang mempunyai tujuan yang berbeda-beda tergantung dari kondisi seseorang tersebut. Supaya tujuan tersebut dapat tercapai, kita harus mempunyai kecerdasan dalam hal finansial yaitu kecerdasan dalam mengelola keuangan, supaya dana yang terkumpulkan dapat digunakan secara efisien dan tepat pada sasaran. Banyak anak usia muda sekarang masih dinilai cukup rendah dalam hal merencanakan dan mengelola keuangan mereka. Jenis penitian yang digunakan yaitu dengan pendekatan secara kualitatif. Dan teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan teknik data sekunder. Kemudian teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil pembahasan yang diperoleh yaitu perencanaan dan pengelolaan keuangan menjadi hal yang penting untuk anak usia muda saat ini demi kesejahteraan di masa mendatang.Kata Kunci: Perencanaa, Pengelolaan Keuangan, Perencanaan Keuangan, Usia Muda

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the impact of foreign exchange rates on Indonesia’s composite stock index, the JKSE. To perfect the analysis, several other macroeconomic variables such as interest rates, oil prices, gold prices, as well as inflation rates were also added as proposed by preceding research. COVID-19 new infection cases were added as a moderating variable to test whether it can strengthen or weaken the correlation of each macroeconomic variable tested against the stock market. The parameter of this study is specifically focused on Indonesia to complete the lack of sufficient research conducted for the same topic and/or in the same setting. The study found all the macroeconomic variables tested in the analysis concurrently influence Indonesia’s stock market index. When each macroeconomic was tested separately, the test results found that although the direction of the impact varies, all the variables except for gold price were found to have a significant impact on the stock market in Indonesia. The moderating variable, COVID-19, was also found to have a notable influence on substantiating the impact of all the correlations tested except in moderating for exchange rates and oil price.

Abstract

Manusia sering melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan yang melanggar hukum yang sudah ditetapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bisa disebut juga pelanggaran Hak Asasi Manusia atau HAM. Pelanggaran HAM sering terjadi dimana-mana dan tidak dapat dihindari, contohnya adalah diskriminasi atau perbudakan yang dilakukan secara sistematis, penganiayaan, pencemaran nama baik hingga penghilangan nyawa seseorang. Mahasiswa Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) telah bekerjasama dengan pihak mitra yakni Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Sekolah Harapan Utama (SHU) dalam melaksanaan program pengabdian dengan memberikan edukasi tentang dasar-dasar HAM kepada siswa SMK yang ada di SMKS Harapan Utama. Program pengabdian yang dilaksanakan mengambil topik cerdas cermat yang berjudul “Perlindungan Terhadap Hak Asasi Manusia” terhadap SMKS Harapan Utama. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan tersebut adalah berbentuk cerdas cermat dimana tim pengabdian akan menyampaikan beberapa topik berupa materi yang disampaikan dalam bentuk presentasi dan dijelaskan secara saksama oleh anggota tim pengabdian. Tujuan diberikan pemahaman materi terhadap siswa SMKS Harapan Utama adalah untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan atau pendidikan bagi orang-orang yang mengikuti maupun yang mendengarkan. Cerdas cermat juga merupakan salah satu cara dalam meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa karena dapat merangsang reaksi atau minat belajar siswa. Tujuan lainnya ialah untuk menyakinkan generasi muda sekarang terhadap pentingnya Hak Asasi Manusia atau HAM di kehidupan masing-masing. Hal tersebut dapat mendidik mereka menjadi generasi muda yang bertanggung jawab sehingga dapat memberikan dampak positif bagi bangsa dan negara. Oleh karena itu besar harapan kami dari tim pengabdian adalah kami dapat memberikan manfaat yang berguna khususnya dalam perlindungan terhadap Hak Asasi Manusia atau HAM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat dampak COVID-19 dalam memperkuat maupun memperlemah hubungan empat rasio keuangan terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan sektor kesehatan yang tercatat di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Populasi yang digunakan sebanyak 23 perusahaan sektor kesehatan yang terdaftar di BEI. Dengan metode penarikan sampel purposive sampling, 17 perusahaan yang mencatat laporan keuangan secara utuh tahun 2015-2020 digunakan sebagai sampel. Peneliti menggunakan metode analisis regresi data panel dan pengolahan data dilakukan dengan software E-Views 12. Dari hasil pengujian, ditemukan bahwa dari keempat rasio keuangan yang dipakai, current ratio sebagai rasio likuiditas tidak berpengaruh apa apa terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan yang dihitung dengan ROA. Variabel debt-to-equity ratio berpengaruh signifikan negatif, dan variabel net profit margin serta total asset turnover berdampak signifikan positif terhadap kinerja keuangan. COVID-19 hanya memoderasi hubungan antara current ratio atas kinerja keuangan dan net profit margin atas kinerja keuangan. Sedangkan COVID-19 terlihat tidak memoderasi hubungan antara debt-to-equity ratio dan total asset turnover terhadap kinerja keuangan.

Abstract

Purpose  – This research examines female board independence and influence on company performance. The concept of female leaders in work should be discussed since gender inequality assumes that they are considered not socially accepted, have a non-business background, and are appointed due to nepotism. Methodology – The research uses a quantitative approach - research data from companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the KOMPAS100 index from August 2021 to January 2022. The data was collected from the company’s financial reports from 2014 to 2020. Findings – It was found that both Tobin’s Q and ROA were significantly negative for female board independency. It reduces the effectiveness of a company’s profitability. Females are considered incompetent since they were appointed for family ties and not based on skills or qualifications. The robustness test reveals that the female board independence dummy test with Tobin’s Q and ROA is considerably negative. Furthermore, female board members do not affect the company’s success or ability to persuade investors. Originality – Females are discouraged from serving as independent members to avoid harmful performance impacts. Therefore, the idea of considering them as members of the board of independence should be discouraged, as it will affect the opinions of investors.

Abstract

Abstrak Modal intelektual menjadi komponen yang penting dalam membuat keputusan struktur modal. Studi ini memiliki tujuan agar dapat menganalisis hubungan modal intelektual yang mencakup Human Capital Efficiency (HCE), Structural Capital Efficiency (SCE), Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE) dan Value Added Intellectual Capital (VAIC) terhadap struktur modal. Sampel data yang diperoleh dalam studi ini menggunakan data kuantitatif melalui metode purposive sampling. Studi memperluas literatur saat ini melalui penggunaan data dari perusahaan yang termasuk dalam daftar Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) periode 2017-2021. Pengolahan data yang terkumpul menggunakan software SPSS dan Eviews. Analisis regresi berganda diterapkan dalam pengujian hipotesis. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian yakni modal intelektual tidak mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap struktur modal. Namun, variabel kontrol yang terdiri dari Return on Asset (ROA) serta Return on Equity (ROE) mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap struktur modal. Variabel kontrol lainnya, yaitu ukuran perusahaan tidak memberi pengaruh signifikan terhadap struktur modal. Kata Kunci: modal intelektual; struktur modal; hutang; efisiensi; VAIC. Abstract Intellectual capital is an important component in making capital structure decisions. This study aims to analyze the relationship of intellectual capital which includes Human Capital Efficiency (HCE), Structural Capital Efficiency (SCE), Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE) and Value Added Intellectual Capital (VAIC) to capital structure. Sample data obtained in this study using quantitative data through purposive sampling method. The study expands the current literature through the use of data from companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2017-2021 period. Processing of the collected data using SPSS and Eviews software. Multiple regression analysis was applied in hypothesis testing. The conclusion of the research is that intellectual capital does not have a significant effect on capital structure. However, the control variables consisting of Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE) have a significant effect on the capital structure. Another control variable, namely the size of the company does not have a significant effect on the capital structure. Keywords: intellectual capital; capital structure; leverage; efficiency; VAIC.
