Abstract

The decreasing of student’s interest and motivation in Indonesian’s traditional music learning caused by less varied of the learning process and the lack of student’s knowledge about Indonesian’s traditional song. The lack of the utilization of gadget like educational games in the learning process also causes the decreasing of student’s interest and motivation. This study aims to verify the effectiveness of “Lagu Nusantara” games through student’s interest and motivation in the music art learning, especially about Indonesian’s traditional song. The method that used in this study is a quantitative method with the post-test only control group design for an experimental model which supported by the observation of games that used by students. The research subject was 89 elementary students who divided into a control group and experimental group (45 students for the control group and 44 students for experimental group). The result, “Lagu Nusantara” as the game is sufficient to promote student’s interest and motivation in the music art learning process, especially about Indonesian’s traditional song. As supporting data, this research obtained observation data for student’s interest and motivation which are well in the category (Interest score = 89.44%; motivation score = 87.78%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Realistic Mathematics Education model on mathematics problem-solving ability of students and analyze the mathematical problem-solving ability of students based on Polya steps. The method used is the sequential explanatory mixed-method design. The sample in this study is the fourth-grade students of Public Elementary School Bintoro 8 and the fourth-grade students of Public Elementary School Bintoro 9. Quantitative data were analyzed using a t-test and N-gain test based on the value of mathematical problem-solving ability. Qualitative data were analyzed through five procedures: data collection, triangulation, reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that the average difference of mathematical problem-solving ability of students experimental class is better than the control class, improvement of mathematics problem-solving ability of students in the experimental class is higher than the control class. In the high category, students can apply the measures to see, plan, d, and check it well. In the medium category students can apply the measures see, plan, do and check, but there is an error in the operation so that the results of any settlement, while in the low category of students has not concluded.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the improvement of learning outcomes and students' self-confidence with PBL and TPS models. This study uses an experimental research design with two group pre-test - post-test designs. The study population was fourth-grade students at Elementary School in East Pekalongan sub-district. Samples were taken by random sampling technique obtained by 114 children from Public Elementary School Klego 01 as many as 61 students, and Public Elementary School Poncol 2 as many as 53 students. Research data were taken from tests and observations. The data were analysed using t-test analysis, with SPSS 23 software. The results showed PBL models are more effective than TPS models on learning theme VIII sub-theme 3 learning 3 with t-test sig values < 0.05. The research concludes that the PBL and TPS models are effective in improving learning outcomes and students' self-confidence. The PBL model is more effective than the TPS model in improving student learning outcomes and self-confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning models for increasing critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students, analyze the Implementation of Outdoor Guided Inquiry learning models in increasing critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students, comparing the effectiveness of POE learning model and Outdoor Guided Inquiry in the critical thinking ability of fifth grade elementary school students. This research used a quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-test control group design. The population and sample taken in this study were all fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Sambong (eksperimen group) and SD Negeri 3 Sambong (control group), totaling 42 students. The experimental group was intervened by Outdoor Guided Inquiry while the control group by Predict Observe Explain.  In this study data were taken using test instrument and questionners. Data analysis techniques used in this study were independent samples t-test, and classical completeness test and N-gain test. N-gain calculation results show that the average in the OGI class is 0.61, and the POE class is 0.38, which means that the Outdoor Guided Inquiry model is better in improving students' critical thinking abilitis compared to the Predict Observe Explain model. Based on the t-test calculation of OGY and POE classes, ttable = 2.021 and tvalue = 4.265, so tvalue > ttable shows that the OGI learning model is significantly better than the POE model.
