Abstract

This study examines the impact of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) and learning interest on the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students, focusing on the perimeter and area of plane figures. Aimed at addressing passive engagement in conventional methods, this quasi-experimental research employed a 2x2 factorial design with 42 students. Data were collected via learning interest questionnaires and mathematics tests, then analyzed using Independent Sample T-Tests and Two-Way ANOVA. The results demonstrate that CRT significantly improves overall mathematics learning outcomes (p = 0.000). Specifically, CRT has a significant positive effect on students with high learning interest (p = 0.008) with a mean difference of 13.45 points, and on those with low learning interest (p = 0.000) with a mean difference of 12.15 points. Furthermore, a significant interaction exists between the teaching approach and learning interest (p = 0.043). These findings suggest that CRT effectively enhances outcomes across different interest levels by integrating local culture, such as the Jam Gadang, into the Merdeka Curriculum. This approach promotes inclusive, contextual, and meaningful learning in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) based on the guided inquiry model for IPAS learning in Grade IV elementary school students. The E-LKPD was developed using the 4-D model, which consists of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The results show that the E-LKPD has very high validity, with material validity scoring 95%, media validity 83%, and language validity 100%. The practicality test conducted at SDN 01 Batang Palupuh showed that the product is highly practical, with teacher ratings reaching 91% and student ratings at 91.1%. The effectiveness of the E-LKPD was tested using pre-test and post-test designs, which showed a significant improvement in student understanding, with an N-Gain score of 0.58. Based on the trial results, it can be concluded that the E-LKPD based on the guided inquiry model is effective in enhancing student engagement and understanding of IPAS concepts in Grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

The integration of assistive technology is a key pillar in creating an inclusive mathematics education ecosystem for deaf students. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) analyzed 49 reference sources to map the trends and effectiveness of learning media at secondary school levels. Findings show the primary focus on practical solutions utilizing students' visual cognitive strengths. Geometry is the most frequent topic (39%) due to its visualization nature that suits deaf visual learners. The reviewed literature indicates that integrating digital media—such as Augmented Reality (AR), Android applications, and subtitled videos—yields average validity scores ranging from 86.50%. This study concludes that transforming physical teaching aids into an interactive digital ecosystem is a crucial solution to bridge verbal communication barriers and mathematical abstraction in secondary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an electronic student worksheet (e-LKPD) based on the 5E Inquiry Learning model assisted by Desmos and to evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing mathematical reasoning skills (MRS) in senior high school mathematics. A Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model was employed, implemented through a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The e-LKPD was developed for Grade X students at SMAN 1 Pariaman on the topic of Linear Programming. Expert validation yielded an average score of 98% (highly valid) across content, language, and media aspects. Practicality testing yielded teacher response of 88.6% and student response of 97% (both highly practical). Effectiveness was evaluated via N-Gain analysis; mean pretest scores increased from 32 to 71 post-intervention, with an average N-Gain of 0.57 (medium category). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test confirmed statistically significant improvement (p ≤ 0.001). These findings indicate that the e-LKPD integrating the 5E inquiry model with Desmos technology constitutes a valid, practical, and moderately effective instructional tool for advancing mathematical reasoning skills in senior high school mathematics.

Abstract

Students' limited conceptual understanding of acid-base material remains a challenge in chemistry learning due to the material's abstract and complex nature. On the other hand, the demands of 21st-century education require students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning skills. This study aims to develop an interactive e-module based on the case method on acid and base material and test its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were obtained through expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and learning outcome tests, which were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the developed e-module met the criteria for being very suitable for learning. The practicality test by students yielded a percentage range of 90.85% to 94.14%, with the attractiveness aspect achieving the highest score of 94.14%. From an effectiveness perspective, there was a significant increase in learning outcomes, as indicated by a rise in students' average score from 42.33 in the pretest to 89.17 in the posttest during the small-group stage. Furthermore, the average posttest score during the implementation phase was 81.34, with a classical completion rate of 85.71%. These findings demonstrate that integrating the case method with interactive multimedia can help students connect the concepts of acids and bases to contextual problems, thereby enhancing conceptual understanding and engagement. Therefore, the interactive e-module based on the case method has the potential to be an effective digital teaching material innovation to support chemistry learning that is more contextual, meaningful, and oriented towards developing 21st-century competencies.
