A Comparative Study of Ngapsahi Analysis and Tagmemic Analysis on Arabic Texts in Kitab Kuning Muhamad Jaeni

Abstract

There are various traditions used in interpreting a book or kitab. One of the models of interpreting kitab kuning used in pesantren is Ngapsahi. This is a creative and effective model using grammatical markers. Actually, the analysis of the grammatical markers has been used by western linguists, although it only emphasizes on the analysis of the structural latin texts, such as English, France, Indonesian, and other latin languages. This analysis model has not been implemented in Arabic texts. Yet, the western linguists believe that this tradition is universal which can be implemented in any language in the world. This study focuses on creating Ngapsahi analysis system and comparing it with Tagmemic analysis in kitab kuning. There are three steps used in the research method including finding data and sources; analyzing the data and the sources; and drawing conclusion. The results of this study are: First, Tagmemic analysis can be implemented in Arabic text inspite of the uncomplete dimensions covered by this analysis. Second, Ngapsahi analysis model is a specific model created by pesantren’s priest. Third, there is a similarity between Tagmemic and Ngapsahi analyses, especially which is in the term of linguistic dimensions (Slot, Class, Role, Cohesion) filled by the grammatical markers. The difference between those analyses is the more complete dimensions of Ngapsahi analysis than Tagmemic’s because of the complexity and compliteness of Arabic text system.

Abstract

Pengapsahan model is a translation model that has long been used by Kiai in several traditional pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) on coastal Java. During this time, the conjugation model is only understood as a tool for analyzing text structures, whereas far more than that, there is a variety of Javanese typically used in pesantren having a social role so that the variety of Javanese is still preserved by pesantren communities. This paper examines the model of analyzing the pesantren books. The study will also look at the formulation of Kitabi Javanese language and the reasons why the variety of Javanese of the pesantren that continues to be preserved and maintained by the pesantren community, as well as how the process of conjugation has become a part of the process of acculturation in Javanese and Arabic in the texts of religious books. The results of this study, First; the conjugation model is a special model for Arabic texts created by Islamic boarding school scholars with various analytical tools in it; Second, the variety of languages used in the conjugation of the book is a variety of Javanese of coastal dialects and it has become a corpus of its language which is called Jawa Kitabi (Kitabi Javanese); Third, the process of acculturation of Arabic-Javanese in the tradition of conjugation is characterized by the emergence of the pegon script, the emergence of Javanese translation books with the Arabic structure of fusha, the existence of mixed code phenomena in the writing and translating pesantren books, both mixed codes of Javanese-Arabic, Javanese-Indonesian and mixed codes of Javanese Krama-Ngoko.

Abstract

Treasures of the Javanese Muslim clerics (Kiais) thought on nationalism contained in their books have made a valuable contribution in maintaining Indonesia as a unitary state. Their papers discuss not only religious issues but also the values of nationalism. This study is aimed at examining the linguistic dimensions, the praxis-discourse, and the socio-cultural-political aspects of their books. It incorporates both critical discourse analysis and content analysis. From the profound analysis, the study concludes that, first, the texts concerning nationalism in a number of the Kiais’ books can be seen through their linguistic dimension. These linguistic dimensions are partly found in the books written by Kiais from coastal areas. Second, at the level of praxis-discourse, those books are mostly written in Pegon script. The preservation of Arabic Pegon is meant not only to facilitate Javanese society in learning but also to indicate the Kiais' love of the local language, which is part of the national identity. Third, those books were mostly written during the struggle of the Indonesian people against the colonizers. While writing and teaching their religious texts, the pesantren Kiais instill values of the importance of loving and caring for the motherland.

Abstract

Online learning media used by lecturers in lectures requires them to provide several links to materials and assignments to students. The number of links provided has the potential to cause difficulties for students to store, remember and access these links. This study aims to explain the creation and use of the At-Talkhis Learning Management System (LMS) for learning Arabic. This research method uses the agile method, which is one method that is quite popular today because it offers flexibility, so the author can return to an earlier phase if any changes are needed. The results of this study are the process of making At-Talkhis using hyperlinks on MS Power Point to create a format (Portable Document Format), how to use it and the results of the student response survey, based on the survey results 98.7% of students gave a positive response to the use of At-Talkhis. in Arabic courses. The advantage of At-Talkhis is that it is easy to use because its features are common, cheap because the features are free for the public and can be added with various other media to support Arabic learning. the disadvantages of At-Talkhis are internet signal constraints, not all lecturers can make attractive designs and difficulties in compiling what features will be included in the Learning Management System.

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan, dalam hal ini adalah madrasah memiliki peran dalam membentuk anak didik sebagai  ndividu dan juga sebagai anggota masyarakat yang baik. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini akan mencoba melihat peran madrasah secara sosiologi. Bagaimana madrasah memerankan diri sebagai “masyarakat kecil” dalam menuju masyarakat yang besar dan sebenarnya. Dan juga bagaimana ia mampu mencetak output pendidikan yang tidak hanya cakap dalam tataran kognitif, tetapi juga tataran afektif dan psikomotoriknya. Untuk merealisasikan konsep ini, madrasah sebagai bentuk masyarakat kecil dapat melakukan beberapa hal, yaitu: membuat desain kurikulum yang berdasarkan pada kebutuhan masyarakat; menciptakan model komunikasi intensif di kalangan stakeholders madrasah melalui kegiatan diskusi dan problem solving; membentuk iklim sekolah yang terbuka, bebas terarah, dan iklim kekeluargaan dan persaudaraan. Dalam praktik, paling tidak secara sosiologis, madrasah harus berperan dalam tiga hal; membekali ilmu pengetahuan, membentuk kepribadian moral dan sosial, melatih berbagai kecakapan hidup.

Abstract

One of the most difficult things in learning Arabic language is understanding the structure of the text. It may caused by the complication of its structure and also the complex meaning of each word. Consequently, knowing the meaning of a word is very important in understanding an Arabic language text. Therefore, there is a branch of Arabic language which specifically discusses about meaning, called semantics. One of the discussions is about the field of meaning such as synonym, antonym, polysemy, etc. They have important role in understanding sentence structure of a text. Therefore, learning semantics is an obligation for those who want to be able to understand Arabic language text well.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the vernacularization process of Arabic grammar by studying the books that discuss the nahwu-sharaf rules translated by KH. Ahmad Muthahar of Mranggen Demak. There are several reasons that made KH. Ahmad Muthahar translate a lot of Arabic grammar books. These include: book writing movement was an academic culture that had long been built by Arab scholars and scholars of the Archipelago, to maintain and preserve the Javanese language literature written in the Pegon script, and to make it easier for the santris (students of the pesantren) and the public to learn the rules of Arabic. The sociolinguistics approach is used for this study. This study is a library research, the data of which were collected through listening, surveying and note-taking method. The data were analyzed for their content (content analysis). The study found that KH. Ahmad Muthahar’s efforts to vernacularize the Arabic grammar in his books include: vernacularization of the grammatical symbols in order to understand text structure, vernacularization of the I’rab narration, vernacularization of the particles of the Arabic letters, localizing the change of meanings caused by changes of word forms (morphology).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore a sociolinguistic review of the use of Arabic with a communicative approach in Klego Village, East Pekalongan District, Pekalongan City. This research is a library research and is descriptive-analytic in nature whose data is taken from the results of excavation and searching of books and other references relevant to the research theme. then the data were analyzed by deductive and comparative methods. The results of the study indicate that the communicative approach in using Arabic is an approach that aims to develop communicative abilities and teaching procedures for the four language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a balanced way. The use of language skills with a communicative approach in terms of sociolinguistics contains the same content, namely the practical purpose of using language which is then applied in the real life of society. One of the non-linguistic factors that can affect the teaching of Arabic from a social context is a social phenomenon. While the social context itself is divided into several things, namely: home (residence), community (surrounding environment), schools, social gatherings and groups, mosque groups, play groups, and mass media. Keywords: Sociolinguistics, Arabic language teaching, communicative approach.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Students are required to complete a final project/thesis as one of the requirements for graduation in college. Students who are pursuing a bachelor's degree must complete a thesis as one of their final assignments. Scientific works made by students as evidence of academic proficiency in conducting research are also included in the thesis. The service activity uses the presentation method of discussion and question and answer. This method is carried out by the presenters and training participants, so as to maximize the participants' knowledge about the search process, the methods used and how to formulate problems. The purpose of the training is to motivate IAIN Pekalongan students that tips and tricks are needed in making thesis titles. The output of the thesis title submission training that can be obtained is that students are able to compose a good and correct thesis title. Then add knowledge and skills in word processing. In the future, with the training, students are expected to be able to implement the thesis title mechanism. So in this case the sharing activities did not dampen the enthusiasm of the students to take part in this training. Keyword: student, training, title, thesis Abstrak Mahasiswa wajib menyelesaikan tugas akhir/skripsi sebagai salah satu syarat kelulusan di perguruan tinggi. Mahasiswa yang sedang mengejar gelar sarjana harus menyelesaikan skripsi sebagai salah satu tugas akhir mereka. Karya ilmiah yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa sebagai bukti kemahiran akademik dalam melakukan penelitian juga termasuk dalam skripsi. Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan metode presentasi diskusi dan tanya jawab. Metode ini dilakukan oleh pemateri dan peserta pelatihan, sehingga memaksimalkan pengetahuan peserta mengenai proses pencarian judul, metode yang digunakan serta bagaimana cara merumuskan masalah. Tujuan dilakukan pelatihan untuk memotivasi para mahasiswa IAIN Pelakalongan bahwa diperlukan tips dan trik dalam pembuatan judul skripsi. Pelatihan pengajuan judul skripsi output yang dapat di peroleh adalah mahasiswa mampu merangkai judul skripsi yang baik dan benar. Kemudian menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengolah kata. Kedepannya dengan adanya pelatihan mahasiswa diharapkan dapat mengimplementasikan mekanisme judul skripsi. Sehingga dalam hal tersebut kegiatan sharing tidak merendam semangat para mahasiswa untuk mengikuti pelatihan ini. Kata Kunci: mahasiswa, pelatihan, judul, skripsi
